The history as told by Lee is completely different from the stories passed down and history researched by martial art historians. The style is called Zhu Jia Jiao 朱家教, literally Zhu Family Teaching, founded by Zhu Ya Nan朱亞南. Zhu A Nan was a famous Hakka teacher and his style is widespread among Hakka people in both Guangdong and Hong Kong.

Its funny I practice Shotokan karate but have always been fascinated by Wing Chug and Jeet Kune Do. Heck I have a big poster of Bruce Lee in my room. He is my childhood hero. Thank you Melissa I have enjoyed this video.

I wonder why part II is so much more popular than part I. I was interested to see Hakka people discussed. I looked in Wikipedia, it mentioned that half of the Politburo's central committee or something in the 1980's was Hakka people. I knew vaguely about different language groups in China, like Cantonese versus Mandarin. Let me suggest that Shaolin (Wiki has a good discussion of that under "Chinese Martial Arts") might teach us something here, even as a myth. A monastery is mostly silent, yes? Ethnicity usually refers to language. Why talk? Talking to yourself can really get you in trouble. But it's hard to stop. Part of stopping is getting control of your body. "Look, ma, I have a body!" The more you trust your body, the less you preach to yourself.

there used to have those international full contact competitions in taiwan, in the late 70's early 80's it was full contact and the small gloves with the holes for the fingers, kind of like the MMA style gloves but the ones they used to make back in those days. but after this one year where they had a lot of injured contestants they decided to add gloves similar to boxing gloves and also a set of rules. I think it was called the World Kuoshu Championship or something.

How many Mantis styles are there ? I just watched Ng Mu - Wing Chun on AHC, and they mentioned she developed a mantis style. Also, is there any truth that Ng Mui fought Fang Hsi Yu ? The movies have him as a cool guy but I read that she killed him in a fight. And last Bak Mei, just the opposite. The movies have him as a bad guy ( Mr.Lo Lieh, the best ), but the stories talks good things about him. Thanks.
