    Thank you. Sitting at right under 600 miles getting ready to do my first oil change and just picked up the 12-volt socket at the dealer. Did this with a minimal amount of cursing thanks to you.

    I’ve installed the OEM outlet, without removing the fairing. It’s pretty finicky, but it worked perfectly for me.

    Thanks a ton for this vid. I ordered a generic usb socket and can’t find any details on installing it. Looks much better to buy the Honda socket, as you’re doing. I didn’t even know it was available. So, from what I see, there’s a connector under the side panel that accepts the socket connector. No need to wire to the battery...seems like it’s right there. I’ll be ordering that socket and sending the other one back. Then I’ll just use a usb charger adapter to fit into the power socket.

    • @azrider6608
      @azrider6608  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya the Honda specific one is easy to install. You could cut off the factory connector and wire in one that way but I personally don't like to mess with the factory harness there is also a second accessory connection underneath the seat that I just came across

    • @topotone
      @topotone 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      AZ Rider yeah, I’m definitely in favor of the OEM Honda parts for stuff like this. I’ve ordered the part and will refer back to your vid to install. Looks fairly easy. Have you installed any hand guards like the barkbusters? I ordered some but had to send ‘em back. They didn’t fit the ‘19 cbx. Maybe these manufacturers have caught up with the requirements for the ‘19 model. Seemed like there was enough of a difference that caused things to be redesigned. I might try the guards instead of heated grips. My buddy keeps telling me to get a heated vest, and wire an outlet for it, but I’m not so sure I want to be riding if it’s cold enough to need heat.

    • @azrider6608
      @azrider6608  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@topotone I have not yet done any hand guards yet because the heated grips I have make a big difference I will be adding them eventually though. Right now I am saving for a good skid plate and a set of fog lights I am just trying to locate the factory fog light switch that goes in the center of the dash I found one for an Africa twin that might be the right one but I haven't got it yet still need to look at the wiring in that area.

      @@topotone found a part number for some hand guards from Honda 08P70-MJW-J80 this is for the 2019 model year doesn't have a good image though so I can't tell if it has a bark buster behind it

      Thanks for the video @AZ Rider! How the heck do you get the blank out of the connector? You explain that you released the lock and pulled out the blank with pliers. But I can’t figure it out. Where is the lock? Thanks!

  • @grafzahl7878
    @grafzahl7878 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great video. Very helpful indeed! Thanks for that and please go on making some service/maintenance videos for this great bike! I got two questiions. First is about the fuse. Is the socket running via one of the fuses in the fuse box? Second: Is the socket on permanent power or just when you turn on the key?

    • @azrider6608
      @azrider6608  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The socket is switched with the ignition and the fuse is in the fuse box as it is done through the factory wiring harness. There is a second spot for another socket under the seat as well as factory wiring under the fairing for the Honda heated grips

  • @topotone

    BTW, I put some Shad side cases on with their mounts and had a heck of a time fitting them. Just like you, the top would hit the grab bar. I ended up shimming out the mounts a little. Shad gave me refund of $50. for my troubles, essentially admitting they need to retool the mounts.

    • @azrider6608
      @azrider6608  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya I had to do a little bit of light bending to make them fit but once I did they fit fairly good now. I had to bend one again after the wife dropped the bike during her lesson

    • @azrider6608
      @azrider6608  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you put a switch inline with any of the three ABS fuses it should fault out and turn off ABS. As for getting it to turn back on you may have to shut off the bike and then turn it back on to get it working again. I do not have the ABS version so I won't be able to test it out for you.
