    So, the short story is: buy a $1000- expired domain (and that is keeping it on the low side of things) with relevant backlink profile...
    Nothing has changed.

      Backlinks certainly seem to be helping - I'll be focusing on that in 2024 more and more.

    Some ideas on why the sites might have gotten slammed. 1)Lack of source links to other sites 2)Not enough relevant internal links 3)No relevant image alts 4)Not using API to update/request indexing 5)Maybe google is cross-checking Bard produced content against website content 6)Maybe they're sending spam email and the update references email outreach profiles by ip in their scores now.

    Hi Jesse, great video and very helpful. Slightly off topic but hoping you may be able to guide me to how I can recover a post that shows position 3 and was getting tonnes of traffic suddenly vanished after starting a topical cluster around it. The post still shows as position 3 oh AHrefs but is not seen on google. Guessing the 2nd post is too similar and have since changed yet original post still not shown. Thank you

    I definitely have some kind of invisible penalty on my site. Ever since it was hacked back in 2020 multiple times. Im 10 days away from migrating my while site (which the URL has been around since 2009) over to another URL I own and starting from scratch. This has consumed the last 7 months of my life. My whole livelihood as a freelance photographer in Maryland has been decimated.

    Great video Jessie! I had to take a watch I’ve been hearing soo much on reddit about HCU it’s insane at this point lol. I totally see what your saying about most sites that didn’t get hit backlinks, UX and DR age seem to be the most consistent. It’s just still boggling how it’s still not a always the case. I was thinking could mobile be an effect possibly.

      Yeah it's frustrating that there's always exceptions. Mobile speed and UI has always been important.

    One thing I notice which all of these websites have in common is the amount of images. But how do you find all of these images without violating copyright.
    I am writing a lot about sauna and tools like unsplash and pexels don’t have a lot of images related to sauna. Who can help me out?

    • @jessecunninghamv
      @jessecunninghamv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Midjourney could do really well for that. Their new model is pretty good. I’m not sure about the copyright of it but the quality is very good.

    Dear Cunningham,
    I really adore to watch all this things about SEO, and i think it could be a perfect job opportunity for me if I learn it properly. The only thing is blocking me, is the price of Ahrefs. What do you think, should I begin my SEO journey without ahrefs, because I can't afford it at the moment 😢. Ps . I really like your videos.Much respect from Serbia!

      I don’t think you need AHREFs to do SEO - you can do plenty without it. There’s a bunch of niches within SEO that don’t require it at all - think about on page SEO. You can write proper copy without AHREFs.

      @Neverhood. 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much for your prompt response and valuable insights on SEO. Your advice on not necessarily needing AHREFs for SEO has given me a new perspective. I am committed to implementing on-page SEO strategies and writing quality copy without solely relying on tools like AHREFs. Your guidance means a lot to me, and I'm eager to put your suggestions into practice. If there's anything specific you recommend for on-page SEO or other aspects, I'd be grateful for any further guidance. Thanks again for your generosity in sharing your knowledge!

      What Google wants is ever-changing. Now they have given approval to AI content almost indirectly. Blogging is dead already

      Atleast Google should reward those users who are not producing content via AI, but they seems not to..Sad

    • @rvngo2989
      @rvngo2989 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AdvicesAcademyNetwork AI is sh** for writing a whole article. You still need to edit them A LOT. After the 3rd one you start to see the repetitive phrases and even paragraphs. If you ask it to write about the top restaurants, destinations, etc, it makes things up, rather than use factual information. So we use it to assist with creating outlines, frameworks, and other time saving tasks but not writing long form content.

    I was at the impression that having the Amazon disclosure at the top of every article was one of the things that Google didn't like since the HCU?
    And for those of us who don't have sites on an aged domain and don't have an aged domains backlink profile, should we double down on getting backlinks in 2024?

    I believe eeat helps curve these helpful content updates, does adding author bios help with rankings or with eeat in the long term? Or is it not worth it.

    • @jessecunninghamv
      @jessecunninghamv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      IMO it’s a secondary ranking factor

    • @Digitalcataloghub
      @Digitalcataloghub 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jessecunninghamv it’s not really a ranking factor but more for quality and credibility which in the long term I believe helps because if you only focus on ranking high without eeat then your ranking high with spammy content and no trust signals which in the long term won’t work. Specifically I’m wondering if adding author bios for every post will have a big impact or if it’s not worth it, I planned on adding them but representing my business as the author with all my knowledge and experience presented through my brand name.

    I loved the video and comparisons. I have a question regarding blog names. Let's say we are talking about a niche cooking site. Does having the name of the main cuisine you write about in your URL help you rank? Or is it okay to have a broad name (i.e. Cooking with Cristina) as long as you have lots of content about that cuisine? I worry that I picked a broad name and have an impact on rankings.

    backlinks will become more important because of AI generated content. How will google choose the best content among the same content in the web?

  • @TheThinFrame
    @TheThinFrame 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I see clearly the ones getting penalized most of the times is poor interface and poor design, google is clearly against bad quality websites without proper branding and design just posting crazy content just to rank

    • @jessecunninghamv

    • @jessecunninghamv

      i couldnt say with 100% certainty what it is. It seems to me that Google sent out a wide-net in this last update for sure, catching tons of different types of websites. Was it backlinks (or lack) was it content (poor content) was it other signals? It's really hard to say because for every web site I see that got slammed, I know of other websites that are excellent which got hit too. So i'm not 100% sure yet - we'll see how it unfolds.@@TheThinFrame
