I used to play this for my daughter when she was a baby because it was so precious and beautiful like her. To this day I cannot listen to it without crying. I love being a papa to my little one.

:) That's awesome. My most favorite TH-cam comment ever. I used to play Mozart for my little girl, and she started calling it "tickle-me" music because she said she felt like the notes were tickling her. That's the mark of truly magnificent music, in my opinion, lol. I love being her papa as well.

I played this to my first born when he was still in my tummy. When he was newborn it was the only thing that would settle him. I’m sitting next to him right now at the grand old age of eight. He has a cold and was struggling to sleep so I’ve started playing this to him, asked if he remembered it and he said no. He’s fallen asleep in minutes. Thank you Mozart for being such a genius ❤️

No other song touches the depth of my soul like this song. I feel as if I'm an old man, sitting on the precip of life; all of my sorrows and longings have gathered around me- but not to haunt me. Rather they are floating away. As if I am atop a mountain and watching them float away as I sit in sweet relief and find myself renewed in life. Thank you Mozart.

Arnold Schoenberg actually WROTE .. in his famous books ..composition ..sttucture. .harmony ..orchesteation...that the ONE wind instrument the whole of Western music could NOT do without ...is the clarinet...(french horn among all the brass...violin among all strings) that each in their species were ,the most perfectly balanced in providing needs..TONE..BEAUTY...POWER...RANGE EXPRESSVENESS...AGILITY..CLARITY .."Speaking " ..and if other instruments of their classes were to disappear ..these three would be sufficient

When you hear this, you realize there was a man (Mozart) placing every note by hand, pouring his heart in every ink stroke, and creating beauty from a blank sheet of paper using only the mind god gave him. That is why his music (and other great master composers) will only become more relevant as digital machines, synthesizers, music software etc. totally dominate much of our modern music, as is done today. If an advanced alien life form came to our planet and heard Lady Gaga, Katy Perry etc. and

The Mozart concerto (especially the adagio) really isn't about technical fireworks. It is a beautiful piece of high classicism, requiring beautiful tone and phrasing, breath control and restrained expression. No clarinetist is better for this, in my opinion, than Mr. Shifrin. Add him playing the bassett clarinet which approximates the original concerto's performance, and a lovely orchestra conducted by Schwarz, you have this wonderful recording.
Still, good for you in your competition.

I wonder at this music. how does a sound, when all is said and done that is all it is, sound. But this particular sound reaches somewhere deep into my soul and heart. Sublime is not a word that can come near in describing its feeling. I cant begin to say how deeply wonderful it is. I am a 55 yr old man and yet I find it hard to prevent my tear ducts from going into overflow, why is that? Mozart whoever you were, I love you and your unique gift of music, it can never come again, its impossible.

Yes it is heavenly beautiful. Another beautiful Adagio I've found in Mozart's piano concerto No. 23, then especially played by Vladimir Horowitz.

Mozart could take a not so popular instrument and make such a divine concerto for it. That is indeed genius.

Even in his most toughest times in life; how could Mozart not stay on positive course with his essential Music always playing in his God-given noodle of his.
This piece alone should've always inspire him to envision the best sides of life, I ALWAYS listen to this god-written piece to accept failures or tragedies however come what may, qthough he lived over 220 years ago; It still infuriates me he died young, we deserved much more from him as he deserved much success and colossal recognition. Humanization will always remind us; we were once among an instrument directly from God or as Salieri pointed: 'The Voice of God'.

This has to be my favourite piece to play - it's so beautiful. However, I find the third movement (rondo) more challenging, so its more fun in a way. But, obviously I'm not as good as it as I am at the adagio. Haha.
    Mozart really was a genius.

Can’t hear this anymore without thinking of our church organist who passed away recently. I would work audio at weddings and she would play this on the organ. It’s just as beautiful on the organ.
