  • In our bike inspection video, Cycle Country of Salem's Service Manager (Steven Coen) said that we should flush the coolant. In this video, Rob Lulay (Assistant Parts Manager) talks about the benefits of using coolant additives to reduce the bike's temps by up to 20 degrees. In addition, you will see master mechanic Mike Branson flush the system step-by-step on Larry's 2003 Honda CBR 954RR track bike.
The J2TD video series covers 1) Bike Selection, 2) Bike Inspection and Prep, 3) Rider Gear, 4) Track Days Trailer Prep, 5) Track Days including Instruction.

The upper radiator hose on the 954 is shaped in such a way that it holds coolant like a pee trap. You need to disconnect it from the radiator and turn it downward. I would also recommend flushing with distilled water directly down the upper radiator hose as well

Yeah, I wasn't sure if my eyes were deceiving me there or not... I would recommend at least scooting that to the side while lifting as to prevent any potential damage of fairings (although I think that was round one, as when Mike was working on it later you see both sides of the bike and both fairings are off)
