I’ve been a big fan of Gunsmoke since I watched it as a kid with my Dad. I’d never seen this particular scene before, it’s really touching. It’s such a shame that Kitty did not return in any of the post-series Gunsmoke TV movies !!

Amanda was in the first movie Return to Dodge. She then sadly passed away before the other movies were made.

Thank you for the correction, I had not realized this. I had always thought, erroneously, that after Season 19 Kitty had not appeared again. Now I have to try & catch that episode. Btw - my eldest daughter is named Amanda. Many thanks !!
