It kinda goes both ways in the NBA, too, though. Even in this game, you saw post entry passes that were too late. Some players fail to recognize easy size overmatches. Grizz will definitely get better at it.

Nah he Landed in the perfect situation. JJJs versatility defensively makes up for Edeys weaknesses at that end. Also Ja is showing this season how underrated of a leader he is on the court. He’s constantly coaching the rook and making sure he’s not getting down on himself when he makes mistakes. Not to mention Ja has really dialed down the scoring to get his guys involved more and surprisingly being a superstar will allow the rookie to get plenty of post touches every game. He went exactly where he was supposed to go…. Other teams wouldn’t know what to do with him.

The best argument someone made for him during the draft process was that defensively there were already several drop coverage Cs like Jonas Valanciunas in the league playing big minutes on the basis of their offensive contributions, their rebounding and rim protection. From that point on I was sold he’d be a draft steal if he ended up with a team who planned to use his strengths and minimize his weaknesses and Memphis is doing that.

It’s coach’s fault to not call his play for the tie. Lob to him, he can either make a short range hook shot or kick out for a three, rather it ended up as a sloppy play without even making a shot!

Rasheed Wallace said he should be no.1 pick
i got to admit that Zach Edey and Shappeard are top 3 picks
    definitely not Sarr or Risacher

My favorite thing about Edey is that he doesn't try to block shots into the third row--and just give the ball back to the other team. He blocks it to a teammate to start the fast break. Bill Russell's number is retired on ever team for doing just that.

Yves Missi is super nice though and looking like one of the steals of this dradt. Plus, the Grizzlies picked before the Pels anyways so I'm not sure how they could've taken him.

Edey had a mismatch nearly all night and they only went to him occaisionally. If they'd gone to his mismatch more the Griz would have won this game and Edey'd be over 30 points easily. He's gonna see alot fo these mismatch situations all season cause the NBA is a bunch of beanpoles. Use the coaching brain cells and go to your obvious mismatches DUH
