@@gusbr3akroom278 He is a very diligent and talented singer, practicing 9 hours per day when he has no performance. His strong passion to sing to his best shows his love for singing. In 2020, he had 101 stage performances which showed that he is a very hard-working and well-loved singer. The stage designs for this super-star are all spectacular. The band and orchestra players love him so much that they often clap hands to show their applause and appreciations after his live performances with them. He is very humble and often bows to thanks all the musicians and workers. He was often invited to perform in the festive days and he had to fly to different provinces all over China. Many producers of the shows have to compete for his performance as his singing never fails the audience which his presence is often a sure guarantee of gaining super audience ratings.

Oh, I'm so glad you finally reacted to Zhou Shen (Zhou sounds like Joe). Some background on him. His voice never really descended when he hit puberty and he was bullied when he was younger. He had a passion for singing, but even his parents said he didn't have the look of a star (he's also short at 5'3). Don't get me wrong. His parents loved him. Every culture is different. He dropped the music and ended up studying dentistry in the Ukraine, but with the language barrier and the pull of music was too great, he wanted to pursue his passion. He tries to combine classical and contemporary, which suits his voice. He's amazing!! He speaks multiple languages and sings in about 12. Beside doing 6 voices in this song, Zhou Shen has sung "Let It GO" in 9 different international languages. He did not earn his popularity with a macho voice, rather his wide vocal range and unique voice blended with his music smart make it possible for him to sing any type of songs to please a big variety of audience. His successes are the result of the combination of his super talents and hard work. This young has worked so hard in the last 30 days or so when he had performed in the Mid Autumn Festival, Beijing Film Festival, China National Day and many many others that i have lost count on how many songs he has done in such a short span of time. It is just humanly not possible!

Yan Doris's comments are spot on. My favorites are Big Fish and Ring the Doorbell. With Ring the Doorbell, the composer of the song spent years trying to find the perfect singer to premiere his song. Charlie tried out for it once, but was rejected. Two years later, Charlie tried again and finally got approval for it. When you see the performance, you can see how Zhou Shen was the perfect person for the song.
please check out his excellent performances from Singer 2020 and Super Vocal 2018, and make sure "ring the doorbell and listen by (my/your)self"(Singer2020 episode 10) on the list. It's a very different unusual but must-known side of Zhou Shen. Zhou Shen is definitely the most popular singer in China right now, an ear blesser.

To tell you a bit of his background. He got bullied when he was young just because his voice didn't change when puberty came but that was not his choice and people called him names..... because of that he didn't sing in front of people for a long time and he even tried to tone down his voice when he speaks. It takes a long time for him to accept his own voice again and gets where he is now.
He has studied Dentistry in Ukraine when he was young but because of the language barriers, he changes to studied Classical music there instead. His goal is to combine Classical and Pop music together to introduce to those who didn't know what Classical music is. His vocal range is very wide and his breath control is very good. He is a polite, funny, and humble guy.
He can sing at least over 12 different languages. He can even sing 6 different voices in one song which is what you guys are reacting to on this video. He also got a song that sings without lyrics, just by humming, and still touches our souls. His music has so many different genres.
If you are willing to dig into his performances, you will be amazed by his talents. A lot of music can heal people's bodies but not many can heal people,'s, souls. Zhou Shen's music is one of them that can heal your soul. Thank you again for reacting to Zhou Shen's performance.

Really hard to tell which song... There're sooooo many songs that represent a different version of him, in varying languages as well...... One of his iconic songs is Big Fish, which obviously has multiple versions, from the original movie theme song, to live, to duet, pick any and it will still sound great. For English songs, my personal favorite from him is "This is me". Yet, another song that comes to my mind is his cover for "Unravel", which is in Japanese. So forgive me, is impossible for me to just pick one. I still have dozens to go. But I will just pause for now.

Charlie Zhou is not only singing this song,but telling a story and playing every characters in the story. Amzing !
Calm down guys, 1st thing 1st, this video is not a pre recorded video like those music videos it is an actual live recording bcos it was a competition between professional singers in The Singer China back in 2020. As a fan of Charlie Zhou Shen, I was in awe by this performance of his as I didn't know the real talent of this incredible young man until he performed this on a live show!!! You probably would like to check out some of his other performances in the same show 👉 The Singer, China 2020 as he gave many more excellent performances, 2 of which was recorded live from his bedroom during pandemic lockdown. And boy he sings beautifully, not scream but really sing! But pls exclude the song he performed with a band during the semi bcoz it was arranged for him to makesure he wouldn't proceed to the final (as the way I see it) His voice is beautiful & angelic, his signature song is Big Fish or 大鱼 & he sings in multiple languages. Another few which amaze me no matter how many times I play them are 'Song of the Paradise Island', 'Ring the door bell', 'Tokyo Ghaul', 'Rubia' & 'Monster' 🥰 Tqvm for doing a reaction video on Charlie Zhou Shen 👍🥰 and pls dun compare him to other singers like Dimash etc bcos they sing different genres of songs ya 😉

Zhou Shen grew up in a very remote village in Southern China; bullied and criticized for his female/girly voice. His parents decided to send him to Ukraine studying Dentistry but he went to music school to study classical music instead. After six years struggling in China entertainment industry, he finally broke into the center stage for his beautiful angelic voice; full emotion touching singing liked by many.

One thing that Zhou Shen insisted is that he NEVER do any lip syncing, so you are not listening to a recording but live music. That's what's really amazing about him, because he really respect his career as a singer but not an idol. I wish there are more singers like him. Some background to this song, Da La Beng Ba, is about Dragon Quest, a game developed in the 80s. Written in 2017, the song is about this young man, Da La Beng Ba, who fought bravely against the dragon to save the king’s daughter, and at the end married her and have their own baby.
In this version, Zhou Shen delivered very well all characters, a little girl, the king, the brave young man, the dragon, and also the narrator. You know, even for a Chinese speaker, the lyrics are hard, cos just the name of the characters are unusual. For example, Da La Beng Ba’s full name is Da La Beng Ba Ban De Bei Di Bu Duo Bi Lu Weng, which is impossibly long and are just meaningless sounds.
The fact that it was first written for the Vocaloid competition and was sung by two AI characters, this song is extra difficult to sing, as there is little space for breathing in between lines. Zhou Shen is simply unbelievable.

It's actually a bit hard to "hear him go" because his belief is that the vocal techniques used in a song should serve the music and not to so-call "show-off". A reason why he's so amazing is that he's able to subtly pull off a lot of techniques. His most notable song is his ballad, with many Chinese cultural influences, titled Big Fish (I like the performance from Singer 2020 the most). If you want to "hear him go" try Ring The Doorbell (also from the program Singer 2020)
