    I know this video is 3 yo, but I’m watching it now because I’m getting a loop recorder in a couple of weeks. Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s extremely helpful for me. Thankfully I have anxiety medication I can take ahead of time. 😊

    This was pretty similar to my experience in hospital in England except I had only a rubbed on anaesthetic. Most painful when they poked hard around my ribs to decide the best spot. Less bruising for me! And preparing for the push is sensible advice, deep breath. Thank you for talking through this procedure.❤

    Great video. I'm getting mine on 7/11/24. I've had one a decade ago, but the unit was the size of a small lighter. This Boston Scientific unit I'm getting is only about 1+ inches by a 1/4" wide.
    Great technology! 24/7 monitoring, amazing. Good luck on your end. Joseph

    Thank you for your informative video. I am having one put in September 1, 2022. I was told it will be with local anesthetic. The part I am dreading the most is having the lidocaine put in. Thank you for telling me what it feels like. I have a friend who had it done and she said it was easy! Your information has helped eased my fears. I pray it will all go smoothly. I had my loop recorder inserted two weeks ago. The Electrophyologist that inserted I said she prefers to put two sti5ches. Then put surgical glue. No patch. The glue was gone after two weeks. Except at the dentist he first puts on a topical which numbs the area and then gives the lidocane shot so you don't feel the shot going in. This doesn't have any numbing before they jab that big needle in and out, repeatedly.

    • @sarahrodriguez672
      @sarahrodriguez672  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      True, the needle used to inject the lidocaine you will feel. In my personal opinion it is slightly painful for a very short amount of time, then the lidocaine begins to work and it's easier.

    ALL doctors CAN give you sedation or even anesthesia. I am old enough to have experienced far too many procedures so that now I ask ( demand) deep sedation/ anesthesia for any potentially painful procedure. Of course some doctors aren’t going to suggest that simply for expediency. They would need more personnel, more monitoring and most importantly more time. Stay well all. Cheers

    • @sarahrodriguez672
      @sarahrodriguez672  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very true. Very important that we know that we have to be our biggest advocates for ourselves. Because a lot of times there may be options that we don't know about that otherwise nobody would have told us. We have to try to not be afraid to speak up let our voices be heard about what we are uncomfortable or uncomfortable with. It's important to tell the doctors if you're nervous or have had a bad experience in the past with this procedure or other procedures so that they can understand better your responses and how to help you.

    Just wanted to say thank you this is very helpful to have a female insight to this process! Eases my nerves for sure. From your research have you found a rhyme or reason to when the doctors sedate you or not? The hospital said they will, but the doctor said local anesthesia only.
    Also, do you carry the remote with you every where?

    • @sarahrodriguez672
      @sarahrodriguez672  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately I haven't found any kind of rhyme or reason for why they do or don't sedate, it seems to vary person to person, doctor to doctor. I think ultimately the decision is up to the doctor. About the remote: yes ma'am, the remote has a spot on the end where you can put a keychain, so I have mine on my car keys and carry it everywhere with me. That way any time you have an episode, you can push that button no matter where you are. Also just a heads up, talk to your doctor about any charges you may incur for this. I have been billed 40 dollars EVERY single month just for the doctor to look at the results it sends him remotely each month. This was NOT discussed with me ahead of time, and my own cardiologist had no idea about it either. (He installs and monitors the loop equipment but knew nothing about the charges). So just make sure you know ahead of time if there is going to be any monthly or further charges that you should be aware of. That way you wont be caught by surprise with new and random bills. Good luck on your procedure and you will do great!

    Helpful video. I’m getting one in at the end of this month. Thank you. Is the position of where they put the recorder in the middle of the chest or under the breast ? Does it lift the skin so you can see it ? Did it leave a scar ? Thank you for the video.

    • @sarahrodriguez672
      @sarahrodriguez672  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      the position of where they put it is as close to being on top of where your heart is as they can get it. I just mean that as far as the position not as far as it is deep. It only goes very lightly Under the Skin. It's down far enough to where you will not see it or feel it once it is in there, but not so far down that it's anywhere near the heart. It's basically pushed in Under the Skin at an angle. Very superficial. So there won't be any skin lifted up or poking up. If I poke at mine where it is I can feel it a little bit but I wouldn't recommend poking at it just because you don't want to bumping around out of place. The Scar it left was super super super tiny. Probably half an inch in length, and even that itself will go away with time. Good luck on your procedure and let me know if you have any more questions

    Thank you so much for this video. I am waiting on the cardiac surgeon to call and schedule my procedure. Are there any restrictions for things you can't do like lifting after the procedure? Also were you able to wear a bra right after?

    • @sarahrodriguez672
      @sarahrodriguez672  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope, no restrictions! Whether or not you can wear a bra after is just going to depend on an individual basis because it depends on how big your breasts are and the exact spot they inserted it. For some people the bra might bother them a little bit and some people it might not bother them at all. My breasts are small enough that I can get away with not wearing a bra as long as I wear a shirt that doesn't show my nipples LOL so I just didn't wear a bra at all
