I’m 5’1 36 years old. Mom of 3. (Pregnancies back to back). After my pregnancies the weight was hard to get off. My eating habits were terrible. I found you 4 months ago, I was 158lbs NOW I’m 120lbs I feel so much better! I finally feel like ME again. THANK YOU for ALL your knowledge!!!!!
I love salads, im always trying different salad recipes! My most favorite one is lettuce, brussel spouts, pear, shaved carrots, red beets, blueberries, with olive oil and little bit salt and pepper. (Cut everything in small pieces) SO good!
I started building my fasting lifestyle a couple of months ago. I've watched tons of your videos but have never commented. You specifically asked for feedback in this video, so here's your dopamine injection from me. Since June 4th of this year, I have lost 20 lbs! The scales are creeping downward on a daily basis, and I'm so grateful to have found you! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with the world!
My husband found Dr. Mindy November 2023. We decided to give fasting a try. I was about 15 lbs over my desired weight and struggling. I jumped right in. My first fast (not intentionally) ended up being 24 hours. To make a long story short. After making fasting a regular part of my existence I’ve dropped over 20lbs. I am continuing to figure out what is best for my body because it’s not just about the weight. I feel great. I’m now working to turn the belly fat into muscle.
That’s so awesome! What was your starting weight? And what all did you do? Like, did you count calories/macros, what workouts? And what was your fasting routine? Sorry for the questions!
I’m an avid backpacker, training to thru hike the Appalachian Trail next year. I eat healthier than most, but was still carrying an extra 50 lbs in body fat, despite hiking 15-20 miles six days a week with a 25lb backpack! Went to a doctor, dietician, nutritionist, naturalist, menopause specialist and a trainer without gaining any insight on my weight problem other than “limit calories to 1200 a day.” I recognize bad advice when I hear it, and kept searching. Started watching your videos and it turned out, the only thing interrupting me from fasting was the creamer in my coffee (bc I stop eating at 6 pm, can’t stomach breakfast until at least 9-10 a.m. and take Perfect Aminos supplements to protect lean muscle in the morning until I feel hungry). Today, I’ve lost most of my excess weight and am only 9 pounds away from my wedding day weight! Changes: removed coffee creamer, added liver support teas, swapped out antibiotic hand soaps, laundry detergent and shower products with far less toxic options, and removed 90% of foods with soy oil. I’m largely vegetarian, mildly pescatarian and hadn’t realized how much “healthy” vegetarian meatless grocery items were laden with soy oil! Oh yes, and I’m EATING MORE than ever before!!! THANK YOU! Finally an answer and SO EASY!
I'm 42. I completely quit alcohol nearly 6 months ago, then i started dieting 5 months ago. I eat around 1000 calories a day, no refined carbs and fasting for different lengths of time. I only ever eat meat and veg or salad (natures food) in 5 months i have dropped 70lbs (5 stone). Ive got 30lbs to go but i feel like a completely new person. Watching Dr Mindy's video's has completely changed my life 😊
I’m 52 and recently diagnosed with mild fatty liver, I want to do everything holistically and nutritionally possible to make my liver thrive! I love learning from you, Dr. Mindy you are my guide through menopause and health for my age and needs! Thank you so much!
Found Dr Mindy channel this past winter...had been exploring IF and listening to Dr Berg, Dr Fung, dtc. But Dr Mindy adds this whole necessary arena of data re hormonal impact and fasting with our monthly cycles....I've dropped 45 lbs so far but more importantly am building a toolbox of fun and informed tools to create my own successful fasting and lovingly referring lifestyle. So grateful to Dr Mindy for her expertise and passion to reach us all and share her knowledge and wisdom!😍😘💪❤

Thank you Dr Mindy with all my heart ❤❤❤
radish is one of my go to, high in protein and love the fresh peppery taste and crunch. Also, hemp seeds from Canada….another protein source or pumpkin seeds, sometimes some sweet potato small amount. Love salad with fresh olive or avocado oil and healthy vinegar. keeping mindful of those inflammatory oils in store bought dressing
I've watched many of your videos, and I can see a big change. I'm a teacher, and I did think before on how I would love your very informative videos to become more visual. Great job! I'm only 10 mins in, and I like the switching of camera angles. I also like bullet points to help my visual learners. Keep doing what you're doing. I'm down 11 lbs from the start of fasting during Lent. You've helped expand my fasting practices. I plan on making it a lifestyle change.
Leaning into hiit a little more made a big difference for me- I also IF by my cycle, eat a keto diet, making time for a lot of rest to lower cortisol, but a 20 min indoor bike ride (10 min medium intensity with the final 10 minutes with 5 20 second hiit bursts then recovery ) seemed to get the extra “padding “ down around my tummy hips and thighs ❤ love Dr Mindy 🙏🏼
An answer to the question of salad ingredients: I also add nuts and sprinkle with seeds like chia or sesame. Sometimes I add edible flowers depending on time of year.
I love my purple cabbage salad and adding sauerkraut is so delicious! I also add Pumpkin seeds or Hemp hearts or ground flax seeds. I use Olive Oil for my dressing. Also, I'm a big fan of Celtic salt! Love your videos. I'm new to fasting but I love the results. I have lost weight!
I love putting salmon, kidney beans, sliced toasted almonds, roasted sweet potatoes, and feta cheese in a salad. (All on a bed of fresh picked greens from the garden!)
on the table I have a small basket with toppings and dressings for my salads. The basket has a variety of things: extra virgin olive oil, wine vinegar and apple vinegar, a pepper mix, a mix of seeds, ground flaxseed, paprika, ginger, turmeric powder, mustard seeds, a mix of pink salt with garlic. In addition to that in the refrigerator there are always different fresh herbs and olives to go adding something different each day along with the olive oil. That can give a different flavour to the EVOO every day
You inspired me to try a 36 hour fast and I did it! I will do during a week at least one 36/12 fast and the other days 16/8, 17/7 or 18/6…no zero sugar drinks…lost around 2,5kgs in 3 days..my road from 115kg to 80kg has started! Thanks!
Always great information and reminders! Thank you Mindy!! I love making huge salads with a million ingredients! One of my favorite lunch time salads I make has mixed greens, radicchio, arugula, sprouts, sliced celery, avocado, cucumber, grated carrots, lots of onion, capers, grated Parmesan, and mackerel with soft boiled egg sliced on top.:)
I make salads almost daily with mixed greens, peppers, red onion, avocado, bacon or salmon, artichoke hearts and capers and use olive oil with squeeze a lemon or balsamic vinegar
Loving the topic centered longer videos using past episodes. It’s like an awesome review!! I’ve been with you for a while Mindy. Not there yet in the weight department. You keep me motivated. Such great info! How about a recap on adrenalines😊
Favorite ingredient ❤ pickled avocado, many recipes out there, mine is modeled from guacamole flavor. This is awesome because no worries about leftovers, + you get vinegar and with added olive oil there is no need for dressing. 😊
I lost my 32 year old son 2/29/24. I can attest to the stress. My A1c was 5.8, regardless of me being on this IF! I’m being cautious about it though, I have no desire to gain weight! I’m just trying to continue my weight loss.
Post Menopause and doing well thanks to you Dr Mindy. Read both of your books and have put most of the lifestyle things into action. In fact I have recently added a body pillow to my weighted blanket for sleep too! The one thing that makes me nervous though is the longer fasts. I would love to do a 72hr fast but keep talking myself out of it with excuses. Wish me luck cause I need extra courage.
I have diasectis Recti and struggle bad. However, when i first started fasting i also did a "walk at home" exercise in the morning (during fasting phase) and a 5km jog every Saturday. My stomach went down. Never before have I seen it that way since before pregnancy 12 years ago. BUT, I stopped that exercise and it's gone big again, but not that much. Need to start those exercises again. No gym. No lifting. No crunches. Just the walk at home videos and the jog once a week !!!!
I am 3 months post partum with number four. Which walk at home program did you use? I am also going to add in my Pilates to help with my tummy. Starting over for me.
I love dried cranberries but don’t love the sugar they process them with. I found unsweetened dried cranberries on line. They are drier and definitely tarter but I love them.
Thank you for saying that Calories in calories out doesn't work. I never knew but once I started tracking my calories. I learned that I was eating less than 1000 calories, 800-900 a day and I was in starvation mode. So after 21 I started to gain a little when I did have a surplus on occasion. All this information is great. What about those of us who had gastric sleeve. I had mine 7 years ago and maintained a weight of 145 until now at age 52. It's hard to eat all my protein and fiber in a 4 hour window and stop eating 3 hours before bed.
I just finished my first 72 fast. I found it was not to difficult , I kept myself busy but no heavy workouts just walking. Im now seeing my keto numbers over three, never happened before 😊 im really enjoying omad and how I feel.

Love this video. The salad section is great. I've always LOVED making surprising salads. My pro-ingredient: cold pasta! So yummy. Just as an add in, not as the main ingredient, mind you. Just adds great texture and a little more carbs for satiation ❤
I love salads too! I put romaine salad mix, baby spinach, carrots, green onions, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, grilled chicken. Olive oil & apple cider vinegar for my dressing.

Thank you, Dr. Mindy. I've just started intermittent fasting 5 and am down 15 lbs. I have done a few 17hr fasts, 2- 36 hour ones and 1- 48 hr.. drinking bone broth when I come out of a fast and throwing in some Sauerkraut as well.. I can see a difference in how my clothes are fitting and on the scale, I am seeing BMI and fat coming down and muscle going up. Amazing and exciting!
Salads: my #1 hack is to make the dressing in the bowl before adding the veggies. Makes it v easy to mix in. My salad dressing is very easy: apple cider vinegar, some lemon juice, a little MCT oil and olive oil, salt, garlic granuals, chili flakes and nutritional yeast. So yummy!!
@@sherrimaclean2741 Hi! Here it is for a larger salad (I halve this when making a quick starter salad) 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tbsp or generous squeeze of lemon juice 2 tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp MCT oil approx 1-2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast (I usually eyeball this!) good shake of garlic granuals good shake of chili flakes Salt to taste. I put all this in the bottom of my salad bowl and then toss with the veggies.
Hi Dr Mindy, thanks a lot for this video. I have read Fast Like a Girl and loved it. I have been doing fasting for years now, started in my 30s and I am now in my mid 40s. I did different lengths but sticked to the one 36h a week minimum which I found useful to regulate weight. I have found in the last 3 years that my weight oscillates, I've changed the diet to keto, tried several fasts but still show some stubborn subcutanean fat. I'd love to receive the Survival guide. Thanks
My salads include all that you said but for my protein I use hard boiled eggs OR more often fresh mozzarella cheese. I'll add about 3 - 4 ounces of mozzarella cheese with oil and vinegar.. YUMMMMMMM
I love salad. I have my own concoction: stem broccoli, wakame seaweed, goji berries, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sugar snaps, sometimes grapes, avocado, olive oil and sesame seed oil! Yummy

I love seeds in my Salads. A teaspoon of Chia-Hemp-Sesame-Poppy and Flax Powder. My Spices are Turmeric-Ginger Powder-and Cayenne Pepper. Include Kale-chopped garlic-red pepper-tomato’s-carrots-broccoli-and Brussel Sprouts and a splash of extra Virgin olive oil. A good Salad takes 10 minutes to make & it’s definitely addicting.
Talking about salads made me think of this one I love: Quinoa, goats cheese and roasted beetroot. Roast the beetroot and dice into cubes (cooled), add cooked quinoa (cooled), spinach and rocket leaves, dressing: lemon juice, extra virgin OO & raw crushed garlic, salt and cracked pepper. Flaked roasted almonds or pine nuts, and crumbled goats cheese throughout. Delicious!

Would love the Survival Guide please. Thanks Dr Mindy

Is Menopause reset a book?

I do not loose any weight on fasting. I am post menopausal. Love walking and weight training. I am also on the keto lifestyle from 2015.

This is fantastic. Thank you, Dr. Mindy. Would that salad be good to break a fast with?

Salads: my #1 hack is to make the dressing in the bowl before adding the veggies. Makes it v easy to mix in. My salad dressing is very easy: apple cider vinegar, some lemon juice, a little MCT oil and olive oil, salt, garlic granuals, chili flakes and nutritional yeast. So yummy!!
Fantastic idea! And love the recipe, sounds yummy!
Would love your recipe!l, it sounds delish!
@@sherrimaclean2741 Hi! Here it is for a larger salad (I halve this when making a quick starter salad)
1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tbsp or generous squeeze of lemon juice
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp MCT oil
approx 1-2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast (I usually eyeball this!)
good shake of garlic granuals
good shake of chili flakes
Salt to taste.
I put all this in the bottom of my salad bowl and then toss with the veggies.
Genius! Look forward to making it!
May I have the Survival Notes please 🙏🏼 Thank you. 💚

Thanks mindy!!! Love your videos!!!
You should suggest sorrel!!!
💙
Grated Slivered Daikon radish is a yummy addition we use-
I always add nuts, seeds, sometimes nutritional yeast
Be careful with the high oxalate vegetables, especially the spinach and chard. It can be very easy to overdo if you eat it often.
I lost 125 pounds eating spinach salads not lettuce
YUMMMMMMM
😋
I love salad. I have my own concoction: stem broccoli, wakame seaweed, goji berries, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sugar snaps, sometimes grapes, avocado, olive oil and sesame seed oil! Yummy
Mindy your syle is beautiful, you look so healthy, very inspiring 🤗

I love seeds in my Salads. A teaspoon of Chia-Hemp-Sesame-Poppy and Flax Powder. My Spices are Turmeric-Ginger Powder-and Cayenne Pepper. Include Kale-chopped garlic-red pepper-tomato’s-carrots-broccoli-and Brussel Sprouts and a splash of extra Virgin olive oil. A good Salad takes 10 minutes to make & it’s definitely addicting.
OMG !!😊I see that you are way over 1 million followers. Congratulations 🎉🎈 It’s been a while since I have seen your videos.😊
Thank YOU! 🙏💙
Delicious!

I am curious how to incorporate all of this information, as a night shift worker.
Compress your eating window and eat 2 to3 hours before you sleep. Vary your fasting length and when you fast. Eat whole nutritious foods in your eating window.
Night shift workers still produce melatonin but less than day shift workers. Do the best you can and adjust for your unique goals and needs. 💙
