yeap..totally agree...ive been racing and bashing this kit for almost 6 years now....and im still impressed by the reliability and performance it maintains,,abit of tuning and tweak...it almost a par with my Team C T8Te v2 racing truggy
Glad to hear it's good. My dad and I are kinda thinking about getting back into RC (and 1/8 truggy is our favorite) now that the track that's near-ish us is open year round instead of just the winter. But dropping ~$700 just for a roller (tekno, since the last ones we had were teknos) and then at least another ~$400 on electronics, plus batteries and a charger... thats just too much at once to get back into it. A ~$400 decent RTR truggy (just need batteries and charger) on the other hand... But I think we're both gonna end up getting mini-zs soon since they're cheap and look fun, and are easy to find somewhere to drive, but this is definitely in my back pocket for his birthday.
Just TQed and took 1st in truggy at my local track yesterday with this kit, i just changed the diff and shock oils and used rawspeed tires...this truggy is awesome for the price and ready to race!
Serpent has some very nice cars for good value. Was thinking about this 1/8 RTR truggy myself but we don't have a 1/8 racing track here so I will stay with my 1/10 cars. I got a 1/8 SRX8 GT WC on-road car, and the quality is excellent compared to many other brands and price.
Been looking at this for the past couple weeks now but the parts availability on serpent usa has me a little worried Would love to see your part support before i bite the bullet
@theatvfamily5787 I'm from Barbados so having a car broken down while the racing season is in full swing is kind of a bummer sometimes I have to wait three weeks on parts
I ran the kit version of this truck. It is a pretty good truck, but i did upgrqde to the srx8 truggy when a friend had 1 for a good deal. The truggy's are not compatible with the srx8 truggy line, I have upgraded my 811t te with a lot of the srx8 truck parts, but took a good amount of modifications.
Hi. Regrading to the SERPENT SRX8-T TRUGGY kit FRONT and REAR DRIVE SHAFT AXLES CVDS are they same as the RTR with size I mean If I need to replace my RTR with the kit drive shaft and axles cvds any thing to change? Peace
I’m not 100% sure I haven’t seen the kit yet to confirm difference. But if it is similar to the buggy. They will be the same axles but the cvd will be different. Where it connect to the hub
I may missed, but did you talk about the availability of spare parts? I live in Moldova and I wouldnt like them to be rare even in the countries where they are produced. Thanks for the answer

Yeah that is another option I did think about. But If you believe paying an extra 100 is better than sure. Parts aren’t as easy to get and with the serpent 90% of them are in stock and about a day away depending on location. Serpent a little better rep too. @@theatvfamily no sorry buddy I think Ive not explained properly , at the start f the video you said that it’s the only RTR race truggy . But the Hobao SSTE is also a race truggy . As for parts here in the UK there ready and available from most hobby shops The price is irrelevant to be honest as that’s just down to which one you prefer . I own a SSTE myself and got to say it’s been great so far , having said that I purchased a roller and fitted all my own electrics . Hope that clears it up a bit Stay awesome Chris
@@ChriswithaCrc i forgot that Hobao actually makes an rtr. but i never used their name either. i was referring to traxxas and arma as far as not considering them race "truggies" but yeah it looks like a nice unit as well
I can second the Hobao Truggy to be a track-suited machine, it's epic, a very underrated model which seems to have sadly flown under the radar by the masses! I've used mine (bought the roller chassis) at my local off-road track for a few years now (in the UK too) and the setup I've arrived at with it has transformed it, it's rubbing shoulders with expensive brand names on the track. However, prior to that I was also eyeing up this particular Serpent too, it was only cost, availability, and waiting for parts (if it ever needed any) which swayed me to the Hobao. But I must admit, every time I see one of these Serpent Truggy's, a huge part of me is still tempted as I own a few other 1/10 serpent buggies, and they're great... Since though I've also got an SWORKz S35 T2e, which will be used at some of the BRCA Truggy events this season when I can attend, can't wait for that! The Hobao will also be tested out on the tracks too during practice.

I disagree! The Hobao HYPER SSTE 1/8 TRUGGY ELECTRIC would eat that thing alive! Plus you can also buy it as a Roller or RTR! They also have a Nitro Version. Hobao also has super fast shipping! I just got a Short Course truck from them last week and I had it in 3 days!
A roller will cost you 2x as much once you buy all the necessary items separately! Not to mention the Serpent has WAY MORE parts available NOW within days. Sepernts are on shelves at 3 hobbies stores local to me and I get my cars or parts in 1 Day from Serpent America! Yep ONE day. You cant even find a Hobao on a shelf let alone parts. Plus, again the cost of the Hoboa over 150 more than the Serpent RTR! The Hoboa is a nice car but Ive seen both side by side and the Serpent 100x better quality. NO CONTEST on which is the better buy. Serpent. OH and they also are an extremely well known brand. Champion bred for years
