@@chargermopar Florida right? I have personally never been to Florida but a couple people I know that have always say its a "dry heat". I say hot is hot. But please tell me if I'm wrong on thinking that.
@@Cobbhillfarms Florida is a hot humid climate where the temps only go up and down 10 degrees from high to low. 90 degrees high 80 at night. Impossible to slep without air conditioning. Strangely to avoid the tropical sun most people wear long sleeve shirts, which I personally hate. Once wet it's like wearing a trash bag!
@@chargermopar That doesn't sound like much fun to deal with. I like all the seasons we are blessed with up here in the northeast. Each one last just long enough so by the time you have had enough of one season, the next season is rolling on in and something new is happening.
I grow and grind my own corn and alfalfa bales but i have learnt that i need more protein for a proper mix. What is a good proportion and what product do you suggest me to add?
I use soybean meal for added protein. 2000 lbs of ear corn, 6-8 bags (50lb bags) soymeal. It's around a 15 % protein mix. Plus, a bag of beef mineral added in as well.
nope. I have a really good friend that I get it from. Price hasn't changed in 4 years. I usually give him a little more cash than he charges me for the corn as a thank you. They are a grain and cattle farm so they only pick two large round crib full a year. They also use the ear corn for there cattle.
Your 100 percent correct. I don't have the land to grow my own. I would love too though. The bright side is I have friends that do have the land, equipment and grain storage. Plus, I'm supporting their farm operation by purchasing corn from them. In the end its proble more cost effective to just by the product and grind it myself than it is to buy and maintain all the equipment needed to till, plant, harvest and store the corn. Thanks for watching the video and the channel. Its greatly appreciated.
I used to grind my ear corn with an old Letz burr mill, never had a grinder mixer. the burr mill stayed right next to the crib.
Morning
Must be getting colder since you have a shirt with sleeves. Great way to grind and mix feed!
Lol ya it was that day. It felt good not to sweat doing work for once.

@ Many thanks! I will do that. Greetings from Argentina.
So I'm thinking the trailer of corn is like $200 ?

Might be time to look into growing your own feed but to do that you need room and I'm thinking you don't have that kind of room
