    Very educational video, thank you, I have the Same problem with my 2018 g80 3.8, dealer replaced the thermostat twice and the water pump, now they wanted to replace the thermostat again for the 3rd time In under a year, because the heat only works, when the the fan speed is at low, once I turn the fan speed to high, it’s cold, the radiator lower hose gets hot if the heat is off, once the heat on it stay cold,

    I got the code and I ordered for the thermostat complete with the housing just need to find a mech to fix it for me I went to Genesis the labour was too high that I was charged for 2018 genesis 3.3T

    This looks to be the 3.3T engine. Interesting, for such a fairly new car, already needs a thermostat replacement. I guess it's true what they say, turbocharged engines require more maintenance and more frequent repairs compared to NA engines. I have the 5.0 version for this car, and I am still on the original thermostat. Soon going to have the dealer replace it as I am approaching 100,000 miles.

    P0599 3.3T 2018, Replaced thermostat housing, and water pump, no heat, can’t bleed air? Used the funnel, car runs up to 230 degrees 210 degrees too, and the heat doesn’t blow warm, heater core hoses cold, as if thermostat isn’t opening….bled a lot of air out, still nothing. Took 2 gal of coolant.

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Usually what i do is used scantool to activate the electric thermostat under the software management, and then i manually bleed the cooling system. This engines are hard to bleed. You can try to elecate the front end while doing the funnel bleeding, then heater on and then raise the rpm. Just watch the funnel coz sometimes it will overflow back to the funnel and it will create a lot of mess of coolant. Hope that helps.

    How long did it take for you to replace the thermostat? How about a body shop mechanic who has the schematic but has never replaced this before?

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the person is mechanically incline maybe 2 hours, thats how long usually it takes me 2 to 3 hours with the coolant bleeding.

    If I don't have the scan tool to electrically bleed the coolant what are my options? Is this mandatory to do with the scan tool or is there another alternative?

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can try just the traditional bleeding, put a funnel on the raditor neck then watch for bubbles, then when warm up turn on heat then rev the engine to help move the coolant. You can also do vacuum fill.

    Hi, I have the same code and pretty much followed you here. I tested the plug to the thermostat and found power and continuity to the PCM side. I reconnected the plug and tested resistance on the thermostat and there was none. I then warmed up the car and there was still no resistance. Does that mean the thermostat is dead? Wouldn't it behave differently when fully warmed up?

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the circuit inside the thermostat is really open you wont get anything. That needs a new thermostat assembly. What i found on those failure the sensor has too much corrossion inside.

    Hello, I have this same car, and both fog lights don't come on, it shows it's on on the cluster, but the lights are not on, I checked to make sure that the fog light are connected, is there a fuse I can check? I don't seem to see any fuse for fog lights.

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just happen recently? Could be just a bulb issue in your case looks like its an led one. I dont think theres a specific fuse for the fog lamp. The best thing hook up a test light if it lights up you have led or bupb issue if doesnt light up you dont have power. Hope that helps

    I got the same code I bought the part the thermostat house and brought it to Hyundai dealership have them replace it when I got my car home the engine light pop up and got p0038 code.Do you know what it causes this?

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Im guesing when they did the thermostat they unplug one of the oxygen sensor and forgot to plug it back in or something messes the harness. Coz i think the p0038 is curcuit high, meaning open circuit so most likely unplug or damage harness. Double check the oxygen sensor connector

    • @hyundaitech
      @hyundaitech  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jashoang5859 could be not enough coolant or was not bleed properly, especially this models so hard to bleed the coolant. I would start from there, check if theres enough coolant and bleed the system then clear the code then test drive.
