Mate... these vids of yours are QUALITY...!
Hugely apppreciate your time and effort in sharing your skill and obvious experience! Helping many of us newbies gain some much needed idea on simple yet damn powerful processes!
Can't wait for more content on varied situations!
I have a CAT 308E2 and am getting the nerve up to start making a 200m+ 2WD access track up a 20 to 50' grassy slope on my property (in a rainforest valley, luckily hills are predominantly clay under lush topsoil, with floating sandstone here and there)... I think mastering the cut with a consistent quality as to what drainage it will need will be my main worry..! As there is at least 2 to 3 watercourses I will need to take the track through, not to mention one huge blue-gum I hope to get the track above but may have to go below to keep it 2WD... All the compounding varibles! And no idea yet of the needed design!
Anyway - thanks again for sharing and doing what you are! Helps us newbies out HUGELY!

Hey man just started watching your vids and they are great. That looked like perfection how ever what are your thoughts doing that with a grading beam?

Grader blade would achieve the same result mate, most likely even faster just depends on the amount of material you’re pushing out. Take smaller bites to put less strain on the gear and you’d be sweet

Hay krafts are you touching the controls or do you set it to grade then just walk your tracks

Hey mate, I’ll keep the bucket at relatively the same grade for each pass then I’ll use my bucket curl as I’m tracking to adjust how much the edge is cutting into the batter. When you start from the top and get a nice windrow going it makes it easy to just make small adjustments to the bucket curl and keep a consistent batter working as you windrow it down the batter.
