I had the Rapunzel doll. I don't know where she is though. I think maybe I either lost her or gave her away. Which, naturally, I regret. The Rapunzel doll wasn't one of my favorites per se, but I adored the film. Rapunzel was also my Mom's favorite of the Barbie films that she got me when I was a kid. All these years later she still loves to say, "I AM a mighty dragon!"

Except for the sleeves, the dress is almost exact like how it was shown in the movie! Again, that transformation was PERFECTION.
If she had her hair a little bit longer, it could be even beautiful. However, she is really beautiful and accurate to the film overall!
I had her as a child 🥺 and she was my first barbie doll ever,now I've ordered Clara doll,but after clara doll it's time to get Rapunzel doll back 💜
I grew up around the time when tangled wasn’t a thing so Barbie as rapunzel was my rapunzel at the time I loved the movie and have the dolls.
Her dress is so beautiful and detailed. I miss this type of design from mattel.
I had her when I was little! I loved her, though I remember being annoyed by the hairbrush melody. I also remember the hair extention being sucked up the vacuum (but it was later rescued!)...Ironically, now when I re-purchased the doll as an adult collector the extention is the only piece I am missing for her.

Btw a little tip. If you use the gimmick a little too much the string will start to thin out. I recommend coating it in some glue so it holds together better. That what happened with mine but I can still save it luckily. And congratulations on her again she really is a beautiful doll!

I did have her, I was born in 98 and a version of Clara and this Rapunzel doll were among my first Barbie’s. I don’t remember the brush as a child, which I can imagine my grandparents probably threw the brush away because a child could annoy the out of you with it, I also had the Prince Stephan talking Ken doll to go with the Rapunzel Barbie. Now that I’m older, I really only care about the 4 main Barbie line “nutcracker” Rapunzel, Swan Lake, and Princess and the Pauper. These dolls and movies are my favorite and the most memorable as a child. I didn’t have the swan lake or the main Clara doll, so as an adult I’m looking to have them all. Preferably two of each, one to have in the box and one to actually play with if I want to or display. These wrote my childhood, and this era and the magic of this version of Barbie will never be matched in my opinion. The new Barbie just doesn’t have the charm that Kelly Sheridan brought to the Barbie of my memory. Thanks for posting.

She's beautiful but I also wish all of her hair was long, I was about to get one just now, good thing I checked the "make her hair grow magically" gimmick before lol
I guess her hair is kind a accurated to the movie, cause when rapunzel gets ready to the Ball, gothel did cut her hair very very short, maybe this doll is represent to the that look of it. And maybe the long part were the resemble to the final look of her that her wedding look, but as a doll collector i do use second merch of her that her hair very long and i braid it like the orijinal.

Great review! I own her as well, my childhood dream. However apart from the hair length I also don’t like the hair quality. They are fairly fuzzy. I think for Rapunzel they could have tried harder. I wonder if your hair restore technique would work here.

I still have my repunzel barbie with the horse and carriage, she was my favourite as a child.
I used to have her when i was little but unfortunately one day i play with her in the water and i don't know what that string on her back for so i cut it and her hair fall off so i glue her hair and is getting worse so i have to give it to my cousin and then a year later he give me back but i don't remember what happens next and she gone

She's not my favorite doll out of the main trio, strange since I do however love the movie a lot, so I have three version of her on my collection.
The first one is the original, the second one is a more movie accurate hair by using the budget Rapunzel a.k.a. Fantasy Tales/Fairy Tale Rapunzel with the original dress, and another one to replicate the Storybook version by using the 2001 Collector Rapunzel doll wearing the 2002 dress.
I usually go for my 2001 Collector and 2002 hybrid since she looks beautiful, plus the hair is so long too! ❤️
