Thanks Judy! Another wonderful surprise episode. Love this simple and healthy soup recipe! My husband had been diagnosed with Hep C in his 20's (also from a blood transf). and his story is very similar to yours. He too, made healthy lifestyle choices over the years and was recently told by his Dr. that he does not appear to have the Hep C virus anymore. Healthy, clean living pays off!
Yay!!! Happy to hear that. Love that the liver can regenerate. Seems like a number of us were infected by blood transfusions before they knew to screen for Hep C
That’s fantastic news that the virus is out of your system. I love a home made vegetable soup. That looks amazing and so healthy. My grandparents would regularly make vegetable and lentil soup for us - it was comfort in a bowl.
Wow! That looks terrific Judy! I love my vegetables, especially asparagus. I’m amazed at how you find the time to do all that you do. You’re an inspiration to everyone. You go girl!
Vegetable soup, VERY 'Waltonish' LOL.. Mom had stories about the depression, it was so bad in N.M. that they didn't eat ANY 'bought meat' for a whole year.. Wild game maybe once a week, home grown vegies all the time... when 'vegetarian' became a thing in the 70s she used to laugh every time someone mentioned CHOOSING to be 'meat free' ...................thanks for this one Judy....

Yep - I’m sure vegetarian was a necessity rather than choice for many. As for skydiving… it is true. :). Haven’t jumped for years, but I did have nearly 700 jumps.
When I first got married a friend told me that if she has left over vegetables, she put them in a bigger bowl in the freezer. As she cooks and has left overs, she adds to the bowl. When it’s full, she makes vegetable soup. Not much seasoning is necessary since you did that with the vegetables alone.
My mom grew up in the Depression and used to make a soup she called "Lettuce Soup" that had simple ingredients. Never one of my favorites so I nicknamed it "Mudwater Soup" because it made me think of the puddles outside after it had just rained! Haha!

Thank You Judy. This recipe is awesome ! I myself had stopped eating fast food nearly 30 years ago. It tastes good initially, but the effects on the unsuspecting stomach afterward is not always fun. Eating at home is so much better. 🥰
My mother was a child, maybe Elizabeth’s age in the series, during the depression. She said her mother would keep a pot of soup on the stove for the hobos (a term we no longer use today) that would come to the door. She would give them a bowl of soup, but would never let them in the house nor allow them to spend the night in the barn. Their home reminded me of the Walton home - a big farm house, a garden, a cow, chickens, not as many children, but they had extended family living with them. Sadly, it’s no longer in the family.
I know you don't require it, but I've always wondered if actors used onions for emotional scenes to induce tears. A tearful day on the set always had an onion cart available on the side? I think a table of my cooking would do the trick as well because my cooking is very sad. But watching these videos will certainly help. Thanks!
My Italian mother is smiling at you right now Mrs Judy thank you once again. Every Sunday at our house is family Day or family time this meal that you prepare to something similar that I make for my loved ones except I use my homemade meatballs thank you for sharing your version and I will add it to our Sunday lineup thank you.
What's cooking good looking. That was a wonderful experience you are exemplary. Appreciate you sharing your story. You are a picture of Health and Vitality, Its all about consistency. I guess I don't need to remind you about avacodos, olive oil, blueberries, and all the other supper foods that don't really require a lot of cooking. I buy my blueberries frozen to keep a steady supply. Avacodos last longer in the fridge once they are ripe. The list go's on and on. My story is similar to yours cept it was HIV at 24 here I am at 63 in the best health ever. Did not drink alcohol. Did smoke stopping many years ago. Always staying active, and a good diet are the perfect recipe for good health. Thanks again for these pleasent visit into your home !😊

Thank you, Judy, for not only your down to earth candor but for your inspirational recipes! Hep C has been a bit of a beast for some folks to overcome and listening to your determination to overcome it with both diet and lifestyle is truly solid advice to anyone burdened with autoimmune conditions. Keep up the great focus and know that you are indeed greatly appreciated!
Happy to hear that. The good news about Hep C or other liver related issues is that the liver is the one organ that can regenerate, so it seems like if we do our best to support it with healthy choices we give it its best chance at healing itself.
Bravo Judy!! This has the feel of a food network segment to me?? I love that you are promoting healthy eating because so many people are sick and many times a change in diet is all it takes for a turn around. I love love love these segments and how relaxed and at home you are as you prepared the meal. I agree completely. I find many foods are like that for me. Taste good going down, but I pay for it later when I don’t feel well. :)
@@judynorton2598 They are definitely not made with the best ingredients. 😉
What a nice mother. Yeah you do not hear the term Hobos in recent years but it was used.
How kind of your mother. I’m sure it made a difference in many lives.
I know you don't require it, but I've always wondered if actors used onions for emotional scenes to induce tears. A tearful day on the set always had an onion cart available on the side? I think a table of my cooking would do the trick as well because my cooking is very sad. But watching these videos will certainly help. Thanks!
An onion cart would be helpful some days :).
How wonderful. Thank you.
This video is where I would have loved to have "smell-o-vision". It looks so yummy. Farmers market is where I go for veggies!
Thank you! Yes, farmer’s markets are a great source.
Great cooking video and it looked delicious. I love vegetable soup. Thanks for sharing this with us.
My pleasure.
This is such a great addition to what you are already doing. Thank you!
Good to know. Thanks.
Sorry to hear you also have had to deal with health challenges, but glad to hear you have been proactive in making healthy choices.
Looks good. We will give it a try 🤞
Wonderful.

Happy to hear that.
I would like to recommend Butterball All Natural Ground Turkey. It is tray packaged fresh or packaged frozen in one pound chubs.
Wonderful. Thanks.
I LOVE this!!
Amazing story, glad you beat that virus!
Thank you so much.
I like the addition of the cooking ideas on your channel. I often just add what ever I have, in the fridge too. it's one of our old family recipes , my Mom called it "Refrigerator Soup" . Your channel is so positive and a pleasure to watch, thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it.
I love the Waltons so much it's my comfort show my husband and I watch it every night before we go to bed! We're rewatching it again! Even though I didn't grow up with the show because I was born in 1996 this show holds such a special place in my heart! Thank you for making a beautiful show ♥️
Our pleasure. Thanks for continuing to watch.
Coming from the Caribbean we enjoy heavier soups with lots of Irish potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, yams etc. Now however I would choose your soup over the Caribbean version.
How wonderful to hear. Thank you.
nice to see you cooking again great video
Thank you 😋
