Sir, greetings from Pakistan. Sanam Marvin is a brilliant singer and yourself are absolutely right in saying that she sounds familiar to the legendary Abida Parveen. She is following in her footsteps. Sanam Marvi also has many years of experience and extremely popular here in Pakistan. Sir, your pronunciation of "Sufi" was absolutely correct , in fact, perfect. Sufi music just reached the soul. Your in-depth reaction was simply a treat to watch and listen to. She is talking about the sacrifices of great people and compares it with the very minor difficulties that we pass through these days. She is reminding us to think of those great sacrifices whenever we pass through tests and tribulations so that we get inspired and able to pass through such testing times with ease. Sir, She has talked about several saints. She talks about Mansoor Hallaj, a famous Persian saint of the 9th century who was imprisoned for several years and then executed in jail because of his religious and political views. Then she spoke about Shah Hussain, a great Sufi poet of the 16th century and also about Sachal Sarmast, another great Sufi poet of the 18th century who wrote in more than seven different languages. Their poetry still lives in the hearts of people. This song was brilliant as were the reactions. Coke studio season 6 is just excellent . I am loving it especially watching it with yourself. Best wishes for the strength of this great channel. With warm regards

The lyrics are made up of fragments of poems by different Sufi masters. The translation is a bit off, but the message of the song contains a number of themes; such as not judging others, but taking a good look at yourself, non-sectarianism and the importance of love and devotion on the path of enlightenment and contemplating the suffering of the great Sufi Master, Mansur Al Hallaj, who like Jesus was crucified on the cross for stating the truth that everything whether high or low is an expression of the same Oneness.
