WRONG. He wants to sell books so what he did was invent some kind of false confession. It is known as a "bombshell admission" and is in many books and most of them are inflated or outright fake/unprovable.
The FBI investigated such a claim and said as such. He recorded the whole interview but somehow didn't get the part where she confessed. What a coincidence, no? Wake up.
