Fishi motorsports fellow here, we actually didn't have a brake sponsorship, we're just stupid and put new pads and rotors on and then forgot to replace the fluid that had been in the car for potentially half a decade 😂boiled the hell out em twice.
A member of the lame goat here. Thank you so much for this amazing recognition. We will be back next year! Awesome race and awesome organizers!!
As one of the members of Fishi Motorsports, it was an awesome first weekend for us and we can’t wait for more! (Also, not sponsored by a brake company yet haha, I just work at a brake related company 😅)
Surely you can aske them nicely😅
This was my first Lemons race I attended! It was a lot of fun, including 6 of us in the huge Storm trying to hold the canopy down! All the cars were awesome, and people were so friendly and helpful!
Thanks for Posting! I love following Lemons!
To be completely clear, the quote for the MAXX's condition was "It hit every parked car on the way home from the bar for at least a decade." Details matter.
No more Midwest then Red Green. Keep your stick on the ice.
re: 6:53 -- Richard is not only team Judo coach, but also Chief Shipping Officer and VP of spin-outs
Just got my PT Bruiser Hopefully see you next year Joliet
Joliet. Toilet with a 'J' - - -
5:46 pretty odd looking lemons car
It's not judo
It's Mexican Ground Karate
Changing a clutch is heroic fix? That is situation normal for us. Why U ruin Lemons awards?!
Don’t know now any of this is possible for $500. I’ve read the rules, followed the chats, and I’m still confused as to how these cars can pass the $500 max spend tech rule.
Safety equipment doesn't count towards the $500. Also I think you can get brakes and tires.
@@regendetillieux2245 that’s all true but when that team replaced the engine on a previously raced car, the Lemon’s guy asked rhetorically why he didn’t also replace the transmission. Can you buy a working junkyard engine and transmission for under $500? I can’t in my area. And would not this additional expense go toward the original price of the vehicle? A $500 race-approved vehicle that gets a “new” engine and transmission for $500 is now a $1000 vehicle. Am I missing something?
@@matthewjohnston1400 These cars are usually trash. The junkyard motors are probably not the best. Also if you can't get under budget you can just bribe the Judges. This is a crazy series.
@@regendetillieux2245 I love the concept. I’m a fan. But a complete car, even one that’s trash will cost you more than $500. You can sell some parts off it, as long as those parts aren’t “safety parts”, and apply that money against the original purchase price, but selling things like a radio is not likely to net anything these days. You can bribe the judges a bit and you can take penalty laps for going over, but in the spirit of the race I’ve been looking for a real $500 car. Seems impossible, especially given their safety standards when it comes to salvage titled vehicles. 🤷♂️
@regendetillieux2245 I regularly buy running driving, failed emissions parts cars for $750-1200. Engine and trans pulled for my race car (Buick 3800 SC and 4T65E), couple hundred in strategic bits sold off and then $215 from having it crushed. If I take the time to legally sell the cats separately, I am down to about $300 for engine and transmission but has gotten really hard to legally sell them at this point.
FYI, that Malibu MAXX at the end. Bought during COVID prime for $500. Of the last 5 cars we have built, only one was marginally not to the letter of the $500 rule.
