Hi Steven, you have great collection of diesel shunters. You cant beat the old stuff, I love to see old locos given a new life. I think you have one of the best collections I,v seen. Keep them running butty. All the best. Carl.

Hi Carl, thanks mate. They were very cheap when I got them, I used to let my boys run them when they were young. Now, neither are interested in the finer points of running a railway. Thanks again for running your Scotsman, and for the shout out. It was much appreciated. Steven.

Enjoyable video. That Lima one - there must have been millions of them made and in the livery of every railway/railroad in the world. The jouef one is the only one based on an accurate prototype and rest are homages.

Thanks for watching mate, much appreciated. I think most models from around that time had doubtful pedigree. It would appear Tyco and Lima were almost sharing moulds they are so similar. Jouef were a strange exception, good moulds let down by their motors. Steven.

That is quite the collection o those 0-4-0's. I have a few and like yours they live in storage. Nice work on the scratch builds. David.

Hi David, these little locos just get much of a rap these days, but as a child they were quite the thing. Steven.

Hi Steven, thats a really good collection of 0-4-0 Locos, I have never seen the Tyco Diesel before. Its a good runner and in super condition. The Lima Diesels are also good runners, I added 2 x 25gr (1 each end) stick on wheel weights and it made a huge difference. The Triang Steamers are quite rare, its good you keep them running. The Jouef Diesels have good detailing but very noisy which is a shame. I like the scratch built buildings, the weathered look is amazing especially the corrogated roof sheets with the rust.
Did you get the bearing made for the X03 motor?. Enjoyed watching this video some wonderful oldies you have. Cheers, Paul.👍👍👍

Hi Paul, haven't caught up with my brother yet, but will hopefully in the next few weeks. I am thinking a new thrust washer adherents the original bearing could be enough. I remember the Tyco diesel was a huge seller back in the 70s, a few of my mates had them. I am not sure if Tyco ever was marketed in Europe, I have never seen a TH-cam from those parts show one. As for Lima, they were everywhere I suppose. There seems to be a ton of Jouef in Australia as well, it is quite common on ebay but has become more expensive. The scratch builds are a bit of a side interest. I am modelling an old farm house that was in Capalaba when I was a child. An Old Queenslander style home left to disintegrate. I liked the rustic look. Steven.
