    I do concrete in the usa from a state called Utah. It's crazy how every concrete guy has there own way of pouring, and finishing. I love it! I'm definitely going to start calling the power trowel, a helicopter now haha. Keep it up guys! We are a dieing breed, no one wants to do hard work anymore.

    It’s funny, I’ve been doing concrete for almost 20 years and I always like watching your videos. If I have time I’m going to try to make some videos to show how we do it in Oregon. I do like how you guys screed and I’ve bought an 8ft, 6ft, and a 4ft like yours. I can’t find anything bigger. I would like get a 10ft do you have any idea where to buy online. And send you some videos and or pictures. Keep up the good work.

I’m not sure where to buy 10 ft . . I’m sure if you keep looking you will find one . And if you can’t I will buy one here and send it to you for price 🤔 👊

    That dude is seriously wearing flip flops on the trowel machine HAHA YES! You Ozzies are great. Anyone do that here in the US and theyd be kicked off the jobsite...but I bet the flip flops dont put any deep tread marks which is why Im guessing hes wearing them...or hes just a straight up bad ass that dont give a flying f*ck
    Also "stick trowel"...we call those walking trowels here (or just a "walker") ..Cool to see guys doing the same thing Ive done my whole life with different lingo...and the flip flops with short shorts is just golden

    These vids are great... Mate! I laid 40sqm charcoal driveway last weekend based on your videos. Only did a brush finish.
    I will be laying 50sqm shed slab soon. At what point do i use the helicopter? How much should my foot sink into the mud... 2mm or 10mm or 15 mm?

    • @concreteninja
      @concreteninja  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter S Hi mate thanks for the kind words . As long as you screed it flat 2mm and just make sure your blinds are right . And very low revving at the start . There is a lot of videos on my channel of me talking about helicopter . I’m sure if you want most of them you’ll get a good idea . Good luck bro 👊

    A lot of watching you guys have a good time and also slowing down, here in North America so many guys start screaming as soon as the concrete shows up.
    Keep up the good work!

    • @concreteninja
      @concreteninja  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nathan McIntosh thanks buddy for the kind words . The way I look at it is them guys that starts screaming straight away is because they are not very confident in what they are doing I have had a lot of different bosses and I have learnt that the one that know what they’re doing never scream at the workers unless they fuck up properly 👍👊 .

    Back in the stone age when dinosaurs walked the earth was when I did my first bit of floor screeding. Luckily there were cement trucks rather than having to mix it all by hand but due to the floor area being miles from the truck the mortar had to be brought in by wheelbarrow which was then ruled and tamped into place with long lengths of 4x2. We never had a copter or the spinning roller thingy but we did have an aerator, these were tools that hadn't been invented yet and after the days screeding my back was an agony of pain so many thanks to the building gods for designing and building these fantastic little helpers it's also nice when you have the good weather like you guys seem to get because here in the UK it's mostly either raining, cloudy and overcast, snow or hale, everything but sunshine really.
    So it's nice to see a demonstration of how to properly lay down a floor, well done and the best of luck for the future.

      My pleasure. I actually work using lime putty mortars and plasters which I slake and make myself but it's so specialist that as you can imagine work is hard to find. I also have a small museum of old mortars and plasters as well as 3 inch thick chunks of lime flooring and one treasured piece of haired lime mortar on a straw background that has an 1846 newspaper stuck to it.
      One thing that surprised me was learning that cement and lime will continue to harden up to 6 years later.
      I was reading about an old Roman cement harbour still in one piece where the mortar is harder today than it was when it was first built a few thousand years ago. This is because of small plate like structures that form in the mortar when sea water comes into contact with the pumis or lava in the mix called 'Phillipsite' which bends rather than shatters when it's stressed. Anyway, enough learning for one day, and all the best from the South of England.

      Peter Gambier thanks mate that’s some awesome information I love my history and all I know is that concrete takes 25 years too hard but it sounds like the Romans had something even better . Thanks for the information mate welcome to tell your stories any time 👊 . Have an awesome weekend from Australia to youin England 🙏

      Sam Lopez I think you’re referring to the vibe! It ensures that concrete fills every nook and cranny and so you avoid honeycomb on your edges once the boards have been stripped
