I love seeing all the old images and footage of the times, very interesting to see how it all began. Thanks Will.

The Great Tom Playford…the best Labor Premier the Liberal Party ever had.

Premier from 5 November 1938 - 10 March 1965. How amazing is that? He did many great things. Unfortunately many of those were quickly undone by successive governments and council members once he was gone. Certainly in Elizabeth anyway. Thank you for watching David. Much appreciated 🙏

That's awesome Tim. I love it when people recognise themselves, or loved ones. Elizabeth was a very different place back then

Countries 'unlucky enough' to have equal pay policies... but Australia didn't.... Wow.... 'Not today Galvatron.'

Yes. It's eye opening the lengths Playford and the Trust went to to attract industry on the promise of cheap, and sometimes, inequitable labour. A different time - and many of those policies and caveats promised were already out of date or about to go out of date as Elizabeth was being built. It's original modelling was doomed to begin with, the planners just didn't know it at the time how rapidly things were about to change once the 60's hit - civil rights movements, wage inequality movements, shifts to a more global economy...everything was being questioned and/or shaken up.
