Beside doing 6 voices in this song, Zhou Shen has sung "Let It GO" in 9 different international languages. He did not earn his popularity with a macho voice, rather his wide vocal range and unique voice blended with his music smart make it possible for him to sing any type of songs to please a big variety of audience. His successes are the result of the combination of his super talents and hard work. This young has worked so hard in the last 30 days or so when he had performed in the Mid Autumn Festival, Beijing Film Festival, China National Day and many many others that i have lost count on how many songs he has done in such a short span of time. It is just humanly not possible!
Really hard to tell which song... There're sooooo many songs that represent a different version of him, in varying languages as well...... One of his iconic songs is Big Fish, which obviously has multiple versions, from the original movie theme song, to live, to duet, pick any and it will still sound great. For English songs, my personal favorite from him is "This is me". Yet, another song that comes to my mind is his cover for "Unravel", which is in Japanese. So forgive me, is impossible for me to just pick one. I still have dozens to go. But I will just pause for now.

In 2020, he had 101 stage performances which showed that he is a very hard-working and well-loved singer. The stage designs for this super-star are all spectacular. The band and orchestra players love him so much that they often clap hands to show their applause and appreciations after his live performances with them. He is very humble and often bows to thanks all the musicians and workers. He was often invited to perform in the festive days and he had to fly to different provinces all over China. Many producers of the shows have to compete for his performance as his singing never fails the audience which his presence is often a sure guarantee of gaining super audience ratings.

As a fan of Charlie Zhou Shen, I was in awe by this performance of his as I didn't know the real talent of this incredible young man until he performed this on a live show!!! Some background to this song, Da La Beng Ba, is about Dragon Quest, a game developed in the 80s. Written in 2017, the song is about this young man, Da La Beng Ba, who fought bravely against the dragon to save the king’s daughter, and at the end married her and have their own baby. In this version, Zhou Shen delivered very well all characters, a little girl, the king, the brave young man, the dragon, and also the narrator. You know, even for a Chinese speaker, the lyrics are hard, cos just the name of the characters are unusual. For example, Da La Beng Ba’s full name is Da La Beng Ba Ban De Bei Di Bu Duo Bi Lu Weng, which is impossibly long and are just meaningless sounds. The fact that it was first written for the Vocaloid competition and was sung by two AI characters, this song is extra difficult to sing, as there is little space for breathing in between lines. Zhou Shen is simply unbelievable.

One thing that Zhou Shen insisted is that he NEVER do any lip syncing, so you are not listening to a recording but live music. That's what's really amazing about him, because he really respect his career as a singer but not an idol. I wish there are more singers like him. It's actually a bit hard to "hear him go" because his belief is that the vocal techniques used in a song should serve the music and not to so-call "show-off". A reason why he's so amazing is that he's able to subtly pull off a lot of techniques. His most notable song is his ballad, with many Chinese cultural influences, titled Big Fish (I like the performance from Singer 2020 the most). If you want to "hear him go" try Ring The Doorbell (also from the program Singer 2020)

"Think of Me" (his concert version), "Memory" and "The Lonely Goatherd" (in the Super Vocal 2018) are my favorites. I hope one day you would also find Tia Ray, a Jazz singer. She's one of the contestants together with Hua Chen Yu and Zhou Shen on that very stage--"The Singer2020". Her song "Love can fly" was really good and so far not many people outside China did reaction video on it.

haha This song is sort of an homage to video games and pokes fun at the ridiculous names some NPCs have, especially when the name is a Chinese translation from a foreign name. The name of this song is DA-LA-BENG-BA and was originally sung by a software application similar to Vocaloid. His rendition is the first time a human has ever sung the entire song (portraying the different characters) by himself. The characters he sang as are: - Little girl - Young Man (the Warrior aka the hero) - The King - The Narrator (Zhou Shen himself) - The Dragon - The Princess - The baby You can ignore the translated lyrics - yes, it's wrong and it's very difficult to translate because some characters in this 'story' have ridiculously long names that are tongue twisters (which take up almost half of the song time). I'm damned amazed he can repeatedly sang out the names without twisting his tongue lol... Here's the story (based on a typical RPG story) as sung: A princess was kidnapped by a dragon which brought havoc to a kingdom, so the king asked for a brave warrior/hero to rescue his daughter and kingdom. Beside doing 6 voices in this song, Zhou Shen has sung "Let It GO" in 9 different international languages. He did not earn his popularity with a macho voice, rather his wide vocal range and unique voice blended with his music smart make it possible for him to sing any type of songs to please a big variety of audience. His successes are the result of the combination of his super talents and hard work. This young has worked so hard in the last 30 days or so when he had performed in the Mid Autumn Festival, Beijing Film Festival, China National Day and many many others that i have lost count on how many songs he has done in such a short span of time. Really hard to tell which song... There're sooooo many songs that represent a different version of him, in varying languages as well...... One of his iconic songs is Big Fish, which obviously has multiple versions, from the original movie theme song, to live, to duet, pick any and it will still sound great. For English songs, my personal favorite from him is "This is me". Yet, another song that comes to my mind is his cover for "Unravel", which is in Japanese. So forgive me, is impossible for me to just pick one. I still have dozens to go. But I will just pause for now.

Calm down guys, 1st thing 1st, this video is not a pre recorded video like those music videos it is an actual live recording bcos it was a competition between professional singers in The Singer China back in 2020. As a fan of Charlie Zhou Shen, I was in awe by this performance of his as I didn't know the real talent of this incredible young man until he performed this on a live show!!! You probably would like to check out some of his other performances in the same show 👉 The Singer, China 2020 as he gave many more excellent performances, 2 of which was recorded live from his bedroom during pandemic lockdown. And boy he sings beautifully, not scream but really sing! But pls exclude the song he performed with a band during the semi bcoz it was arranged for him to makesure he wouldn't proceed to the final (as the way I see it) His voice is beautiful & angelic, his signature song is Big Fish or 大鱼 & he sings in multiple languages. Some background to this song, Da La Beng Ba, is about Dragon Quest, a game developed in the 80s. Written in 2017, the song is about this young man, Da La Beng Ba, who fought bravely against the dragon to save the king’s daughter, and at the end married her and have their own baby.
In this version, Zhou Shen delivered very well all characters, a little girl, the king, the brave young man, the dragon, and also the narrator. You know, even for a Chinese speaker, the lyrics are hard, cos just the name of the characters are unusual. For example, Da La Beng Ba’s full name is Da La Beng Ba Ban De Bei Di Bu Duo Bi Lu Weng, which is impossibly long and are just meaningless sounds.
The fact that it was first written for the Vocaloid competition and was sung by two AI characters, this song is extra difficult to sing, as there is little space for breathing in between lines. Zhou Shen is simply unbelievable.

I followed this singer project because of huahua, I knew zhou shen before. But when he sang this song, I knew he will get the first prize in this episode.
Zhou Shen is a wonderful singer, with a beautiful and sweet voice that is almost soothing to the heart and soul. He has many beautiful interpretations that you could discover just by looking up his name. I would very much like you to hear and react to a singer who was part of that same show called JAM HSIAO mainly to two songs: HAUNTING ME and DANCE MONKEY's version of him.

One thing that Zhou Shen insisted is that he NEVER do any lip syncing, so you are not listening to a recording but live music. That's what's really amazing about him, because he really respect his career as a singer but not an idol. I wish there are more singers like him. It's actually a bit hard to "hear him go" because his belief is that the vocal techniques used in a song should serve the music and not to so-call "show-off". A reason why he's so amazing is that he's able to subtly pull off a lot of techniques. His most notable song is his ballad, with many Chinese cultural influences, titled Big Fish (I like the performance from Singer 2020 the most). If you want to "hear him go" try Ring The Doorbell (also from the program Singer 2020)
That is Singer show. You can pre-record your chorus or backing voice, but the main you must sing live, ad-lib is prohibited. This is actually him singing which explains why the others are so shocked.

All those who have listened to his songs long for attending his own concert to see him performing live. He is full of energy and positive attitude. He is also very kind that he often has free performances for the needy. He is very generous in donating money to help the victims in natural disasters even when he was still leading a meager living along his career several years ago.We really respect his loving heart and good personality.

He just passed his birthday on 29 September and sang live for 3.5 hour ,more than 45 songs, 25 millions viewers, totally Free of Charge. So much good things about him to tell you all. 👍 I enjoy the journey traveling with you and glad you found Zhou Shen. Zhou Shen did many nice cover songs in different languages. "Think of Me" (his concert version), "Memory" and "The Lonely Goatherd" (in the Super Vocal 2018) are my favorites. I hope one day you would also find Tia Ray, a Jazz singer. She's one of the contestants together with Hua Chen Yu and Zhou Shen on that very stage--"The Singer2020". Her song "Love can fly" was really good and so far not many people outside China did reaction video on it.

Like most Asian singers they perform their songs live. I love Zhou Shen [Joe Shun]. Although he uses many voices in this performance, this is not what he is noted for. haha This song is sort of an homage to video games and pokes fun at the ridiculous names some NPCs have, especially when the name is a Chinese translation from a foreign name. The name of this song is DA-LA-BENG-BA and was originally sung by a software application similar to Vocaloid. His rendition is the first time a human has ever sung the entire song (portraying the different characters) by himself. The characters he sang as are: - Little girl - Young Man (the Warrior aka the hero) - The King - The Narrator (Zhou Shen himself) - The Dragon - The Princess - The baby
You can ignore the translated lyrics - yes, it's wrong and it's very difficult to translate because some characters in this 'story' have ridiculously long names that are tongue twisters (which take up almost half of the song time). I'm damned amazed he can repeatedly sang out the names without twisting his tongue lol... Here's the story (based on a typical RPG story) as sung: A princess was kidnapped by a dragon which brought havoc to a kingdom, so the king asked for a brave warrior/hero to rescue his daughter and kingdom. He was very pleased when a warrior appeared and said: with his trusty sword, he'll cross mountains and other perils to rescue the princess.
The king then asked for the warrior's name, thus begin the first part of a very long and tongue twisting introduction of his name (Dalabengba is the 'first' of a series of long name. It's somewhat similar to this: Daenerys Targaryen Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Stormborn, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons, the Unburnt, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea). The king then asked the warrior to repeat his name again.
After the introduction, the warrior rode off on his horse to rescue the princess. After leveling up and collecting items/treasures from various chests (you can hear the coin sound similar to Mario's coin theme), the warrior finally found the dragon. When they first met, the dragon announced his name (another very long and tongue twisting name) to the warrior - who misheard thus mispronounced the dragon's name. The dragon corrected him by announcing his name again (in Bel Canto style lol). Anyway, they finally fought which ended in the death of the dragon. After rescuing and bringing the princess back to her kingdom, the warrior married the princess and they had a cute baby. The song ended with the warrior giving his son a short name.🤣

actually my journey to chinese singers also started with hua chenyu.....but it did not take long that i stumbled over zhou shen.....his voice range is extraordinary.....this song he sang at the `singer`competition is really funny if you know a little of the background.....it is an old story of a king, a princess, a dragon and a hero. he switches between 5 different voices. the fifth being the narrator of the story....and the 6th. the baby of princess and hero. and all the names are tongue twisters, an extra challenge........
BTW Zhou Shen is a counter-tenor but he can hit soprano range.
