Hi Ron. Kiesel and Strandberg are recognized as the two premier headless guitar makers. The general consensus is that Ned Steinberger was the first designer to achieve real success with his headless models back in the 80s, which originated when he worked for bass luthier, Stuart Spector. Strandberg was founded in 2007 by Swedish native Ola Strandberg. Kiesel is up there with Strandberg and Steinberger as one of the most recognizable headless brands. Kiesel Guitars has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1946 by Lowell Kiesel. Originally known as Carvin, the company started as a family-owned business in Southern California, specializing in the production of custom-made guitars and amplifiers. In 2015, the company underwent a rebranding and changed its name to Kiesel Guitars, honoring the Kiesel family's legacy and dedication to craftsmanship.

The device you asked about at 3:10 is called an E-Bow. Causes the guitar string to move as if you're hitting it with a violin bow. Makes a nice synth-like sound.
