I have the B&S use it for 3 consecutive months after hurricane Maria hit PR ,for a refrigerator, 3 LED TV,2 PS4 , cable box and some lights for 6 hours in a gallon tank.awesome machine
I was hoping someone would make a side-by-side video like this, so thank you! You can hear the Honda is quieter, but the B&S is 1/2 the $$ of the Honda. I've heard Honda is good quality. I have a 1 y/o B&S P2200. So far, some rattles, but works good. Also have a B&S lawnmower which is 10 years old. The mower body/frame rusted & had to be replaced, but the motor starts every time! Never burns oil.
Honda sounds a lot better and quieter @0:22 @0:34 for Honda without and with eco throttle respectively and @1:16 @1:24 for the Briggs. Click on them quickly back and forth to hear the real differences.
Agree, also the sound frequency seemed lower (Honda) which makes it less annoying to the ears. Did anyone else notice the very slight uneven running (RPM) of the B &S for when eco mode was on or off?
Sorry, this tells you nothing really. I am an industrial hygienist and a certified hearing conservationist. Without a sound level meter you can't definitively determine which is louder. Additionally if you want to get down to it a sound level meter with an octave band analyzer will be more definitive.
Maybe sometimes its just the tone of the noise that makes a difference. I would prefer a lower tone but louder dB rather than a higher tone with lower dB.
If you can't hear the difference between the two especially on eco mode then you have hearing problems. The Honda is far quieter, you don't need a sound meter to tell. I'm impressed. I also can't afford the Honda so I would just build a cheap sound suppression barrier with fiberglass to dampen the noise of the noisy generator. Far less expensive option.

How has the Briggs held up? I want to get the b&s Q6500 for camping.
That's the point! ;)
Mister without a sound meter you cannot distinguish which one is quieter
If you can't tell the difference then they're the same.
highly recommend this purchase!

Thank you. I just found a great deal on a BNS. Any information is helpful to me thanks so much
The big difference between these two is about $600..... sorry Honda but B&S has ALWAYS put out a good motor. I got my P2200 for $600, shipped
The Briggs will be silent in 4 years while the Honda won’t
I have a Honda 536 HRD lawnmower from 1996, starts every time on first pull :-) Looks like it comes out of a war zone :-)
So, you are saying the Briggs will be Dead
Honda is better overall
Is the Briggs quieter than the A-ipower 2000w generator ?
It's about the same if you have the AiPower with the Yamaha engine then the AiPower is as quiet as the Honda.
A-ipower turned out to be junk went into overload mode and never recovered returned and bought a Firman way better option

Yes you can

B&S cost half the price of the Honda, for a few db more or less worst it. I can buy 2 B&S,
Honda is way quieter
Honda is double in price as well. They're both about 65 decibils
The B&S rattles a lot.
El honda suena menos
Hahahaha
Own one - Noisy as F*** spent more time in repair shop, just stops starting...
