I like Mardle, what you see is what you get. Been to a couple of exhibitions where he’s been and he’s absolute value for money, proper plays it up to the crowd.
After the Aberdeen PL he came down to the 10-15 of who stayed and watched the post night wrap up and took photos and signed autographs
You've got to love Wayne. He's my favourite commentator. Passionate and insightful.
His knowledge of the game is often overlooked. Absolute legend. Can never understand the stick he gets.
It’s jealousy mate. Every successful man has haters. Those haters have failed at life or not had the balls to try it themselves.
I’d love Wayne to make a comeback in the seniors. I think many of us would but I respect his honesty in this interview.

He gets a lot of stick but I think Wayne is a superb pundit. He’s got a great personality with huge knowledge to match. There’s a lot of intelligence behind that joker exterior.
Can’t stand him. Him and Nicholson the only people in the darts media who would have mvg over Phil just for personal reasons. We used to have sid Dave John now we have these two clowns taking over the matches and laughing at there own ridiculous jokes.
@@michaelmulhall5007 We’re of different opinions then. I actually think Paul is a fantastic commentator with a real love for the game. He also has outstanding coaching abilities and seems down to earth. I have heard him say on countless occasions how great Taylor is.
@@michaelmulhall5007yet you’re on this podcast slagging him off. He obviously interests you enough to take the time to come and comment on this either that or you’ve just got nothing better to do.
@@owenfinn180is not okay to listen to people you disagree with, or would you prefer to live in an echo chamber. Surrounding yourself with people who agree with everything you say. I don't particularly like Mardle but I like different takes on a subject, and the darting stories over the years.

Wayne opened a new darts area I was managing 10 or so years ago, top bloke, stayed late chatting to us. Gave everyone his time, and was truly entertaining. Absolutely gentleman .
Thought they'd mention the 9 dart Can't Spake leg.
Mardle's commentary alone has probably made the PDC and Sky a shed load of money.
Give the man a hand. Then give him a raise.

2 of my favourite pundits/commentators I could by them a pint and listen to them chat darts all night…… remember Wayne as used to play in the grove social club and the Romford district league ….

I grew up on a farm & my dad played darts of a night. So I played darts every night with my dad. I only played against adults. Have played A grade darts since I was 15-16. Such a similar upbringing. Love Darts ❤🇦🇺

Very good interview that, Mardle is great
I've been MC for Wayne in exhibition many times. Best entertainer out there. 13 times he's actually blown the dart into the winning double while I've been stood by the board
Last July (2022) he hit 13 x 180 with me in Cumbria

Don’t care what anyone says Mardle is the best commentator around, also in the same vein of the video Dan Dawson is a cracking addition to the PDC too, passion is immediately obvious, big love for these two
I would love to hear Sid Wadell and Wayne Mardle call a first to 7 sets match of Phil Taylor in his prime vs MVG in his prime. I think it'd be box office gold match wise and commentary wise. Or could you imagine Sid in commentary with Wayne during the best leg of darts ever by Michael Smith and MVG? I do not believe my Godlin bins!

Best commentator in darts. PDC & Sky need this guy on the mic!!! His personality filled the void that Sid Waddell left.
The most engaging interview I've ever seen
Unbelievably good podcast. Wayne’s a legend of the sport and 2nd only to Sid Waddell in terms of characters that we’ve seen in the commentary box. Not many people can do both the insightful stuff as well as the comedy. Wayne can.
Brilliant interview. Really like Wayne, his book is well worth a read if you haven't read it.

To me Wayne's love and passion for darts overrides any annoying bits. I enjoy him talking about the mental side. Not a knock but people who have failed a lot can sometimes give more insight than perennial winners.

Bang on nowhere, near John ! How can he say he was better than ever one else , he never won a major !
Although I enjoyed the interview and am a Mardle fan, he was never No2 in the world. Constantly very good but no major wins. Wade, Dennis, Lloyd and RVB were all above Wayne at that time.

Have to say though in 2006 taylor had an avg of over 100 consistently. Mardle never got close. Has a high perception of himself as a player imo

Wayne is a very outwardly truthful person and wants to give the benefit of his experience to all.
Unfortunately the problem he has, is that he lies to himself and his belief in what he did to propel his dart is not contestable. His nickname of Hawaii 501 should have been changed to Hawaii 5.

You didn’t see the team sky used to have sid lanning Dave Clark and gywinne they were the days. This imposter laughing at his own jokes it’s embarrassing. Always getting suttle digs in at Taylor as he used to mangle him

Most of these interviews are old ground, same answers to the same boring questions. Repeat and repeat. 😊
Very nice bloke is Wayne, good at his job. Unlike Laura Turner who is boringly boring.
I wouldn't tune in to a Turner show but I really like Laura Turner as the co-commentator. For me, a pleasant and friendly voice is much better than one that is over-bearing with stats and criticism.

Terrible player and really gets on his high horse as a commentator, speaking down about players well beyond him. All he's known for is beating Phil Taylor and he had to get the crowd involved to do it. Total clown
