    this is my favorite floor plan. you only need is a pick-up truck and everything is set plus you can add a motorboat and everything is total enjoyment, fun and total independence.

    Follow up on my a/c with heat. The lights on the thermostat were going crazy when I tried to turn it on. Dealer said it would be 3 months before they could look at it. I was ready to just buy a new thermostat and install it myself. Pulled the cover off and the power wire was floating loose. Put the wire under its screw and tightened, now it works fine. Also none of the cabinets would open. I had to remove the latch catch plates and grind them down enough to clear. Other than those minor issues everything works fine and we are happy with the unit.

What a sweet camper, but for that price you spend 5 to 10k more and you can rock a HQ blackseries17. I would need that sweet dully as well with matching Wrap, toss in the boat and I'm sure you're in the neighborhood of 150k.

    Overhead bed is not great for handicap, impaired or seniors, very hard to get up in to. Plus said bedding area, tends to get hot/cold, much more compared to the rest of the unit. Other convert beds are not very comfortable for adults. Unit does sway on the road. I have 500,000 mls on mine. Would not recommend bumper pulling, does bounce great deal and afraid the bouncing could break away from the hitching welds. Toilet is most difficult for tall legs or big wide bums.

    • @kaylajocumsen2309
      @kaylajocumsen2309 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      With the correct truck and upgrades you shouldn’t have any sway and towing should never be a problem. Our bed never gets to hot as our AC blows directly on to it and it also have a heater vent so it’s never too cold. The bathroom is small but this is a truck camper. You have to pick the camper that fits best for you

      The camper dry and empty is just shy of 4,500 pounds. Loaded it pushes the capacity of a 350/3500 DRW truck. They are also towing a good size boat. By the sounds of it, they travel a lot. A 450/4500 would better suit their needs and be easier on the truck.

    • @kaylajocumsen2309
      @kaylajocumsen2309 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We had the F350 for our first rig and it did the job but we had to upgrade the suspension with all the we tow. We do travel often so when we got the chance to trade it in we went with the 450 due to it’s already upgraded suspension. It now needs nothing extra done to it and it ties like a dream! Always make sure you are checking your trucks tow capacity!

      Bigger better brakes for one big reason. He’s hauling heavy, bigger means safer your choices might be less (?)

      Jim Burwell's Petiquette hey Jim, we upgraded because the 450 has an upgraded suspension system. With the 350 we had to upgrade the suspension ourselves. The 1172 is very heavy but the 450 carries it like a dream!

      @@kaylajocumsen2309 - is the engine same as 350? what's your gear ratio? It's good to know that the 450 takes carrying the 1172 to a higher, safer and more comfortable level. If you weren't towing your boat would you still go with the 450?

      @@JimBurwellsPetiquetteHouston . You can get the F350 in rear axle ratio 3.73 and 4.10
      The F450 comes in 4.10 or 4.30. You cant get the f350 with a 4.30 rear. So the f450 has the advantage

      Grand Poobah in this video the truck is not lifted and the tires and wheels are stock. But we did just upgrade both, 3 inch lift and 35s

    Question: what truck do you use? Do you have to get a dually? I don't want a dually.

    Will your radio/DVD player play CDs? I have a new 1172 and mine won't play CDs. Also when I turn my heat on the A/C comes on.

    you can or can't enter the camper with the rear slide in ? and how much space is there if you leave second slide in to be able to get to the bed if you in a truck stop when moving from a spot to a spot ? this is or isn't a 4 season camper ?

    • @kaylajocumsen2309
      @kaylajocumsen2309 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are going to be in the camper while still on the truck you need to put out both slide completely. We always stay at truck spots and parking lots with both slides completely out and the camper still on the truck
