    Awesome demonstration. I’m about to pick up my very own m1078 and the ctis is inoperable. I will definitely be trying to do a mod like this

    Very cool! Great manual work-around.

    That is brilliant! Can you post the wiring diagram for “your” box? I am guessing the only thing you kept from stock was the connector and case. Did you modify any of the truck outside of the CTIS box? Thanks!

      I de-installed the pressure transducer on the PCU valve body that the CTIS processor used to measure pressure. It is 1/8” NPT port on the valve body. That is where the other end of the hose from the pressure gauge is connected to now to monitor pressure. A basic mechanical automotive oil pressure gauge has that 1/8” fitting and enough poly hose to reach between the PCU and the CTIS case location. Yes the processor case is gutted, the only mod I made to the truck is a 3/8” hole drilled behind where the controller is mounted that the hose runs thru and runs behind the heater to the PCU. Will have to figure out how to put up a schematic here. I did a writeup over in the FMTV section on the steel soldiers forum but didn’t put up a schematic there. It is pretty straight forward, there are 3 solenoids on the PCU, one button per valve and the switches provide 28V from that cannon plug to the 3 coils using the existing wiring, same as the original processor did...

      Why Me sorry I missed this. Here is some more information on how I did this. I also documented this over on Steelsoldiers.com... th-cam.com/video/SEsRzK2ZLt0/w-d-xo.html

      CallMeColt ok, the youtube link worked for me, it is a slideshow of a drawing and some marked up photos of how to do this. the steel soldiers one wasn’t meant to be a link, just mentioning where I wrote about it. Here is a link to that discussion... www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/manual-ctis-electric-over-pneumatic.182033/

      @@rronmar Okay, thank you. I thought the link was supposed to be directly to the thread and I wasn't able to find it. That link worked great and I subscribed to it so I can read it thoroughly later.

    Can you share the inner working of this awesome design? I'd like try this too. A shot of the components would be great. Thanks!

    was thinking if went to switches that do not have to be held... maybe an audible buzzer when pressure reaches certain point so you know to hit the switches again?

    • @rronmar
      @rronmar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lots of things CAN be done but everything beyond this(adjustable pressure switch, buzzer, wiring) adds complexity and cost. For the amount I foresee using it, I think pushbuttons are more than adequate. I get the impression that it fills the tires faster if I pulse the supply button, but I haven’t actually timed it to find out... I do know the tire volume is a huge demand and sucks down the wet tank to the protection valve pressure in just a few seconds and flow into the tires is limited at that point.
      The gauge angle however is intolerable but this was a proof of concept afterall. I have sketched out a better case design with a little different button layout that will bolt into the same location but be easier to see and activate...

    how high a pressure can you put the tires to with this setup? can it hit 90psi?

    • @rronmar
      @rronmar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      coachgeo should be able to set as high as system pressure but thats a little high IMO:) I think mine are at 85 but 90 should be no problem...
