The more i watch 1999 the more i love it, it did an amazing job at setting up the mood, it understands the setting, characters and actions that are about to happen, it added a few interactions that while not in the manga, fit so well that might as well just be considered part of it
God, the wide shots, letting the audience slowly absorb the surroundings. Some people likes "go straight to the action" type of anime. But I prefer slow, but thorough build when it comes to a grandiose plot.
