OMG!!! You crack me up Keith! Poor Renee is trying to make interesting content and you’re like “nothing to tell really” 😂😂😂 “thanks a lot honey” you guys are cracking me up!
Someone asking you questions, while you're trying to work on something, in an uncomfortable environment can be extremely (unintentionally) annoying. Especially, for someone like me, who can't focus on two things at the same time. Keith did pretty well, by being polite and still getting the work done.
If my boat dragged anchor while I was away, I’d pray that I had my own Jack and Keith in the anchorage to save my little home. You guys are definitely heros. After watching sailing channels for years, it seems like this is a forgone conclusion that this is normal behavior for cruisers. It’s one big family. That’s very cool.
Keith, I have to tell you I was a little annoyed with all the videos on everything that you worked on but the more I watch you guys the more I’m so intrigued with how well you maintain that boat your kids are incredibly awesome and your wife is I don’t even know if I have a word for how awesome she is and I’m learning honestly so much from how hard you work on that boat. I just want to say thank you.
Without a Keith on a Cat, it will be a nightmare. There is just so many things to keep an eye on, fix, replace, etc! Without a Renee you will not have an organised home, food, clean washing or extra video income. Just💓the memory videos!
Good to see you Zatara ….always ! Cripes , a fearsome cost for fuel so I hope all our subscriptions to your channel help to slightly defray some of the costs . I’m feeling very envious of you all right now …have a wonderful time.
Renee, you, Keith & all are the most amazing people. You always find solutions to every situation, your genius approach to life sets a fantastically wonderful example. I don’t know of any other TH-cam channels that I enjoy more or so much. Since I’ve cut the cable & avoid news channels entirely, your videos make me appreciate the goodness in life. If your channel contributes to your expenses that’s “genius” too 😂 & ❤ to you (all). Lesh Go🌐.
What a great team and family they are! They are the first sailing ⛵family I started watching only over a year ago. They remain my favourite.🥰Wish I knew about them when they started out.
Another fabulous episode, Renee. Everyone seems in high spirits. We have been seeing the terrible fires through Greece and other places. It has been very hot. Keep sailing well, out there on the water. Happiness..
Yea have you seen the apocalyptic videos coming out of Maui? There is nothing left of Lahaina…it’s extremely sad to hear people’s stories and to know that the death toll will most likely more than double. 😢 On a lighter note… another great video Renee!
I’ve lived in Maui- this past week has been so stressful being my daughter and family live there and my friends- watching this video and the fires there in Greece just makes my heart hurt. I love watching your videos. Please let Kate know those folks have indeed suffered greatly. 🥲 she had made a comment on the fires they were watching.
Love that you are always ready to help a fellow sailor in need ;). If you pass by Barcelona and there's anything that you need, I'll be glad to help you out. Cheers, and safe travels!
Keith, I assume you are teaching the boys to service the engines as well as your mechanical skills. My boys could handle a lot of the chores about 16-17 and made my life easier. AT 87 My sailing days are over but I do have a stink pot to enjoy being out on the water. Enjoy your show and best to all.
The fires are getting crazy, thankfully you guys are on the water and don't have to worry about such things. Have fun on the sail to Sardinia and keep the good stuff coming.
@johnnylightning1491 The (🔥) are worldwide. Just look around ie.Maui 😢 Lahaina is gone, and unfortunately for some, their lives too. Water is life saving.
No wind when I took the watch My ship was still and waiting I lay on that mirrored sky A restless sailor waiting I closed my eyes said the Words of will for the gentle Breathing that moves the seas Make my sails fill Whisper waves cloud the glass Awake at last like a lover It rushed around me talking sweet Roll over, roll over, roll over And in my ear he blew his name It sound so strange but I heard it plain Mistral, mistral wind I have always held the wheel but I let the wind steal my power Spin me 'round lose my course Nights run by like hours Well, it would show me the way To the deepest mountains Too high and beautiful to be Mistral, mistral wind All the hours on the watch I wait for that breeze to move me And blow me back to that place Magic space all through me And I sigh your name Across the empty water You made a crazy dreamer out of me Mistral, mistral, mistral, mistral, Mistral, mistral.... Mistral Wind, Heart, 1978.
In the minute 9:40she Said my beautiful day watching other people's suffering. 😭 Easy to say from a comfort zone, in reality people are dying and losing everything they have in those massive wildfires .
Oh shut up. I knew there would be at least one idiot commenting in that. She’s she’s just a kid and trying to make a joke. Obviously wasn’t meant to offend people. Get a life.
Renee would not have put that in the video if she believed their was malice behind the comment, we need perspective behind the context. Kates a young confident woman, and she made a Frank comment without emotion as she’s far removed from this reality. In hindsight she may need to look back on video and see what we did, the other reality is perhaps Kates not aware of all these fires occurring. Benefit of the doubt, from a young ego!
That could be too and an insightful observation. It alarmed me as well, but unless you’re right there and you’re on that land and you’re frightfully exposed to it and then the observation is quite different. It’s life or death. Now he has been going through its horrendous fires all that happened in Lahaina and up country, I’ve been watching it all week and I’ve had to talk to my daughter who actually lives there are used to live there my emotions in my heart of been twisted and turn all week. It’s no slight remark observation so we all learn at our own pace, that’s all I can say , the content for Renee‘s video was wonderful and I always enjoy this family. It’s a nice respite after last weeks surreal scenes. Praying for healing for those who have suffered.
Kate was not being disrespectful, she was actually being very mindful of the poor souls that were suffering. Maybe you should do the same and pay closer attention to what she was saying. She was being grateful and considerate.
A few points I'd like to make. I've watched every episode. While you have taken me on a virtual tour of the world, showing me the most beautiful scenery I can ever imagine, you've also shown me the life of what it's like to travel by boat. What it's like in other countries. The ups and downs, the growing up of your children, how grounded they are. How your family is so close. Last note...my favorite sound on your videos is the sound of the anchor going down and coming back up. *{Next to the opening song}. Thank you Sailing Zatara, thank you.
I love Keith will fix and repair or replace all the broken stuff! I Love Renee takes care of all the food, and directs the laundry, and the cleaning of the boat! And all the other stuff Renee does as the super Moma on the boat! And you all know how hard it is when you have youngsters on board! I say youngsters are from age 4 to 18 years old! What a team Keith and Renee are!!!!!
i just came from finns channel, you guys are awesome and it shows cause your kids are amazing, thanks you guys for showing us your life. i feel like you guys got tired of the loop most normal people live in. so good for you for breaking that loop, now you live free
I remember last video Renee saying in retirement (when the kids are gone) she’d have to just learn the boat stuff, and I just wanted to say that I’ve learned A TON just watching your videos and listening to Keith explaining things! Def recommend watching the videos and surprising him on your next solo stint 😂😂
At my age I will not get the opportunity to sail like Keith's family....Gosh, wish I could but as they say "It is what it is." The KEY to sailing is having someone onboard like Keith who has an extremely high mechanical and electrical appitudes and in addition someone blessed with common sense and again that is keith. I'd love to meet the man just to shoot the "chit" for a spell. The Kids (What little I know, I like) and DNA will ensure all three will do well in life or at least I pray so! I enjoy Renee's video's (the REAL brain of the crew).
Hi Zatra Family, I'm from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 and my Hubby his from Germany 🇩🇪. Wow ! Your Channel always inspired us . We loved watching your TH-cam Channel and I think soon will be getting our New Sailing Boat .. ⛵️ Keep up loading more Videos 📹 🥰🥰
25:10 I go swimming at a beach just to the right of that tower (which used to be the only power supply for sicily) Villa San Giovanni on the Italian side and Messina on the sicily side. Pretty gorgeous area
Keith, some people work smarter not harder as we mature. I love you oil changing set up. It is too bad about the wild fires. I live in the Central Oregon Cascades and wildfires are a big deal here also. Our neighborhood works hard to create defensible space around our homes to increase the probability of our homes surviving the next wildfire. Renee keep up the good work. Not all of us are able to travel as much. I gain a better understanding of other parts of the world via your and other you tube sailing channels.
I look forward to every Thursday to your videos. Not bad $$ for gas for a 6 months..like a vacation 24x7. Truly, all your videos are amazing. All of you are such a great family, due to great parenting!! Renee your always a cheery narrater.
One of the benefits of your lifestyle is the opportunity to think, contemplate...to be alone with your thoughts. Not that one can't do that in a typical household, it's just that there are so many things around (especially with the advent of social media) competing for your attention. There seems to be a lot of down time in your travels affording the opportunities for this. The most expensive real estate in the world is in between our ears and the competition and money spent to occupy it is immense. It is not difficult to see why you chose to live this lifestyle. Thank you for producing all of the great content. I really enjoy watching your channel!
I absolutely love this channel...and have for some time now. It just dawned on me today that t is a good thing Kate has brothers. If it isn't happening yet, pretty soon she is going to have a parade of young men following her like puppies. She is gorgeous and seems so confident in who she is!! Maybe its a good thing she is in the middle of the ocean...lol.
FYI...Every winter my wife and I enjoy all the towns you are skipping along France. You have to go to Cannes, St Tropez even Monaco & Monte Carlo but just for one day. The whole coast is magical.... skipp Spain maybe :) Love your episodes and appreciate all your efforts !!! Even Finn is now acting more "normal" ...and he's doing great with his channel....nice work all around !
Man I can't ever remember a time when wildfires are destroying so much around the world, we just donated to the victims in Hawaii. Keep all those affected in your thoughts or prayers
@@SailingSarah yah that is true, I think we can say that about a lot of things that we see these days and say whatever is getting more prevalent or happening today than in the past.
I hate see the loss of someone's home from fire. And wildfires are the worst. People being careless about fires. Here in AZ starting a wildfire tends to lead to heft $$$$ consequences and rightly so.
Your vids are absolutely fantastic ad I love them. The lady i the House, Madame Renée, has a so gentle ad clever way of talking, prestige ad commenting. Bravo !
I love your simple mundane sailing vids as much as the action Packed ones. Good to slow down & get basic artistically so. Like The Anchor Chain falling and the oil change system
Official empty nester here from your old stomping grounds, Flowermound-ish area (Lantana to be exact). My wife and I are finding things to do just the two of us. It is very weird not having the kids around sometimes, but luckily we have extended visits. First grand baby is 18 mos and just found out about grand baby number two! There’s still plenty of adventures around the corner!
I feel like we don't know enough about Jack's plans. We know Kate still has schooling left to do, Finn wants to get a van, travel and work on his TH-cam channel, but what does Jack want to do?
He is a huge help on the boat and is needed, it seems he is content at this point while the other kids finish school and Renee is busy with mom and TH-cam responsibilities, hopefully he will stick around a few more years……or forever ❤
Dear Renee, at the beginning of the video you stated that you didn't know what the video was going to be about, wow can you make something from nothing. Great video, I love this day to day life style video. Great job.
On my boat, I purchased an inverter generator and placed it on the swim platform, attached to my shore power cable, so I could run my AC at night. My inboard generator can use up to 1 gallon an hour. My inverter generator uses 2.5 gallons and runs 10 hours. Saved me a lot of money.
Keith I really enjoy it when you share the modifications/upgrades you've made to the boat and its systems to make it easier to service, and the upgrades you have added like the fuel polisher. You are a guy after my own heart on this stuff. One can never forget what you have here, a mobile "home" with all the plumbing and electrical systems that brings, plus a charging system and engines for propulsion, all of which lives in a corrosive environment that is subject to the motion of the sea. Pretty amazing stuff for this old gearhead.
Say Hello to Sardinia. Our Daughter spent a year on exchange there. Learn Italian. Learn alot about herself. My heart will always have a special place everytime I hear the Name Sardinia
The good thing in Italy is that we barely see sharks, the last recorded attack was in the 1989. There are still sharks all around, but I guess they are shy here. 😁 The downside is exactly what Renee said, the wind can be tricky and requires many corrections at times. The most dangerous waters in the med are the Bonifacio Mouths between Sardinia and Corsica, sometimes that sea can be quite rough and unpredictable. 🤪 Anyways, welcome to Sardinia. I hope you'll enjoy your stay! Don't forget to visit La Maddalena, it's really beautiful with many little beaches mixed in the nature. Sadly, the pink beach still closed at the public, still a restricted and protected area due to fragil ecosystem. Still one of my favourite beaches from when I was a kid, back then wasn't closed to the public. Almost forgot, be carefull in Costa Smeralda, it's a VIP area mostly, so it can be very expensive. 😉
I like Keith's clever oil change 'upgrade'. I have bad knees, so I use a manual pump for oil changes on my car (by the dipstick hole, instead of the drain plug -- it actually gets more oil out, than gravity draining). It seems like a pump kit would be a great product to sell, for boaters, who probably all HATE changing their oil, etc.
We love your channel! It's been amazing watching your kids grow and your family travel the world. I don't want to over step, but a hint from an older retired homeschooling mom of 7, you might think about editing out 9.35 to 944. I understand the sarcasm, but it may come across as crass to others especially those in Greece whose homes are burning. I'm probably just being overly sensitive though. No worries!! Kate is awesome and I know there was zero intent to come across as uncaring. You guys are such wonderful parents. Keep up the awesome!
Europe ain't the only place suffering through a heatwave. The southern half of the States been in one the better part of a month. Texas and (here in) Florida still got it holding on. Used to mid-90s with a feels like in the low to mid 100s. Been in the upper 90s with feels in the mid 110s for weeks! Nice save on that little boat! Yachties gotta watch out from each other. Didn't you guys lose your old dingy one time and another boat held on to it until you went looking for it? Even after the Med Crew you are still opening your home to another teen! JJ seemed like a great young man to have aboard for a few days. Oh yeah. I always watch the advertisements. I've learned how important they are to content providers.
4:00 Triple digits in North Texas since end of July, several 108 days in Arlington this past week, and near 100 here in Central Florida. I feel your pain.
Yeah This is Guillaume, an American too watching you from Charlotte…great traveling with you that I don’t do those days. Anyway as you might have guessed I was born in France and passing by the coast of France I cannot recommend you enough to stop by the Island of PORQUEROLLES! Yes plus my parents live there too, in it! Diving there, playing pétanque and enjoying the main square. Feel free to ping me for details, my mom speaks English if you ever need a host or guide there!
Feel your pain. Since your native Texans, you should be use to it. We have been averaging 100 here in the Rio Grand Valley (Harlingen Tx). Love your channel. Keep on keeping on. . . . .
Before TH-cam took off for you guys. What was y’all’s plan on making money while living this lifestyle. Bc as shown in this video money is something u need still to live this lifestyle
Hello, following from Canada but originally from not far from Tropea where i was when you were there. Actually, next time you are there you should look at the region right up Calabria. The name is Basilicata and the nicest place is Maratea! A safe port with all services.
If you guys go to Corsica, please take time to visit Bonifacio, the reserve of Scandola, the calanques of Piana, the River of the restonica and eventually the Mount Cinto…The west coast of the island is beautiful. Try the local food as well…I have traveled all over the world and for me it is one of the most beautiful place on Earth…
I run aviation kerosene in all my diesel powered vehicles and equipment and all that is usually needed is a lubricity additive which is very cheap. I blend used motor oil in with the aviation kerosene which serves as a lubricity additive. If you have older mechanically injected diesel engine you can run used motor oil through a basic filter and blend it in with diesel fuel. 10 percent motor oil blended with 90 percent diesel works fine is most engines.
such a great video. just saw in the intro you're hitting up barcelona at some point. i'll be there on a week trip the week after next week. maybe we'll run into each other. that'd be kinda cool :D do you plan on staying in spain for some time or just use it as a pass through.? love your videos.
Another great episode, thank you. $10,000 for fuel is a lot, but imagine that many spend that for a one week vacation in that beautiful area. Thank you for bringing us along.
I was down in Laredo Texas Tuesday and Wednesday and it was 110 degrees there as well, even at night it was in the high 90s with strong winds, it felt like I was in a convection oven, even the ground is hot enough to burn your feet at those temps.
It's a heat wave here in East Texas too Looked at our temp Guage today 109 and of course you can cut the humidity with a knife! Yall try to stay cool and Safe!
Solar upgrade needed, If i was in your position I'd be buying the best and most efficient panels I could find and chuck them everywhere. The cost of luxury :) diesel.
Absolutely loved being on board with yall and cant wait to do it again!!

Yeah Mr. Not so tactful he definitely is on occasion.@@bluenose7984
YES, Renee is most definitely the star and the GLUE that hold the whole thing together........
Well sort of, one of the stars, as each brings a certain personality and perspective that combines into making it fantastically great viewing
Lovely family. Each and every one of them.
🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼prayers for JJ , his family, and all that we’re fortunate enough to have been a part of his journey through life🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
I think half of Keith’s joy in owning a boat is to always have something to tinker, fix, or improve. :-)
Lol very plausible
I'm positive that you're spot on with that! Keith loves his tinkering, fixing, and replacing. 👍
Love the idea of a Cat, but all the stuff that needs fixing! I would need a Keith!🤦🏼♀️ Renee and Keith is really a great team.🥰
😂😂yup
i think it's more perving at girls in bikinis go figure
the opening drone footage and editing of the kites is STUNNING!
How is a sailboat using so much fuel?. Surely your air con is run through deep water cycling? Or solar power? 10 grand for fuel is ridiculous!
The clear information with graphics to described Zatara's current location is brilliant. (This key basic info is often lacking in sailing videos).
This is a bot comment lmao
Keith, I have to tell you I was a little annoyed with all the videos on everything that you worked on but the more I watch you guys the more I’m so intrigued with how well you maintain that boat your kids are incredibly awesome and your wife is I don’t even know if I have a word for how awesome she is and I’m learning honestly so much from how hard you work on that boat. Hi I watch your channel every week. I am in Illinois. I really enjoyed the Med Crew. All wonderful kids. I like when you put the date in the video.

I trust my 16yr old to mow my grass but changing my oil on a critical engine I couldn't do that.

No wind when I took the watch
My ship was still and waiting
I lay on that mirrored sky
A restless sailor waiting
I closed my eyes said the
Words of will for the gentle
Breathing that moves the seas
Make my sails fill
Whisper waves cloud the glass
Awake at last like a lover
It rushed around me talking sweet
Roll over, roll over, roll over
And in my ear he blew his name
It sound so strange but I heard it plain
Mistral, mistral wind
I have always held the wheel but
I let the wind steal my power
Spin me 'round lose my course
Nights run by like hours
Well, it would show me the way
To the deepest mountains
Too high and beautiful to be
Mistral, mistral wind
All the hours on the watch
I wait for that breeze to move me
And blow me back to that place
Magic space all through me
And I sigh your name
Across the empty water
You made a crazy dreamer out of me
Mistral, mistral, mistral, mistral,
Mistral, mistral.... Mistral Wind, Heart, 1978.

If it isn't happening yet, pretty soon she is going to have a parade of young men following her like puppies. She is gorgeous and seems so confident in who she is!! Maybe its a good thing she is in the middle of the ocean...lol.
love this channel and watching your family's adventures :)
Boat community always Watching out for fellow boaters 💪🍻
FYI...Every winter my wife and I enjoy all the towns you are skipping along France. You have to go to Cannes, St Tropez even Monaco & Monte Carlo but just for one day. The whole coast is magical.... skipp Spain maybe :) Love your episodes and appreciate all your efforts !!! Even Finn is now acting more "normal" ...and he's doing great with his channel....nice work all around !
Tropea was my favorite spot in Italy, such a nice and secluded town, although, maybe not in the middle of the summer
Sorry, but that entrance into the water that Finn did with his kite...omg I can't stop laughing. That was gold!! 😂
Man I can't ever remember a time when wildfires are destroying so much around the world, we just donated to the victims in Hawaii. Keep all those affected in your thoughts or prayers
You just didn't hear about them before the internet, it's been happening for millions of years.
Great video. Renee you do a great job. Keith you do an awesome job running the boat. Y’all. Take care👍❤️
Love traveling with you guys - thanks for taking us along !
Love your conversational tone as you share your world with us... Cheers mates.
The wildfires are so devastating! Very sad. Creative Keith! Ideas lead to amazing innovations.
I love the engine oil set up that Keith did!
Honestly, I don't think we have the right to know what his plans are. If he wants to keep it to himself, then that's great.
Well i am on vacation in Croatia right now and just saw a catamaran sailing by and thought: man I gotta catch up with the new stuff of yours 😂👍🏻
Rena , your filming & editing is excellent. Your song is forever stuck in my head .
Love your channel. Always puts a smile on my face. Relaxes every fibre in the body for a while. Pure therapy.
Its neat that the younger ones(not kids anymore) had another few days with a distant friend. He was probably glad to meet up with you guys as well.
Say Hello to Sardinia. Our Daughter spent a year on exchange there. Learn Italian. Learn alot about herself. My heart will always have a special place everytime I hear the Name Sardinia
Best way to cut down on fuel cost is to use wind more and sail, versus motor sailing. After all, you do have a sailboat.
We got a true genius here fellas!
Also Renee I absolutely love the little swinging chair you were sitting in in the beginning of the video. ❤️
The good thing in Italy is that we barely see sharks, the last recorded attack was in the 1989. There are still sharks all around, but I guess they are shy here. 😁
The downside is exactly what Renee said, the wind can be tricky and requires many corrections at times. The most dangerous waters in the med are the Bonifacio Mouths between Sardinia and Corsica, sometimes that sea can be quite rough and unpredictable. 🤪
Anyways, welcome to Sardinia.
I'm working to stop my internet addiction; you guys are my last holdout.
A guy from Tonga, i was there on a ship loading Copra summer of 1975.
Nice to learn various logistics of the boat such as generators, fuel consumption, weather maps, etc.
This was an awesome video, happy to see y'all back together again!
More solar and wind power could help to use less fuel?
My gosh.......Keith is just amazing... truly a Macgyver!💪🏽
Keith is so talented and clever .. is there ANYTHING he can’t fix????
Yeah This is Guillaume, an American too watching you from Charlotte…great traveling with you that I don’t do those days. Anyway as you might have guessed I was born in France and passing by the coast of France I cannot recommend you enough to stop by the Island of PORQUEROLLES! Yes plus my parents live there too, in it! Diving there, playing pétanque and enjoying the main square. Feel free to ping me for details, my mom speaks English if you ever need a host or guide there!
Love videos on well, just life! A really good life! You and Keith look relaxed and kids look very happy!
What happend to the last med crew monday episode? It was up for about half an hour and then deleted
Feel your pain. Since your native Texans, you should be use to it. We have been averaging 100 here in the Rio Grand Valley (Harlingen Tx). Love your channel. Keep on keeping on. . . . .
How's the food over there? Thanks for sharing another wonderful episode. Those fires 🔥 are
Scary. Prayers to everyone in Hawaii with the fires.
I'm so addicted to this lol i even watch at the gym! Lol love your family!!!!
I can't wait to see your videos on Sardinia. I've been to the South, west and north but I have not seen the east side of the island.
Keith… that kite footage is absolutely some top of the food chain stuff
Well Done Crew Z !
such a great video. just saw in the intro you're hitting up barcelona at some point. i'll be there on a week trip the week after next week. maybe we'll run into each other. that'd be kinda cool :D do you plan on staying in spain for some time or just use it as a pass through.? love your videos.
great show, as usual!
Hi Renee you should look into doing ad sponsored videos. That would easily pay for your fuel and your grocery bills. Good luck and have fun out there.
I think Jack would be a great [Cost Guard Rescue Swimmer]. Seems like an exciting and rewarding career.
I love your spreadsheet...perhaps let us know more about mooring fees per stop if any ..good to see all cost
It's a heat wave here in East Texas too Looked at our temp Guage today 109 and of course you can cut the humidity with a knife! Yall try to stay cool and Safe!
Excited to see Sardinia, I have a foreign exchange friend from highschool that lives there. Hope to travel there someday!
Solar upgrade needed, If i was in your position I'd be buying the best and most efficient panels I could find and chuck them everywhere. The cost of luxury :) diesel.
