Nice shout out to Buffalo! That man is a machine, it's like he can't miss no matter what bullat slinger he is using. This 45acp is a nice performing round!
Delta is the other way of wiring a three phase bullet. Either way, when done properly, will allow you to reverse the spiral of the bullet simply by swapping out two of the petals. When you guys recast your gel blocks, is it possible to put stuff (like bones) inside as you cast? I also think it would have been interesting to shoot the other end of this block with a couple layers of tee shirt draped over it. Just to see if it deflects the petals sooner, reducing their penetration. Great video, but I gotta go watch some goofy cop blow up some meat with a 45-70 lever gun!
Would it be possible to insert thin sheets of metal (brass, aluminum, steel) with different tensile strengths into the gel 🔀. This would introduce barriers after initial penetration into the equation. Could be interesting.

Down at the bottom right of the pad as OG is holding it you can see copper embedded there @7:20, with it possibly hitting at 7:41 in the slow mo (that one is hard to tell though as the whole roll tilted at the same time as the "impact" of the ricochet.

Loading my own ammo was one of the most satisfying parts of my sport or hobby. I used to cast my own 230 grain semi wad cutter heads and used 4 grains of smokeless shotgun powder. I did it all by hand as I couldn't afford a machine. The result was a round that performed perfectly in competitions. It knocked quarter inch steel fall plate targets down effectively at 25m. Now it's illegal to own any of the kit I used.
I'm guessing those are carefully hardened copper to fracture like that just how it was supposed to. I'm curious what would happen if you annealed one before loading, if it would work more like the 9mm one.

The bullet did actually fragment in the Ajax. If you look at 6:17 you will see the flash of one petal at around 2 o'clock and another at about 9 o'clock with the base briefly flashing at 6:20 at around 4 o'clock. Impressive round!!! Great vid, as always, guys. Keep 'em coming! Edit: Looks like the vest was too far behind the "California Condor" breast. Those petals are coming out at a pretty steep angle and went around it. (I know, I know. "Watch the entire video before commenting." Well, my memory is about as long as my..... nose. So if I don't comment when I think about it, I will forget what I wanted to say).
I really enjoyed this. Great to see OG back on the range, but my particular highlight was the 70s kung-fu overdub of the round name. That raised a hearty chuckle in the Winters' household. Thanks, Jeff.
I have an idea for the darts that keep breaking apart. IF there is enough room to make it work. Find a can of "Plastic-dip" (I think Harbor Freight carries it). The stuff you use to put new rubberized grips on a pair of pliers when the old grip has fallen off or torn. This stuff is reasonably stretchy and shock absorbent. My thinking is dipping the plastic body may add some strength. The body may still crack, but the rubberish coating may hold it all together because it is so shock absorbent. Maybe two coats? Of course, this only works if there is enough room to accommodate the extra volume the rubber will add to the darts.
I got a chance to buy a dozen boxes of the Norma MHP solid copper hollow points at a can't refuse it price in .380. They also open up into three petals but don't come apart like those do. Although the don't open completely up in .380 as they do in 9mm, they are pretty impressive, and I've always preferred a bullet to stay together. Shooting them into one-gallon jugs full of water they all ended up expanded in the fourth jug. Regardless of expansion, they penetrated deep and were accurate in what I shot them out of. I am a big fan of the deep penetrator solids too. They don't expand at all but sure mess things up on the way through. Keep up the good work guys.

They sent us a couple boxes of .308 CC loaded rounds too.
@@taofledermaus Wait till you see the ballistic gel shot for those!

Exceptional shooting again Greg. That is a devastating slug.
Geez Jeff, you got double meat and a cream pie. Riley Reid approved👍
Seems very similar to the G2 R.I.P. round in .45. I recall you guys reviewed it as well, now I need to go back and compare the gel block results
Ok what about 10mm
Look on their website already!😂
I loved the video. Not sure if anyone else requested this, but I'd love to see y'all test the 300 BLK controlled chaos bullets.
Ballistic cabbage is my favourite. Great video Jeff and Gregg. Hi to all. 😊
thanks Jason
@TAOFLEDERMAUS you're always welcome Jeff 👍
I really enjoyed this. Great to see OG back on the range, but my particular highlight was the 70s kung-fu overdub of the round name. That raised a hearty chuckle in the Winters' household. Thanks, Jeff.
lol thanks!
The 45 ACP is a beast. Thanks for the video.
thanks
The parts fit together and then have to come apart when it leaves the barrel. There's no room to put anything on the outside of the sabot.
Ballistic machinist is currently testing some 380 bullet designs. Hopefully they'll work well.
I think this channel is proof of the saying "the only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down". Keep up the great content!
thank you very much!
"I am a wealth of worthless knowledge."
I have never felt more akin to OG.
I would honestly enjoy some OG nature walk content
Ive been watching all these videos lately and the main thing that I am learning is that I dont want to get shot! These targets really show how painful it would be to get shot with these rounds!
Neat! Whomever suggested red cabbage as a target was really on to something!
The witty one-liners always crack me up! Being in my 40s, I get most of the references and you guys are full of zingers, not the little cakes🙃
thanks Jeff
Great content as always. Excellent results. Thank you Wilson Combat and Tim Loader. Thank you gents.
thank YOU!
For those that dont know it’s called a delta due to the Greek letter delta and it’s shape. 16:15
