This looks really nice! I’m planning on in the future to make a NS B-line double deck in HO scale for a 18x20 space and this tip will make it look authentic
Nice video Josh! I’ve been wanting someone to make a tutorial on this. I’m definitely gonna use this technique when I get my layout into a more permanent state.
Josh, that's a very good method you used for painting the rails and ties! Depending on how large an area or how large your layout, could be a lot of time put into that. Still, I like the method and the video. Thanks for sharing Muse
Great end result! As an instruction video however you might want to adjust the camera in a way so that your hands don't cover the lens and hide all your actions. :)
This was absolutely awesome! Thanks for the How-To! :D If I may, I'd like to inquire about the description in regards to the realistic trees; Does that include a Willow Tree?
Great results, but my layout will have over 150' of track. Based on your ~ 5 minute time to do one track, that would result in me spending over 12.5 hours to do this. I'm 73 and with all the other things I need to do to lay the track, road bed, wiring, etc., I might be dead before I could finish this.
Air brushing would definitely be quicker, but it does not allow you to differentiate colors (between the rails and ties) as easily, nor does it allow you to have the multiple layers of colors on the ties. Nothing is wrong with airbrushing, and we had done it on much of our track, but this is just a more detailed way to go about it! :)
Problem with an airbrush is if your brush is an open cup you're going to have paint spillage unless you have some kind of lid on it; the other is dealing with overspray
This is a fascinating concept. Moment using it, at least from searching track weathering videos.
I’ve wanted to know from you for a long time!!! Great Video
Thanks!
Good too see you again Josh! Great video.
Very nice work Josh. The track does look so much more realistic. 😎😎😎
Great looking finished result. 🚂
Great Tutorial and the track work looks fabulous.
Mike
Thanks Mike!
Great video awesome that track looks so realistic I’m gonna weather my Kato Unitrack that way!!
Are you using enamels or acrylics? Thanks for the video, will do this to my unitrack.
Darn, that's just plain cool. Very nicely done man, I love it!!
Thanks Josh! Happy NEW YEAR!
Excellent Video!
A little constructive criticism-Put your camera on the opposite side from where your hands will be working !

Thanks for making this tutorial. I just got some new track, and wanted to do this, but could not find a tutorial for it. Definetly gotta try it!

Looks good, can you show hue to do a switch?

also good video
Camera on the other side so we don't see the back of your hand might work out a little better. Just an observation. Thanks for the video
Please do a Model railroad tour 2019 and a locomotive roster next please
Hey Robert, already have the next locomotive roster filmed! I'll upload it next week!
@@nsmodeler24 Cool
Hey josh, I was wondering if you wanna sell any of your NS locomotives?
Josh....man seems like a lot work....time consuming....woudn't it be easier to air brushing it....i'm just saying.....
