Just wanted to say I love your videos, especially pro game reviews like this one! I finally got 1d on Tygem after year and a half of playing and a lot of that is thanks to you
Nice video and nice review! :) I liked in particular the tips on having one weak group vs. having two weak groups. And I have to say, it's easier to decide watching an 1 hour video compared to 1 hour and a half. Anyway, thanks for posting this.
16:25 --- If your opponent has an extension, then you need to deny the enclosure and vice versa. That is a well known Go concept in Pro-play. Also "don't jump into a pincer" is why he chose the left side approach and not the bottom one to break up the framework. Just letting you know, that even in the highest professional games, rock solid fundamental moves still occur all the time. With these two player especially, these move could be done blindfolded without thinking.
he's becoming stronger and stronger as the yrs pass having around 70-80% win rate in the last 3-4 yrs (having around 100 pro games each year)...one of the few pros from now at days that I consider to be closest to the remarkable player from 150+ yrs ago
It would be nice reviewing again these games after alphago showed up on the scene. - White's 3rd move is here, is there any other choice? - Of course, invade on 3x3, like duh obviously! You might consider a shoulder hit as well :)
I wish you would do one on Park Yeong-hun. One of my favourites. I'm doing a long series on Cho Chikun at the moment :) Really helping my game. Each pro game review can be cashed in for a 5 game win streak on KGS :) STUDY PRO GAMES PEOPLE!!!

I love these reviews Nick, they really give me a whole board perspective on the world of Go.
Love your pro game reviews!
I might not be a dan player, but it helps a lot to my overall understanding. And shapes.
Thnx!

+Dontbtme That was my takeaway too. Both players uncomfortable? No problem. One player uncomfortable? They've lost.
2:45 - I find it really charming that Park Jung Hwan believes he's weak at attacking because his rival is really great at attacking.

"Yup yup yup" hello ducky
When are you reviewing one of Otake Hideo's games?
Park's territorial style is like Andrew while Kim is as aggressive as Nick lol
This game feels oddly familiar. Was this commentated on the AGA YT channel?
