I really enjoy how the core element of these manga falls somewhere in the general territory of "kingdom hearts but shoujo with girl protagonist", and it's SUCH a mood
We need more crossovers, I love to see more western media and entertainment transferring to mangas. I would love to see cartoon network or nickelodeon series adapted into a manga though I doubt they exist.
I mean if you like western x manga/anime things then Disney actually has a game called twisted wonderland with a manga and light novel that’s anime based ^^
Hmm, definitely seems cute and worth a read, but Kilala definitely has more of a plot and more likable characters. They were probably given a bit more time to develop Kilala. This one gives off heavy, "We tried out best, but we were rushed," vibes.
I initially found out about this manga through Kilala Princess because I’ve loved that series for as far as I can remember and randomly found it in a bookstore one day and was so happy that my mom let me get both volumes!
I think maybe people can see the Disney characters if the characters want to be seen (Stitch always been chaotic so probably doesn't mind being seen) and the cards probably are invisible. That's what I think is the case
3:18 Just a reminder, we didn't even get to see him until the end of Kingdom Hearts 1, and his name was cut off in the Kilala manga ("I just love Mickey - - !"), but Disney let them use MM here all of a sudden?
I would also argue that magical dance might have had a more scattered plot than kilala princess is that Nao Kodaka was only the artist of kilal, not the writer while she wrote and drew magical dance
This manga needs a massive rewrite. I was wondering, could you maybe do a rewrite of how you would imagine the manga to be like and how you would rewrite everything?
This is beyond coincidental! Last night I had my mind blown when my sister walked in my room and showed me vol 1 of a Tinkerbell manga. Exactly how much manga did Disney make? (Excluding Kilala and Kingdom Hearts)
Wow!! That’s cool. ✨ There are so many, but most are just retellings of the movies (Tangled, Princess and the Frog, The Nightmare Before Christmas) but there are some that are somewhat original! Other than Kilala, Magical Dance, and the TinkerBell ones- I know there’s 2 original Stitch manga series and there’s one that I own that features Marie from the Aristocats! (Video coming soon 👀) Thank you for commenting!
There’s a Tinkerbell manga? 🤔 I think I owned some of the actual Tinkerbell books and there was a bird or something…I think when I watched the movies I probably wondered where the bird would fit in😂
I remember my mom getting me this manga a couple years ago, it was one of my first manga that wasn't about cats (i'm a huge cat lover) and now i curently have the 1st volume of princess Kilala and plan on getting all the volumes since i am pretty intrested in the story
I have been thinking of this image inside of my head today. Since Akira Toriyama died, I wish that someone could do some super cute, yet super sad, chibi art of the two of them in a series of comic strip style panels. The first one is being at a Shinto funeral shrine and, at first, you do not know who it is, but you see two familiar faces in funeral garb, Goku in a three piece black and white suit, and Usagi being in a black dress and her red odango and little stubby chibi heels on her little chibi legs. The two of them are looking at each other all sad. The second little panel has a little chibi hand from Usagi on Goku's shoulder, and she says, "I know...he loved you like you were his son, and you loved him like he was your father. My mother loves me the same way, too, Goku". The third panel has a cute little closeup chibi face of Usagi continuing to talk to Goku, saying, "I know, that things are tough for you right now. We both fight against evil, and that's what we do in our lives. We both love role playing games, and you may be the tank, and I may be the mage, but, despite the unique ways that we fight against evil, we still stand against it every day. Things may be tough, but we're warriors, and I honestly don't care what anyone says, but true warriors fight, not against emotions, but for them, without being blinded by them, or necessarily wrongly guided by them, and there are also some of them that are honestly worth fighting for, so we also fight for those that we love, and that's what unites us, and that's also why we're best friends". The picture is a pained smile from Usagi. The fourth panel is one where Usagi is breaking with little chibi tear waterfalls on her face, and she says to Goku, "I want to say that I'm always here for you and that I'm also glad that we're best friends, Goku". The fifth picture has Goku, also with little tear waterfalls on his face, and he says, "Thanks, Usagi. I'm glad that we're best friends". The sixth panel has them having gushing chibi tear waterfalls from the both of them, as they are sitting on the ground, and you can see a little picture of Akira Toriyama on the shrine, and the two of them are on the ground, on their knees, hugging and having tear waterfalls gushing from their eyes, and having a "Waaaaah"! being spoken by the both of them as their little chibi mouths are open in sad ways. The seventh panel says, in plain text, "Good friends learn to emphasize and sympathize with you. Best friends will cry with you when you're crying. Sometimes, the toughest opponents are not on the battlefield, but within ourselves, as well as with adversity, circumstances, and loss". The eighth panel is also plain text, but it says, "When a warrior cries, it's not because they're weak, but because they cry to prove their strength, and because they have things to love for, things to live for, and things to fight for in their lives". The ninth panel says, "Rest in peace, Toriyama-senpai. You are the face of bishounen anime and manga, and you are also a legend in the video game community. You will be, and are, loved, and missed, by everyone". The tenth, and last, panel, simply says, "Akira Toriyama 1955-2024". Is that a good idea for a tribute comic? I wish that I was good with art, but I can't get this series of images, as well as words, out of my head.
Discover this manga already and I absolutely adore it. Not as high as Kilala Princess (will watch that eventually), but it was amazing seeing an original anime girl cross over with Disney characters. Am hoping we actually get a Disney+ series on this.
I bet Disney will make an anime Base't on the Disney Manga for Disney+ and Disney XD plus I think Rin looks hot. P.S. good work on the Review video on the Disney manga I love it.😃😍❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Just found out about ur channel. I do like magical girls altho I dont really watch all of them just because of the sheer number of them. Thanks for reviewing even the underrated ones
Hello there! Happy 2023! Hope you're doing well! You always put out quality conent and I love me some magical girls too! You deserve all the love and support in the world after all! Especially in the new year!
This video is Amazing, also a funny thing is that the first volume came out a day before I was born and on the same day Spongebob season 6 premiered. 😂😅
I had no idea this existed, it's so cute! As for knowing she could swim, I dunno, but l had something like it happen to me once. The lady at the counter refused to sell me cigarettes because l was underage. By 1 year, so it's not like she could tell from looking at me. So if she knew my age, she should also know l don't smoke, and only bought them for my mother.
We need more seires with clashing artsytles. Or better yet a bunch of non japanese animated characters in a japanese shonen anime style story and animation
Here’s a little question, have you heard of “balala the fairies” I think that’s the name, I’ve heard it called multiple things but it’s a Chinese magical girl show it’s it’s like sailor moon where some media is live action and some isn’t, I don’t know much about it but it looks cute.
Dance isnt as easy as it looks tho. Personal experience. Also the game in the background. I'm pretty sure i still own that exact game somewhere. I forgot what it was called tho but i so remember it. The different princesses and the different little stories to play. I remember it all
I liked your review and nah you're not petty for wanting consequence on the story. That manga didn't bother to make it consistent with character growth, send terrible message toward children etc
I can't seem to find your Kilala Princess video, but did you know there's an Mulan themed Kilala Princess manga? From what I can tell it came out around 2020. Also, "Miriya and Marie" from the Artisocats!
I really enjoy how the core element of these manga falls somewhere in the general territory of "kingdom hearts but shoujo with girl protagonist", and it's SUCH a mood
Speaking of manga and Kingdom Hearts, did you know that there's an official KH manga? I didn't know either LOL
I love when you talk about really obscure magical girl shows, it give people the motivation to look for theses pieces of media.
Sofia the first but make it ✨DANCE THEMED✨ and a ✨MANGA✨ and it was also ✨MADE BEFORE✨ (this is incredible)
Also yeah I feel like they expected waaaay more installments but then when they realized book 2 was their last they rushed the ending they wanted
HOLY SHIT! Hi Athena! I love your videos!

The idea is so cute but when u said a nick manga I immediately thought of anime SpongeBob or squidward 💀
That does sound like a cute manga, as a kid I always dreamed about cartoon characters being real & interacting with them 🥰
Hmm, definitely seems cute and worth a read, but Kilala definitely has more of a plot and more likable characters. They were probably given a bit more time to develop Kilala. This one gives off heavy, "We tried out best, but we were rushed," vibes.

I think Disney should bring back mangas but with some new characters love the video
Yes 😊
Omg yes, I am a big manga reader
I think maybe people can see the Disney characters if the characters want to be seen (Stitch always been chaotic so probably doesn't mind being seen) and the cards probably are invisible. That's what I think is the case
Possibly but it doesn't really say it in the story
I like this theory 😌 but then I imagine Mickey going “hmm, I don’t wanna be seen today 🤔 peace out 😗✌️” and turns invisible. 😂
@@sghope that would be rude
All right, some Disney books I never knew existed 😍😍😍
This moment is so funny XD 🤣🤣🤣 - 3:42
