I saw the airplane instruments in the backgroung… are you an airman too?

I wish I was. I wanted a new clock and temp gauge. I found this one and really like it

@@pkwoodworking Airline pilot here. Thought we maybe had that in common too, LOL. I am designing a similar system from scratch, but based on Arduino and with pneumatic blast gates. I love this one, though! Wish it was available here…

Well, do you ever fly to the US? the stuff is actually pretty small.

Great video--thanks! I have a ShopSabre 510 CNC with a metal ducting ball joint up in the ceiling that the drop hose attaches to. With a manual blast gate set-up, I would have to put the blast gate down at the machine level. With the Grit system, I could have it up near the ceiling so that it was before the hose. Is this something you would be comfortable doing since it would be electrically controlled? Assuming there were never any issues with the system working where you had to manually open the valve, I don't know why it wouldn't work that way but thought it was worth asking from a system layout perspective. Thanks.

I am planning exactly that in my new shop. I currently have half of the blast gates at the ceiling level. My plan is to have almost all of them at ceiling level in the new shop. They have been completely reliable at this point.

@@pkwoodworking Thanks. With this system, I might also explore splitting my ducting into two zones with an overhead blast gate as I have one area that gets much more use than another area.

The idea is solid. I wondered about that on my table saw. Should I do two blast gates or just one for that trunk, as 95% of the time I will have both the above and below DC working.

@@pkwoodworking Related to the table saw gates, after talking to Grit, I decided to do one blast gate before my wye that goes to both of the TS ports. As you mentioned, I don't know when I would really want to isolate one port while the saw was running so one gate made sense. On the other hand, before I decided to purchase Grit products, I had already run the ducting for my AD 941 and installed a wye with two blast gates and two hoses...it just seemed easier to switch between jointer and planer doing it this way. The only problem is whether or not I could configure the system to be able to know which operation I was running and correctly align the gates...until I figure that out I am sticking with my manual gates. I am guessing I could do this with the app but I would rather find a more automated way. I have a few installation questions to ask Grit and will be asking this one as well to see if they have any ideas.

I am currently talking to Grit about putting a system together so came back to take another look at your video again. One thing I noticed was that it looks like you got a new jointer/planer. Do you still have the AD 941? I ask because I have the 941 so was hoping to see how you hooked that up. One question I was asked was if I wanted E-stop triggers or Industrial 3PH triggers...the price difference is not really that much so am leaning toward the industrial triggers. Did you go this route for any of your 3PH machines? Thanks.

I do not have the AD-941 anymore. The video is out for that switch. I have a SCM L'invincible FS 7 now.
I am using e-stops for all of my 3ph machines. For me the e-stops work great and they are much smaller.
