First, reduce corruption at RTO for issuing driving license, increase the difficulty of driving license exam to higher standards, better education for driving. Second, increase public awareness and emphasize individual responsibility for driving on roads. Third, better engineering of roads to streamline and reduce occurences of accidents, better road turn, dividers. Fourth, better law enforcement, but it's already squeezed tight, so AI cameras to monitor traffic.
Increasing exam standards wont help. There is no standard training provided by RTO. they are just charging chunks of money for the test. They make sure you fail the test so that you repeat the test paying the fee again and again. Specially this scenario i have seen for motorcycles test conducted by rto. They give no pratical training as per Indian road standards. Indian lives are just scrap. Corruption at its peak
Road safe, road lane rules planning is required, then make a license test, passing those rules, then sustain with tougher restrictions. Dumb government and dumb public don't follow, that's why pathetic country.
Issues in Indian roads are many ; 1. Lorry & other vehicles carry heavy loads than permitted. Leading to control factors n fatalities. 2. Heavy vehicles are permitted only to drive at night , drivers are mostly pressurised by transport owners to even drive daytime , drivers most often end up driving 18-20 hours . 3. Lack of maintenance of these big vehicles. 4. Old license policy which needs an update . 5. Lack of civic sense among most of us , every one wants to zoom, without even considering the over taking policy. 6. Last but not least , lack of vigilance from department, we only c police standing at high ways to collect fines from vehicles, than monitoring vehicle movements. 2.
87% fatalities blamed on human error or over speeding is not true at all . Whenever an accident happens , police close the case blaming over speed. Lack of safety infrastructure and gaps in rule enforcement is the real culprit
Please find the other car which caused the accident, usually in Indian roads, some vehicle does not follow rules and others pay for it. In this case it could have been a wrong lane change or something like that
So what can the car driver be held for ? He will say he braked since someone tried crossing the road. Nothing can be done especially for accident cases since there are weak laws on accident cases.
The Bengaluru Tumakuru highway is a toll road from Hesarghatta cross (7th mile) and is a 4 lane highway and its surprising how this accident occured in a 4 lane highway.
like 6-7 years ago people were literally selling driving license in 2000 Rs of both car and bike(don't know still happening or not ) , most people don't even know the meaning of all symbols on road , dont know how to overtake , how to change lane , this creates a lot of rucks on road and accident like this happens, with insane amount of honking literally irritating drive
Still happening, abhi next week main bhi banwaunga, Car chalana baad me seekh lunga!! Dosent matter if you are f1 driver, here in my city yiu cant get license without paying bribe!!
The Problem begins at the RTO. Any Indian can manage a driving license from any RTO. Even in Saudi Arabia, Indians do not automatically get a driving license after work permit, whereas expats from small nations like Peru, Chile, Costa Rica etc. are automatically given licences right away.
Strict road regulations and their stricter implementation is the need of the hour. Corruption is one of the biggest reasons for unsafe roads.(remember 300 words essay??) Indians are getting frustrated with increasing number of accidents. Reckless driving, killing people, getting bail in no time has become child's play.
you told govt has spent over 50,000 crores on road safety...its anybody's guess where the money actually went, nothing is going to change unless corruption is curbed. Corruption is at every stage, getting a license without a driving test, paying bribes if got caught breaking laws, cab/auto/bus/truck drivers driving aggressively and maintaining no distance whatsoever even on highways
Nelamangala junction is cursed. My dad had met with a similar case in 2008, however fortunately made it out alive. But after that, also so many many accidents at that exact area. Bone chilling
In IT companies there is a mandate for all employees to undergo certain compliance training once in 6 months or a year. Similarly the government can mandate all driving licence holders to undergo road safety training online regularly.

The Transport Minister of the present government had increased truck load by 25%. Now the trucks which are ancient carry more load which makes them unstable, ruins the road surface and has disincentivised truck owners to upgrade transport to newer heavy vehicles with ABS and traction control
No point of blaming the build quality of the Volvo,Volvo is among the safest cars in the world... instead ,we should blame the incharge government for not putting barrier and not bothering for the safety of roads...
Blaming the government alone is not justified. We, the people, must take some responsibility as well! Most Indian drivers do not respect lanes. If there are two lanes, sometimes four vehicles try to squeeze in. There ain't enough zebra crossing for pedestrians and people try to cross roads anywhere they want to. Indian roads ain't made for pedestrians but for big vehicles. What is more annoying is random speed bumps instead of enough traffic lights. Many drivers lack a basic sense of driving. I blame the poor academic requirements to obtain a license - hence, many of these drivers have no respect or sense of driving (especially auto drivers and bikers who seldom follow proper road etiquette). Building more highways or expressways can not alone solve the problem of massive roadkills we have in India, equally important is the spread of awareness of civic behavior and stricter penalties and not bribes. In many Western countries, simple life skills such as swimming and driving are part of the curriculum in schools, which we don't have. Many of us, especially those who are from middle-class families and raised in small towns or cities, don't know how to swim. Our parents force us to be academic nerds and get good grades, that's all. I feel disappointed again and again.
This is devastating. Imagine working your whole life buying your dream car. That to Volvo for their family's safety, And just 2 months later your whole family vanishes in split second l. Man this is heart wrenching 💔🥺😓
Not once has it been addressed that the truck was overloaded. Even if a car slows down, the brakes on the truck are supposed to slow the truck down, not topple it along with the container. If the truck was not overloaded, the overall stability of the truck model should be put in question and all such trucks recalled or banned from loading heavy container. Every single law or rule in India is a Joke!
Most truck drivers drink and drive and they drive long hours to reach destinations asap. They risk others life’s more than theirs. This truck was over loaded aluminium 60 tons. Driver was driving fast to reach fast and the transporter makes huge money. The trucks are overloaded, over speeding, drivers are drunk and if coughs they pay money and move on. They do this on regular basis and regularly pay and move on. Innocent lives are lost for some people greed of more money.
Its crazy how fast truck and bus drivers drive in India, even in the most congested of places. No one follows the speed limit for LCVs and trucks. We have to blame the roads as well as these negligent drivers. But there union is so strong that no government will dare bringing stringent laws.
Paying tax in India feels like a loss. There is nothing for the common man and with visuals like these... seems like when the time is not right there is nothing for the rich and wealthy either.
Indians have to change their mindset. For everything, if you have to pay bribes and the govt. officer will ask for bribe, then this country will never change.
This is being discussed seriously as here a CEO got killed in road accident. But in his place if a village labour or a common man would have died than it may not have hit the news headlines.
Concerns About Heavy and expensive Vehicle Owners 1. Perception of License to Race or Kill : There are individuals who own expensive and heavy vehicles, and they seem to operate under the assumption that they have a "license to kill" anyone at any time. 2. Driving Behavior: These drivers often behave as if they are on a racing track, disregarding traffic rules and safety. 3. Disregard for Others: They tend to treat their time as more important than that of smaller vehicle owners, showing a lack of consideration for others on the road. 4. Influence of VVIPs and Ministers: This behavior appears to be influenced by the actions and attitudes of VVIPs and ministers, who may set a poor example. 5. Impact on Children: The implications of this reckless driving culture are concerning, especially for children in India, who need safe roads and transportation services. 6. Future Dangers: If this trend continues, it could lead to even more dangerous situations on the roads in the future.
Truck driver on highway don't follow the lane discipline, they cut the lanes without indicators or do parallel overtake. Overloading. Roads are equally bad, unpredictable potholes, lanes cuts and dangerous speed breakers.🎯🙈

It is not the issue with any Volvo, BMW, Marc or any other car manufacturers. In India, very few people know about the driving rules and specially about highway driving. One needs to follow lane driving as well as the proper distance from the vehicle ahead based on the speed and type of the vehicle. There is a generic rule for distance maintaining as one thousand one, one thousand two, one thousand three, one thousand four. It follows most of the advanced countries in east n west. This accident occurs due to sudden brake of a Pvt car in the middle of the road looking for something. But the heavy container didn’t maintain the distance and as a result, it got skidded and toppled in the other side of the road. The same happened with the Volvo. It was also not having enough space in the front to avoid collision or put a hard brake. This is a heart braking example and lesson to keep enough distance while driving specially on high speed drive way. 🙏
One of reasons is Slow moving vehicle's drive right side and some idiots to save U turn they drive in wrong directions. Many yrs past Nelmangala to Tumkur highway is 4 lane infact that area traffic is soo much that it should be 8 lanes.
Volvo is one of the safest cars. The problem lies with overloaded and lorry and lack of protocols when driving large overloaded, oversized vehicles . In developed countries abnormal load vehicles have a pilot vehicle in the front and back.
1.Most of the pedestrian walking is encroached and people walk almost on the roads. 2. To avoid delay people drive in wrong lane. And it results highest number of accidents. 3. Two and Three wheeler never bothered of any type of traffic rules. 4. Rash Driving - Strict Action is not present in Indian Legal framework. Government is not at all serious in implementing Traffic Rules and Traffic Rules Education

Forget cracking down on any other laws, if wrong side driving cannot be stopped then no other changes can be implemented.

Fourth, Severe fines for minor violations to help make observing rules a normal habit
Speed limit, speed cameras fine, demerit points, like EU laws needed
Road safe, road lane rules planning is required, then make a license test, passing those rules, then sustain with tougher restrictions. Dumb government and dumb public don't follow, that's why pathetic country.

Issues in Indian roads are many ;

I don’t know why people talking about car’s safety. Anything can be crushed.Even tankers crushed. It’s the road and driving situation
like 6-7 years ago people were literally selling driving license in 2000 Rs of both car and bike(don't know still happening or not ) , most people don't even know the meaning of all symbols on road , dont know how to overtake , how to change lane , this creates a lot of rucks on road and accident like this happens, with insane amount of honking literally irritating drive

1. Wrong side 2. Jumping signals 3. Lane change without signal 4. Road rage
Corruption is one of the biggest reasons for unsafe roads.(remember 300 words essay??)
Indians are getting frustrated with increasing number of accidents.
Reckless driving, killing people, getting bail in no time has become child's play.
While driving always make it a point to stay away from container trailers, oil tankers and inflammable substances carrying trucks.
Lack of enforcement is the main cause. Trucks are seen mostly driving in the lane meant for cars.
Even the world’s safest car is not safe in India.
you told govt has spent over 50,000 crores on road safety...its anybody's guess where the money actually went, nothing is going to change unless corruption is curbed. Corruption is at every stage, getting a license without a driving test, paying bribes if got caught breaking laws, cab/auto/bus/truck drivers driving aggressively and maintaining no distance whatsoever even on highways

I saw that most of the truck drivers and teenagers are responsible for reckless driving. In the case of truck drivers, they are driving fast to get extra money from transporters as a reward for early delivery of loads. 0:09 can you guys see that tire? Its all flat and used up but they are still using it. Accident was bound to happen
1st question. Why does these trucks take the overtaking lane when they have the outermost lane reserved for them?
1:04 it was like 20 years ago. It is not gold standard for safety any more.
Indians have to change their mindset. For everything, if you have to pay bribes and the govt. officer will ask for bribe, then this country will never change.
This is being discussed seriously as here a CEO got killed in road accident. But in his place if a village labour or a common man would have died than it may not have hit the news headlines.
Concerns About Heavy and expensive Vehicle Owners

Traffic laws should be strictly enforced
People driving carelessly and blaming on road = नाच न जाने आंगन टेढ़ा 🤡

Volvo is one of the safest cars. The problem lies with overloaded and lorry and lack of protocols when driving large overloaded, oversized vehicles . In developed countries abnormal load vehicles have a pilot vehicle in the front and back.
Safe driving education is a must as many are reckless with no respect for life! India seriously needs to address this issue.
1.Most of the pedestrian walking is encroached and people walk almost on the roads.
2. To avoid delay people drive in wrong lane. And it results highest number of accidents.
3. Two and Three wheeler never bothered of any type of traffic rules.
