I've yet to see a concrete case study by anyone over 4+ months (I would usually say 6+). I've spoken in detail about it with my SEO Roadmap students in our group coaching FB group so if you'd like to learn more that's where to find it :)
What about the March update that's happening right now which is eviscerating so many people's sites? Many of them which follow the exact principles you're suggesting in your video and people are still losing 95% to 100% of their traffic while all the media sites and Reddit and Quora are taking those top positions. Do you have any sites that are ranking high which you can show as proof which are surviving these Google updates?
The update is still ongoing. I do not comment tips for ranking post an update till we are actually post that update. The only information I've shared on it so far is a review of how my sites were faring initially here: sheknowsseo.co/march-2024-google-core-and-spam-update/
Hello Nina thanks for this. One thing is confusing though. If I have to no-index or delete posts that are not ranking well now, I would need to delete half of my site if not more. 😢 Especially now after the HCU hit. Years and years of hard work and money. And what if they will rank again with the next update? What I am trying to say is guess is that how do you decide what post needs to be deleted? I actually did some pruning in October and that’s when my views started to decline drastically, to be honest. Maybe a coincidence? Who knows…
It could definitely rank in future, but right now it's not so it's dragging down your site. I totally get it's hard to remove low hanging content but it is a good idea to cut loose what's not working or to edit it. Since it's a site wide hit, some of that content is what's dragging down the whole site. In future you can try indexing it again
Does writing on medium and linking to my website in the author bio count as backlinks? Because my blog is more of a lifestyle blog and it feels like backlinks only work for informational/educational blogs.
Nope backlinks work for any type of content. Guest posts are non discriminant :) Medium are no follow links so they're not as valuable. And because it's a mostly syndicated channel Google tends to give them less weight (I used to try to build backlinks that way a couple years ago. Did absolutley nothing).
It's not the size of the site. It's the type. First off no follow links tend to pass very limited link juice. Second anyone can post on Medium to get those links. It's the same as if you retweeted your own link like 50 times. How does that provide value? Links have more weight from popularity, anchor text, and the authority of the site recommending them. The type of site 100% comes into play @@ariela_
Hi, so I have to become a : physician+doctor+scientist+top model+travel agency seo+historian+geographist+digital marketer+restaurant owner+..... ? 😂😂😂😂
Not necessarily but if you're writing about medical information then yes you'd need to be an expert. This is why having a clear niche is important. And for travellers, being an active traveler to that location is vital or seeking sources from experts on things you don't know, like medicial information.
Love this Nina! Just started my content audit, so it's perfect timing!
Super helpful as always Nina! Thank you.
This was so helpful, thank you ❤
Very helpful as always!
I have extensive, well done authentic reviews. I even added a summary for the lazy readers. But still got bombed so hard. 90% traffic drop.
Very helpful and encouraging video, thank you Nina! ❤❤
Super helpful, thanks! I also agree about articles that fail to cut to the chase. Drives me nuts.
Ronda
do you think it makes sense to remove them and kinda republish them with a different / better URL=
Hi Nina. What are your thoughts on deleting low performing blog posts and republishing them under a new URL?

@@sheknowsseo in that case, if a big site like medium isn’t considered a valuable back link, how will I know what google deems as valuable
