At least there's no snakes out in winter. Been there many times running my big trains. Cut a few in 3 pieces lol!. What a great place and video, thank you!
Wow...someone has put hundreds of thousands of dollars in developing land for a railroad...that would be everyone's dream railroad!! Do they allow foreign "engines" to come journey?
Currently four time a year the White Creek Railroad hosts meets where 50 to 75 people bring locomotives and run trains like on a model railroad. I have many videos from these meets on my channel. Thanks for watching.
This is a private track near Grand Rapids Michigan. There are a couple club tracks in Michigan. The Mid Michigan Railroad is by Turkeyville near Marshal Michigan.
Thanks for that Christmas joy ride. Everything went perfect. No long walk back, or worst, with no one to help, what a long push, or pull, or stay there, i´ll pick you up in spring after thaw... Pretty long run with a snowplow clearing the track. With a snow blower, sort of when it´s finish, it snowed again. How big is the club ? (Ok read it 5 miles) Wish you a pleasant 2025 with many rides.
I broke down on the far side of the railroad before. It happened during a meet when everyone else went for dinner. It was a long walk back. Then, after dinner, I was able to get a ride out to my train and make temporary field repairs. Thanks for watching
@@steamloggerAbsolutely agree. Saw the stick before you hit it, thought "boy, I hope that doesn't derail him", then WHAM. It appeared from there to the end of the ride you were level or downhill, so you may not notice a loss of power until climbing the next day. One more thing....PLEASE mic yourself while narrating a ride. The trainset wheel noise is very low, but even cranking up the volume I can only understand your comments once in a while. Love the video!
@@steamlogger You did a great job with video, just ignore the perfectionist asking to use a separate mic, your phone did just fine! And the noise is great, is what makes railroading fun!
It wasn't too bad in the woode. When I stopped by the yard and the windmill was really spinning, I noticed it. I didn't miss going to Cornertown too much when the track was plowed the other way at Apple Tree Junction.
Been watching some Durango to Silverton videos and this one was just recommended, I clicked on it and was confused as hell, the proportions were all off I thought it was a supper realistic video game 😂😂
I don't know if you get this a lot if you do I apologies, But when I see your engines plowing throw the snow it looks like something out of the 1985 movie Runaway train.
I think you are correct. By that time I was getting cold and was not paying close attention to the track ahead. It is also down grade there and it takes more distance to stop.
Each axle has a 24 volt permanent magnet motor with 8.3:1 reduction. Then there are four 12 volt deep cycle batteries wired as two 24 volt units permanently MUed.
Wow what a rail road you don't know how envious I am. I'm curious how many miles of track you have not just the main line, but all the lines coming off of it, just spectacular.
What a beautiful, snow-covered Christmas Eve ride, thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!
Thanks. Merry Christmas
Gorgeous route. thank you for sharing this day.
Thank you for watching.
THAT WAS FUN THANK YOU!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY RAILROADING NEW YEAR!!!
I am glad you enjoyed it
Happy Holidays!
At least there's no snakes out in winter. Been there many times running my big trains. Cut a few in 3 pieces lol!.
What a great place and video, thank you!
I have seen snakes cut by the train. It is a great place. Thanks for watching
Im in 1/48th scale modle railroading. I cannot fathom the work you have done, quite amazing.
It is not my Railroad. I live about 30 miles away and a help with upkeep when I can.
this place looks awesome
It is. I am fortunate to live about 30 miles away. Thanks for watching and checkout out some of my other videos.
Hello. Very nice Video in the snow. 👍👍😀Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas. Greeting from Germany. Claus
Merry Christmas. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Nice! I love trains and this would be a hobby if I didn't have so many already....
I hear you. Making videos and working on the railroad is enough. Thanks for watching

That's more track than some of the shorter full scale X-fer railroads. Very cool.
There is approximately five miles of main track. With another two miles of sidings and spur tracks.
Thanks for that Christmas joy ride. Everything went perfect. No long walk back, or worst, with no one to help, what a long push, or pull, or stay there, i´ll pick you up in spring after thaw...

@@steamlogger 👍👍
awesome way to start your day
It is always good to go for a train ride.
Thanks for taping your ride. I saw one of these outside of Charles Town WV, just outside Harper's Ferry. Small orivate owned i think.
This one is big and privately owned. I am fortunate to live about 30 miles away and can help the owner with upkeep.
Around 24:52 may have been what caused the front truck problem. Branch across the line.
That is possible.

I remember that stick. I was getting cold by then and wasn't paying attention to the track ahead until it was too late.

@@steamloggershould have done what I did and parked it in the yard and warmed up for a bit before going around reed lake
Thanks for the nice ride.
Gald you enjoyed it
3:15. Love the pre tunnel horn ❤❤❤❤
Thanks. I need to do some repair there is supposed to be three notes and I think only one is working.
Nice to see you out. With wind chill and damp I bet it felt colder than 32 degrees.

I have many more videos from the White Creek Railroad on my channel. Many with other trains or from track side. Thanks for watching.
Awesome ride through the snow! I hope you were dressed warm....
It was worth it to get this video.
Everyone should be able to live their best life , clearly this guy is😊
This is not my railroad. It is a fun place. Check out some of my other videos showing other visiting trains.
Thank you for the ride. Trains at Christmas time are always special and when rideable, WOW! Stay safe, happy , healthy and Warm.
Thanks for watching. Have a happy New Year 🎆
What a beautiful ride , should have a steam engine 4-6-4 to run that track !
I have some videos of steam running here on my channel. Thanks for watching
Great RR. I have to rebuild mine onto 3ft high trestles. My back won't allow me to crawl around on the ground like it sort of did 20 years ago.
We are all getting older.
I don't know if you get this a lot if you do I apologies, But when I see your engines plowing throw the snow it looks like something out of the 1985 movie Runaway train.
I see how you could see them that way. If we aren't careful, our trains can run away. Merry Christmas
Very nice .we all know electronics don't like getting a little wet.
The problem was the wires connecting the motors got disconnected. It has since been repaired and all is well.
Noticed that just after at 24:52 you ran over a branch jolting the locomotive. Maybe where your bogie connection was ripped out?
I think you are correct. By that time I was getting cold and was not paying close attention to the track ahead. It is also down grade there and it takes more distance to stop.
Need a gas powered loco. No tesla locos over here! 🤣. Still very nice and the layout is AMAZING 👏
Thanks for watching
You’re welcome for clearing the tracks so you could break your engine like Jake did to his boxcab the day before lol
Thanks for the shameless plug about how you keep the track clear. 🤣
@ lmfao
Where is this?
The White Creek Railroad is a private 7.5 gauge track near Grand Rapids Michigan. I have many more videos on my channel.
@@steamloggerThank you very much!
Just north of cedar springs Michigan.
Can't see much of the train ...🚋🚋🚋🚋🚋🧐
I have other videos on my channel showing many visiting trains.
Wow! That is incredibly cool. I could ride that all day. 😲❤️ How many acres is that?
The railroad is on approximately 120 acres. It is nice as the track is spread out and there are only a few locations you can see another track.
@steamlogger That's a lot of area to loose yourself in. Just needs a coffee maker for me lol. What was wrong with the engine at the end?
@jonmyers8046 The motors on the front truck got unplugged, and part of one connector was lost. It has been repaired and tested.
@steamlogger at least nothing major. Enjoy 👍
Very Nice how is that Engine powered?
Each axle has a 24 volt permanent magnet motor with 8.3:1 reduction. Then there are four 12 volt deep cycle batteries wired as two 24 volt units permanently MUed.
Where is this located?
Near Grand Rapids Michigan
Does anyone that uses this railroad run any steam 🚂 locomotives on it at all?
Yes. I have many more videos from White Creek of steam engines on my channel
23:25 what's the penalty for not blowing your horn at a road crossing? Twice 27:25
It's a quiet zone. Lol
I was going to say that Batteries do not like cold weather. Does your train use batteries?
The locomotive in this video has four 12 volt deep cycle 100 amp hour batteries. It will run for many miles before needing recharging.
Инфраструктура маленького народца.
Or full size people who ride small trains. Thanks for watching.
this is strange from florida
You should come visit the frozen north sometime
Wow what a rail road you don't know how envious I am.
I'm curious how many miles of track you have not just the main line, but all the lines coming off of it, just spectacular.
I have heard seven miles. It is not mine. I am fortunate to live about 30 miles away and help with upkeep.
