Yay! So happy you circled back around to Zhou Shen! This was a competition/show called Super Vocal, the contestants were vying for a principal spot in the bel canto group formed at the end. Zhou Shen didn’t win (!?!🤯) - but the guy that was watching & doing the grandiose arm movements along with the music (you guys stopped to comment on him) - he did end up as one of the winners. It IS a competition though, but a lot of the participants have worked together before as they're all already accomplished opera/musical theatre singers, or Uni students/singers in training. It's just friendly and wholesome competing between friends and acquaintances. In fact two of the contestants (both in the winners line-up!!) were college roommates and have been friends for 10+ years and you can always catch them looking at each other proudly when one of them performs.

Yes, he can speak fluently 6 languages (Chinese, English, Ukraine, russian, polish, italian). He can sing well Japanese, French, Thailand,... He is really a "Monster". So please listen to "Monster" - Singer 2020 by Zhou Shen.
Isn’t he incredible? Zhou Shen is my second favorite Chinese artist behind Hua Chen Yu. He will always be on my playlist. He posts a lot of videos from home where he sings acapella. Simply amazing.
For a look at what going to a gig might be like check out 'My Heart Will Go on' (you could compare his version to that of Dimash), or the fan cam of 'Think of Me'. If he did a gig in the UK I would be there in a heartbeat. You asked about the other contestants. Sadly Charlie Zhou Shen was not in the final six of this competition (a travesty!). The guy who spreads his arms in the musical interlude is Goa Tianhe, in a sense he was Charlie's direct competition being another counter tenor - he was in the final 6 and can be seen as part of the Super Vocal Boys who performed a Queen medley with Dimash. Personally I preferred Charlie. The guy playing air violin is Elvis Wang. Elvis Wang is pretty well known internationally, he is a bass. He and Charlie are exactly an octave apart. Later in the competition they perform a duet (just put both their names in and it will come up). They also sang 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' as part of a trio, which is worth a listen. Charlie and Elvis Wang have a great friendship as can be seen by their interactions during Super Vocal (the English Subs of the series on TH-cam don't always match up but are fine on DailyMotion) The younger of the male judges is Henry Lau a brilliant singer, violinist and dancer, a Canadian now based in South Korea where he was part of a Kpop group. Henry is well worth checking out and he performed a mashup of 'Despacito and Mission Impossible' on the show. A trio performance of 'Per Te Ci Saro' on super vocal is simply marvellous - only one of the three made it to the final six and is also part of the Super Vocal Boys. Later in 2019 Charlie Zhou Shen was in another competition (Chinese Idol Our Song season 2) where an older star and up-coming star formed a pair to compete against others . One of the others was Ayunga who was in the final 6 of Super Vocal. Charlie and Ayunga are friends as can be seen by their interaction on the show. Charlie performed with Hacken Lee and they won - all of their performances, and the show, are well worth a watch. After that came The Singer 2020 where Charlie Zhou Shen and Hua Chenyu competed, you have reacted to a couple of the performances from that. Hua Hua won. Also in the competition were Super Vocal Boys. SVB seem to no longer be around after one of them admitted to identity theft of grades to get into University. Elvis Wang is currently in a competition with Dimash (Shine! Brothers season 2). 21 established singers are competing. Three episodes are available on TH-cam the next is due on Saturday in which Dimash and Wang as part of a six part group will perform a couple of Queen songs. Like the others it is a three month competition. In episode two Dimash sings a more than slightly different version of 'Stanger' and the usually melodic bass Elvis Wang sings a rock version of song. Stranger is up as a separate vid but Wangs 'My little Donkey' is sadly not. The "SUPER VOCAL" is a talent contest basically of the lyrical genre, on that occasion Zhou Shen was a guest and was part of some of the presentations along with the winners of that year. It is really beautiful to hear him sing, he has very beautiful songs and his voice is almost like a "calming drug" for the soul. Some singers may singer higher pitches, like Vitas. Some may have more power voices such as Celine Dion. But Shen Zhou (Joe) has the most touching and agelic voice. Sorry I did not use "one of". You can find many great songs by him. I would recommend Time to say goodbye and Dalabengba. He presented 6 or 7 characters in the latter. You will realize you folks have found a treasure. Charlie Zhou Shen has a very special talent. It’s not his voice, it’s not his singing skill. It is his special warm feeling in his song that will directly hit into your heart. Even he is singing a very sad song he can give you a warm touch to heal your pain. So many songs I cried with his singing that I were never experiencing that before, and after I heard his singing I release the tension and feel much better. I am highly suggesting you may find the lyrics translation before reacting the songs, so you can really understand and touch by his performances.

He studied bel canto in Ukraine, so the languages that he is definitely fluent in are Ukrainian and Russian. He also studied Italian during his university. Plus, he love anime, and that's why he knows a little bit Japanese as well. Such a treasure boy eh?)

It IS a competition though, but a lot of the participants have worked together before as they're all already accomplished opera/musical theatre singers, or Uni students/singers in training. It's just friendly and wholesome competing between friends and acquaintances. In fact two of the contestants (both in the winners line-up!!) were college roommates and have been friends for 10+ years and you can always catch them looking at each other proudly when one of them performs.

Yes, he can speak fluently 6 languages (Chinese, English, Ukraine, russian, polish, italian). He can sing well Japanese, French, Thailand,... He is really a "Monster". So please listen to "Monster" - Singer 2020 by Zhou Shen.
Isn’t he incredible? Zhou Shen is my second favorite Chinese artist behind Hua Chen Yu. He will always be on my playlist. He posts a lot of videos from home where he sings acapella. Simply amazing.
For a look at what going to a gig might be like check out 'My Heart Will Go on' (you could compare his version to that of Dimash), or the fan cam of 'Think of Me'. If he did a gig in the UK I would be there in a heartbeat.
You asked about the other contestants. Sadly Charlie Zhou Shen was not in the final six of this competition (a travesty!). The guy who spreads his arms in the musical interlude is Goa Tianhe, in a sense he was Charlie's direct competition being another counter tenor - he was in the final 6 and can be seen as part of the Super Vocal Boys who performed a Queen medley with Dimash. Personally I preferred Charlie. The guy playing air violin is Elvis Wang. Elvis Wang is pretty well known internationally, he is a bass. He and Charlie are exactly an octave apart. Later in the competition they perform a duet (just put both their names in and it will come up). They also sang 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' as part of a trio, which is worth a listen. Charlie and Elvis Wang have a great friendship as can be seen by their interactions during Super Vocal (the English Subs of the series on TH-cam don't always match up but are fine on DailyMotion) The younger of the male judges is Henry Lau a brilliant singer, violinist and dancer, a Canadian now based in South Korea where he was part of a Kpop group. Henry is well worth checking out and he performed a mashup of 'Despacito and Mission Impossible' on the show.
A trio performance of 'Per Te Ci Saro' on super vocal is simply marvellous - only one of the three made it to the final six and is also part of the Super Vocal Boys.
Later in 2019 Charlie Zhou Shen was in another competition (Chinese Idol Our Song season 2) where an older star and up-coming star formed a pair to compete against others . One of the others was Ayunga who was in the final 6 of Super Vocal. Charlie and Ayunga are friends as can be seen by their interaction on the show. Charlie performed with Hacken Lee and they won - all of their performances, and the show, are well worth a watch.
After that came The Singer 2020 where Charlie Zhou Shen and Hua Chenyu competed, you have reacted to a couple of the performances from that. Hua Hua won. Also in the competition were Super Vocal Boys. SVB seem to no longer be around after one of them admitted to identity theft of grades to get into University.
Elvis Wang is currently in a competition with Dimash (Shine! Brothers season 2). 21 established singers are competing. Three episodes are available on TH-cam the next is due on Saturday in which Dimash and Wang as part of a six part group will perform a couple of Queen songs. Like the others it is a three month competition. In episode two Dimash sings a more than slightly different version of 'Stanger' and the usually melodic bass Elvis Wang sings a rock version of song. Stranger is up as a separate vid but Wangs 'My little Donkey' is sadly not. The "SUPER VOCAL" is a talent contest basically of the lyrical genre, on that occasion Zhou Shen was a guest and was part of some of the presentations along with the winners of that year. It is really beautiful to hear him sing, he has very beautiful songs and his voice is almost like a "calming drug" for the soul. The one who made many movements with his hands was the coach of that song. Then there were the juries and the rest of the participants. Some singers may singer higher pitches, like Vitas. Some may have more power voices such as Celine Dion. But Shen Zhou (Joe) has the most touching and agelic voice. Sorry I did not use "one of". You can find many great songs by him. I would recommend Time to say goodbye and Dalabengba. He presented 6 or 7 characters in the latter. You will realize you folks have found a treasure. Bet $1 on it.

Charlie Zhou Shen has a very special talent. It’s not his voice, it’s not his singing skill. It is his special warm feeling in his song that will directly hit into your heart. Even he is singing a very sad song he can give you a warm touch to heal your pain. So many songs I cried with his singing that I were never experiencing that before, and after I heard his singing I release the tension and feel much better. I am highly suggesting you may find the lyrics translation before reacting the songs, so you can really understand and touch by his performances.
