    This is the one problem I see with immigration to various nations. I understand that they have this whole "Don't be a burden on the state" thing, but a LOT of disabled people, especially Americans anymore if you ask me, need to leave the US to be able to live a life where you're not forced to be destitute. It's so frustrating because it's like looking through a picture window that you'll never be able to go through to the other side because there's no way made for you to get around the "problem" of being disabled unless you somehow magically become wealthy.

    Believe that if wanna find a house more easier, the best method is that people input their requirement and post to a site where you can explore your networks and allow owner/agency find your post and requirement to match with. More efficient and time saving for advertisement scanning and negotiating.

    Hey, just a question lol I'm a plumber thinking of working in Australia.. so you're saying I'd have to do farm work for a few months before being able to find plumbing work?

    • @KateTurner
      @KateTurner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not quite, the farm work is only necessary if you want to extend your visa to a second year and must be completed within your first year. If you only want to stay a year, no farm work is required

    • @Funkster228
      @Funkster228 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the type of visa you're going for. You won't qualify for any of the working holiday visas but if you have a profession in the skilled migration list and you want to go without an employer sponsorship, you will need to score on a point system. You get points for things like age, work experience, English speaking etc. You'll probably score high for work experience but after a certain age, they start giving less points.

    Hey! Great video I want to go to Australia hopefully next year! I am planning to apply for the Holiday Working Visa and like you I am planning to stay in Melbourne. I am a little confused about the specific work that I have to do for the three months. Are you planning on doing this kind of work and if so can you do it while in Melbourne or you have to live somewhere else to do it ?
    TIA ❤️🤗

    • @KateTurner
      @KateTurner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! If you go to the home affairs and immigration website, there’s a whole section on the kind of work you need to do. Unfortunately you can’t do it right in Melbourne because it’s not considered regional. Check out the website and you can see all the postcodes that are considered regional. As of right now I won’t be doing the three months of work so I’ll probably be heading back home once my year is up. Hope that helps! 😄

    I’m a little confused as to how the Visa’s work. I’ve been looking into moving to Australia and I’d love to become a permanent resident at some point. When you were mentioning they make you do a certain form of work for 3 months and then for 6 months; can you shed more light on that? That’s something I haven’t read anywhere so it threw me off.

    • @KateTurner
      @KateTurner  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      so just with the working holiday visas, you have to do 3 months of "farm work" in your first year to be eligible to extend it to a second year visa. and then recently they've opened it up to extend to a third year visa if you complete 6 months of "farm work" in your second year. this is only for working holiday type visas, which is the easiest type of visa to get if you want to be able to work. only in the last year or so they've made some changes to the visas which makes it a lot harder to get sponsored by an employer in order to stay in the country and get PR. hope that helps!

    • @moussamohammad5073
      @moussamohammad5073 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kate Turner you mentionnes that applies to the working holiday visa which I think you said it’s the visa for the commonwealth or UK Colony. If I am coming from the US and I want to extend my visa to second year, I don’t have to do “farm work” since I will be having the “Working And Holiday Visa” right ? Just want to make sure

    • @robman2095
      @robman2095 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It gets harder as you get older because you have fewer years left in which to pay tax and you will become a burden on the taxpayer much sooner. Australia has a pretty good social welfare system which includes free healthcare and all kinds of benefits so the country cannot afford to have too many people coming in who have not contributed to the cost of this for very long.
      If you are wealthy then there are some visas where you can basically buy your way in so maybe you could look at those categories as possibilities if no others are available. You could also possibly get in if you have a skill that is in high demand and score well on other points in the points based system that determines your eligibility. There are also visas just for people to come in for a limited time Based just on them having a skill that cannot be provided by an Australian and sometimes if you get to stay long enough on this sort of Visa it might be possible to stay even longer by changing visa category but I am not an immigration agent. The best way is to pay an agent to find a way to get in. If there is a way they will find it.

    Maybe I missed it but what kind of visa should I get if I want to move move to Australia?

    • @KateTurner
      @KateTurner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depending on where you’re from, it’s either the working holiday or work AND holiday visa. That’s for moving here temporarily while being able to work!

      Kate Turner I took the tip for the anz bank and am going to send money from here to there tomorrow! Thanks for that. It’s safe and legit right?? Does the phone provider you went with have better service in Sydney than Telstra? Also feel free to connect on Instagram! I’d love to meet other expats down there!

      @@ChristinaGlows wire transfers through your bank are definitely the safest way to send money! i'm not sure about cell service in sydney, but i assume all big providers will have tons of towers, especially in the big cities

    • @KateTurner

      I don’t have any experience with that so you’d have to check with immigration website that’s linked in the description

      Under international law you have to claim refuge in your nearest country of safety. Your life has to be in danger and you can’t move for economic reasons. If these do not apply to you you would be deported

    so if you are from a third world country, you are talented.. you still don't have a chance to move to Australia, simply because you come from a third world country and are not eligible to apply for that kind of visa... unfair.

    • @robman2095
      @robman2095 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is probably because a lot of people stay illegally after their Visa expires. People from all countries do this but it is more likely based on experience that people from third world countries will do it I think.

    What about Jehovah Witness from to Australia to do missionary work

    • @KateTurner
      @KateTurner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Missionary work is literally just modern day colonization. Australia doesn’t need missionaries. Indigenous Australians don’t need to be reminded of white, settler, Christian colonization. Keep that bafoonery at home.

    • @JamerraMercier918
      @JamerraMercier918 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @KateTurner
      @KateTurner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      SouthernAngel Jamerra people of any race can participate in ongoing colonialism. What I’m condemning here is missionary work. The idea of coming into a “less fortunate” country filled with “less fortunate” people and preaching some form of Christianity under the guise of “helping” is a modern form of colonization. It’s harmful and ignorant to assume any other form of spirituality besides your own needs “fixing”. I’m sorry but you’re in a cult and you’ve come to the wrong place if you’re looking for justification.
