The near impossibly of one immaculate inning alone is amazing, but two in the same game, to the same 3 batters, is utterly unthinkable!
Two in one game has never occurred before
Yes, the near impossibility...
@@ryanneyland2997 2 on the same day among all games played that day has never occurred before!
I don't understand it all but I'm happy. I love my ASTROS❤
@@kdubkdub1523 it is very rare for a pitcher to strike out the side on 9 pitches. It's called an immaculate inning. The Astros managed to do it twice in one game
Broadcaster: Phil Maton is thrilled as he walked off the mound.
Phil Maton: :|
That's how Maton is, he's not very emotional 😀
I don’t think I’ve ever seen his face not have that emotion on it 😂
Haha exactly
Todd Kalis is great
That’s Maton for you.
Don’t care face: :/
Happy face: :/
Maton always makes me laugh. He seems bored out there half the time. His heartbeat must be 10 beats per minute. Great teammate too.
Bro got copied by a bot 💀
@@Wesdahlmanexcuse me?
I don’t see anyone giving credit to the announcers for realizing this was happening and calling it live
Facts unlike the Twins announcers who missed their back to back to back hrs last week
@@niggatron4072 I usually watch the opposing team's feeds to see how they react to the team I follow (the 'Stros). There are some flat out awful broadcast duos out there announcing games, and some former players who were terrible in their playing days and remain terrible in their talking days.
@@penonation The Rangers announcers are aweful.
@@niggatron4072 based user name. Based Niggatron
It’s always nice listening to the commentary
Maton's expression walking off the field says, "Thank God I didn't screw that up."
I watched it on TV when it happened and I saw Phil Maton walking to the dugout trying his hardest to not smile
its hilarious how hard hes trying to hold his smile
Please post positive proof pronto

Great call by TK and Blum as well… 😆 “Maton is thrilled!” 😂
easily one of the best announcer teams around along with Julia. MLB should do themselves a favor and fire joe buck for the playoffs and bring them in.
Statistically this won't happen again for several hundred years at least, but because this is baseball, it could happen tomorrow.
This game is beautiful
Maton's excitement cannot be contained 😂
You are 3 times more likely to see a no-hitter than you are an immaculate inning... Unreal.
Dude this was awesome. I'll never forget reading the Wiki for past immaculate innings then refreshing and seeing it changed again. Go Stros!
“Phil Maton is thrilled!”
Hahahahahahaha! Perfect.
This is officially more rare than hitting a bird with a 98 mph fastball
Uhhhhhh
No it’s not lmao
This has happened once, and as far as I know the bird strike has happened once. Tie.
@@jonhall4602 yeah but the likeliness of the bird incident happening again is basically nothing. This is very much possible to happen again considering how pitching is evolving.
@@georgewashington3322 Stop hating . Astros are your Daddy!!!!
Pitching coach: Phil you just threw a second immaculate inning!!! What do you think about that?
Phil Maton: blinks once
It was against the same hitters too lmao
Okay so, the pitchers are cheating too right?
@@texasrepojoe8917 ur just a mad Rangers fan 😂 u know who the better lone star team is
@@texasrepojoe8917 bro what
@@texasrepojoe8917 Yep, they knew exactly what pitch was coming. Really should get jomboys ears to see if there was any whistles or trashcans.
LMAO 🤣
Astros fan since '86.
The pitchers know which pitches are coming... that's great. Better check for buzzers... after 2 immaculate innings.
This is crazy lol FIRST time in mlb history
As an Astros fan, I'm not supposed to feel bad for the opposing team, but it was THE SAME THREE DUDES. What do you say to those three? "Keep your heads up. Look at it this way, you could not fail so abjectly like that again."
Clearly Astros pitchers knew which pitches were coming…
🤣🤣🤣
Damn. You got me there
One of, if not, THE best comment I've seen in a while 🤣
Hahha
Lol
If there ever are two immaculate innings in the same game again...it won't be to the same three batters, guaranteed! This will NEVER be done again!
We won't be alive next time this happens.
Never say never, remember, this is baseball, but, I do agree
“Phil Maton, is THRILLED as he walks off the mound”
That was hilarious 😂
That's what Maton looks like when he's thrilled! 🤣
Maton when he’s mad: 😐
Maton when he’s sad: 😐
Maton when he’s thrilled: 😐
"Phil Maton is thrilled" I laughed so hard
The Rangers were immaculated
Oh, Bravo. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I don’t think this will ever happen again.
You can not really say ever but it's so rare this is the first time it happened twice in a game in 150 years of baseball.
@@jamescook6564 obviously because it happened once it can happen again but the odds of it are so low that it is within the realm of possibility that it will never happen again
Legendary.
Maton gives me T-1000 vibes😂
What are the odds? Got to be astronomical

This is the sort of event Nostradamus should have cryptically predicted. Amazing feat. To throw 9 strikes in a row is one thing and impressive. To have two different pitchers throw 9 strikes in a row in the same game is ridiculous. To have the same 3 SO victims in both of those innings is mind boggling.
The Maton walking back commentary after his immaculate inning made this even better. Lol
An MLB record that will never be broken, because to break it you'd have to do it THREE times to the same three guys. No way.

Did the second pitcher just throw 9 straight fastballs?? lol

I was at this game and I had no freaking clue that this happened. It might have been that I was in left field and couldn’t really see whether it was a ball or a strike but I can now say I saw history that has never happened ever
Luis Garcia = #77
Phil Maton = #88
Martín Maldonado = #15
------------
7+7+8+8+1+5 = 36
3+6 = 9
9 strikes = Immaculate Inning
uh...wow
First time in MLB history , COOL !
Maton fed them all high fastballs, mostly hitting that upper left part of the zone and they couldn’t touch it. That rising fastball is no joke
No chance any of us see this again in our lifetimes.
I'm 47 yrs old, been watching the Astros all my life and never even heard of an immaculate inning until yesterday.
I’d be willing to bet this feat will never be done again
Count ‘em, two IMMACULATE innings for the ‘Stros!! Congratulations García/Maton🤘🏼
#SpaceCity #LevelUp #HistoryMade 💯🔥
To be fair, Maton was all smiles once he got in the dugout. That's also the first time I've ever seen him smile. lol
Garcia's nickname is really El Inmaculada.
We call Phil Maton a bot for his lack of emotion on the field 🤣 happy for these two guys
AutoMaton.
This might have restored some respect I had for the Astros. That's really cool.
You should respect them. They are great. They were scapegoats.
@@tylerbattles7918 Unfortunately, looking beyond that reveals the rest of the hate; The You-Know-What.
In the second immaculate inning, Neither the pitcher, nor the catcher, nor the entire Rangers broadcast crew had a clue what happened.
Maton's nickname should be "El Gato" not for his agility or quickness but rather for his demeanor
Those three players will be the answer to a baseball trivia question one day.
I love baseball.⚾️⚾️⚾️
That’s amazing. Glad it was against those Rangers. Haha
I remember watching this game live one afternoon at work.
Oh man, i thought the title said Astros Pitcher. Not Plural. I was thinking Garcia had two in one game!

Two immaculate innings has never happened before in the history of MLB. How is anyone supposed to be prepared for that?

Nicely edited video! Thanks for sharing a historic feat that probably will never be done again.
Actually incredible! This pillar franchise’s back must hurt from carrying the league for so long! Great content

👏👏👏 wow..
It was either this or the no hitter in Yankee stadium when I realized we were going to win it all. Every season where the Astros have won the WS I’ve felt something special happen and either this or the no hitter was when I realized
First tic tac toe and now pitchers playing horse lol

Wow it’s already been 2 years, this won’t ever happen again
It was a strike when they threw it to Alvarez
TWO pitches were called strikes that were clearly out of the strike zone in that one at-bat. Only way pitchers can get the Big Guy out these days is with the umpire's help.
Wow. Crazy!
And they all play 1B, 2B, 3B in that order; lol. Must be a silent ride home.
There have been 107 immaculate innings in major league history, including these 2.
There have been 316 no hitters.
3 times as rare as a no no, 2 in one game.
Weird and freaky but so cool! ⚾️
Even freakier ... same three batters. 😲
Yep. I think the next rarest feat in MLB baseball history was the unassisted triple-play - done only 15 times. Except for the only father/son HR in the same game - by Griffey Sr. and Griffery Jr. - this is is very likely the only time this incrdible accomplisment will ever happen in a MLB game. And for you foks saying Johnson hitting a bird may never happen again, yada, yada, yada, that wasn't a "feat", that was just merely a freakish thing that happened in baseball and is not within the playing rules of the game.
Phil Maton, ice water in the veins!!! Kobe!!

hahahahaha awesome
The Ranger's announcer called this a statistical impossibility.
The day before, the same Ranger's announcers were discussing Vladimir Guerrero and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr.
It seems the father and son duo had the same number of home runs during the same number of games. Also, statistically impossible.
Which begs the question, is reality breaking down?
Needless to say as I pondered these things, this video shows up in my You Tube feed.
