      You're a brilliant, gifted artist and I agree with this you spoke of concerning individual worth and perception. Both my youngest son and I are artist. His biggest hurdle was to create something he absolutely adored and come to find little agreed with him in the online world. I told him he didn't begin the journey for anyone other than for himself and to take into account we're all different and he should work on the best "Him," and things would fall into place. I love watching and listening to you. TY

      @@MiggyCrashno predisposition can take you this high, it only starts with predisposition. Later you need extend it to a habit and hours of spending on your craft. And the success achieved in the end is because of the willpower, patience and willingness to continue, and after all not giving up. You can have predispositions but without those 4 things I mentioned earlier you just wont go far

    Speaking on what you mentioned... I make my living as an artist and used to care about comments and social media response. I made a compulsive decision to delete my social media and while I thought it was a necessity for my job I've never been happier. It's been 3 years and I'm extremely lucky to still be successful and do what I love and now I don't have the pollution of social media influencing my art or mental state. I still use TH-cam for inspiration, like I get from watching your videos 😊 but eliminating IG was the best decision I've ever made. Keep up the amazing work and thanks for your insight

Your use of soft, undefined edges and careful tone mixes give your work a wonderful quality. Have you ever painted portraits on a mid-toned ground instead of white? • @DariaCallie
      @DariaCallie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Yes, for many paintings I basically transfer the “key-points” (with transfer paper) and then I finish the outlines by hand with a pencil. It serves as sort of a framework for the painting and it saves me some time if I do it this way. However you can’t fully rely on this sketch throughout the whole painting process (because as you paint the lines move and shift) so you have to constantly refine and revisit it, make sure that everything is in the right place and that you get accurate sizes and proportions!

    *Abstract*
    This transcript is a monologue by a portrait artist named Daria. Here's a summary of the main themes she covers:
    * *The Painting Process:* Daria shares her creative process. This includes premixing colors, the reasoning behind her lighting choices, and the importance of starting with the darkest tones in a portrait.
    * *Technical Aspects:* Daria explains concepts like values, complementary colors, glazing, and the necessity of soft lines and transitions in portrait work.
    * *Social Media and the Creative Process:* Daria shares her concerns about the negative impact social media can have on artists, emphasizing the importance of not letting likes and engagement influence your view of your own work. She encourages individuality and remaining true to your artistic voice.
    * *Personal Practices:* Daria reveals that she has reduced her time spent on social media in favor of greater productivity and happiness.
    disclaimer: i used gemini advanced 1.0 on 2024-02-24 to summarize the transcript.

    I am a digital artist transistioning to traditional. I have a good understanding of values, but when I started doing traditional art, just like you mentioned in the video, my darks are always too light, lacking dept. You darks are like my oclusion shadows 😅. I always feel like i will run out of space in the values to work in the dark if I make the shadows too dark, but seems like it isnt the case. Anyway great video! Learned a couple of things. ❤

    It’s amazing to see that much skill with an alla prima approach. With other approaches it usually looks nothing like the subject until the final stages. With that alla prima approach everything is coming to life in real time it’s amazing
