remember that in a 2017 interview on Alfrely, Daron said that she was working on S4 and hopes that they get more seasons. soooooo, Disney rushed them into wrapping everything up............in the middle of the season.....when they planned to do so much more.
Daron confirmed that she and the other creators knew they were only going to get four seasons. Even if she hoped for more, she should’ve had a more satisfying conclusion planned since she knew she would most likely only get those four seasons
Jess Jaffa I thought she didn’t know for sure. She thought that she’d probably get four die to the fact that no Disney show had gone beyond 4 seasons so she came up with this ending, but, she was hoping for more seasons
Nick P She posted about it somewhere, I don’t remember where. If you wanna find the source, I’d recommend watching Blue Order’s video ‘How Star Vs the Forces of Evil Fell From Grace,’ it’s in there somewhere. It’s a lengthy video, but I’d recommend watching it anyway, it has a lot of insight on why season four is so poorly written Also even if she *wanted* more seasons, that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have planned an ending anyway. Knowing that most shows like SVTFOE only get about four seasons should’ve been enough for her to say “Hey, I probably won’t get more than four seasons and should therefore plan a satisfying and well-written ending!” But with all the filler episodes, unanswered questions and downplaying of the consequences of destroying the magic, season four just turned out a complete mess
It was disappointing in some areas But the part that made me smile is that Moon got to see her mother Comet one last time, and Eclipsia made peace with her mom Solaria who in returned held family love highest then old idealism most of all *I'll miss Glosyerik* *If This show taught us anything, Nothing lasts forever, but it was a weird, unexcepted, cool ride we all had together*
@@moonstone7244 All the build up to solaria hating monsters and here is a magic using half monster abomination from her own blood line in her eyes while one of her most trusted and FIRST AND ONLY loyal ally is being murdered in front of her as they destroy her legacy and magic to what end? John Doe I think it was more of Solaria realizing that she was wrong about her monsters. She was able to see her grandchild and see that she was half monster but isn’t that bad. She also didn’t defend Mina because Mina was trying to her her daughter, and even though Solaria hates monsters and her daughter is married to one, I’m pretty sure she’d protect her daughter and let someone who was trying to kill her daughter die.
Or they should have put five more minutes in the finale to act as an epilogue a time skip 1-2 years later after the events of cleaved that would tie up all the loose ends and give a more climatic ending.
I think Cleaved should have been a two-part episode; it honestly felt rushed and breaking the finale into two parts would have allowed more time to certain events, namely; Marco vs Tom, the storm inside the magic realm, Glossirik's final moments, the end of the MHC (yay), and seeing more of Earth's and Mewni's fusion. I did enjoy the finale for what it was; but it could have been better.
That's one of the reasons why I think Cleaved should have been a 2-Part Episode; we would have gotten a better epilogue that further showed Mewman's and Monster's adapting to life in a Merged Universe.
i don’t remember who said it but, somebody who worked on the show said they were lucky to even get a 3rd-4th season that’s why they were rushed to finish it. But it definitely could’ve been better
Hated the ending. Hated that magic is gone, felt rushed, Marco's cheekmarks, firstborn, the evil horses, Marco being wounded meant nothing in the long run. It didn't feel like a series finale, I feel like Star without her powers isn't Star herself. I don't want this to be concluded at this point.
Kinda messed up.The realm of Magic is destroyed,a species of magical beings wiped out,all because some individuals used magic reckelessly.Instead of teaching people to be more responsible with magic, nah wipe it out completely.
@@chaddfrancis2179 Yeah they *really* pushed the idea that apparently all these people suddenly distrusted magic and apparently had felt this way all along despite the fact that no one ever said anything until now, aside from Toffee, who only disliked it cause it gave others the strength to beat his immortal lizard powers. Also, Heekapoo is a chill person, but I really doubt she'd be okay with *dying* because no one could think of a way to stop the Solarian Knights aside from destroying magic.
@@chaddfrancis2179 İ agree!!! I've been trying to find some one that think the same way İ do, magic was never the problem it was the poeple Who used it for selfish needs. This plot basically took the blame off of everyone Who used it stupidly. Which İ dont agree with one bit. İt was A really dissapşonting series finale tbh..
That's because it really wasn't. Mina babbling on about "ideas" as she walks away with Manfred... Moon and Eclipsa discussing parenting tips... The whole "bringing the realms together" thing... Star and Marco staring blankly at each other like they're meeting again for the first time... The whole thing was basically setting-up for a story to come. And of course there's the underlying fact that Daron Nefcy has previously admitted to wanting to work with these characters again in the future... So yeah, this wasn't a finale so much as it was a segue to a sequel of some sort. When or if such a sequel will ultimately come to pass is an entirely open question, but there's no denying the fact that the production staff purposefully left that door wide open.
Steve Cope Yeah maybe. I just hope if they reboot it/do a sequel or spinoff series they do it well and it still has all the things that made this series so good in it
I think they should make an epilogue or a movie/5th season to show what happens with Marco and star (maybe even them getting married or something :>) and also, how the cleaved universes create a good society that helps all the new people fit in and benefit. They left A LOT of potential to make a great story even if there is no magic. Star and Marco have proven that they’re good at fighting without magic, so I think it would be interesting. Make sure to like if you want this :)
@@sarimkhann386 woah, that explains why dead humans go to the mewni underworld - because the first mewmen were human (which Marco found out in the basement of the taco place)

The fact that Seahorse & Ponyhead can still fly may mean that they have an ability to fly that's independent to magic, but it could also be that there exists a type of magic that exists independently from the Realm of Magic & thus follows polarized rules. It could be possible that the Realm of Magic is actually a relatively new dimension, while magic itself is a force that has existed since the beginning of time & works more passively than the show's version of it. In a way, I kinda wanna think over Marco's initial comment when reacting to Star's idea, "Is it even possible to destroy magic?" As I find it interesting.
Ya guys, it actually have a pretty good ending, I personally loved it... ❤️ Only glossaryck and MHC died, and the others got a second chance, I loved it.. People are overreacting and they want a sad ending than a happy one... What do you think about the ending.. Hope you liked it as much as I did 😊
Sorry to reply to this literally two years later but I was rewatching the show and had a theory for this, which has to do with the concept that the realm of magic is actually pretty new. When the humans come to mewni they travel by a sea of magic, which in a way could imply at before the settlers came, earth and mewni could have both been one whole dimension from the very start. With this in mind I theorize that some event happened somewhere during the rule of the first 26 queens of mewni (aka every queen that came before Skywyne and therefore wasn’t recorded). This “event”, whatever it was, caused earth and mewni to split, dividing the two worlds, but also causing the sea of magic to become its own dimension, acting as a bridgeway or ‘middle man’ between the two worlds (theory 1). An alternative way this ‘event’ happened is that earth was magical just like mewni, but due to the cleaving of both sides, essentially splitting the magical world in two, the people on one of the sides somehow sacrificed all magic in their world and used it to create a portal realm back to the other half (theory 2). The carvings Marco found could either be left behind by the first settlers before earth and mewni split in half (theory 1), or be carving that the people of earth made to indicate the portal but was eventually lost to time (theory 2). Anyway, going back to the very end of the show, assuming this is roughly what happened a bajillion years ago, once star eliminated the realm of magic, she essentially eliminated the dimension that divided the two worlds in the first place, causing them to mash back together. In simpler terms, she deleted the ‘hallway’ (realm of magic) between the two ‘rooms’ (earth and mewni), which made them into one big room. I mean just like glossaryck said, you can cleave something apart or you can cleave two things together. Star essentially cleaved together…a cleave, if that makes sense. Anyway yeah sorry for rambling and you’ll probably never see this, but it’s just a thought I’ve had in my mind for a while. I do think it could make a good prequel show tho-

Disney or Nefcy are definitely planning something. Either a sequel or a movie or a book or something. I highly doubt they're going to end the series like this. It's not a Teen Titans thing where the show just ended abruptly due to Warner Brothers being incompetent/greedy dipshits, this had to have been planned in some way and unlike GFalls I doubt it was intended to end in such a way otherwise Nefcy would've said something about it.

Beyond the confusion of the immediate adjustment period, does anybody see a problem with joining Earth and Mewni together? I mean, Mewni is still basically in their own medieval period, (albeit a somewhat "Disneyfied" version). And now they just became next door neighbors to a 21st-century, post-industrial technocracy. Meanwhile, anyone who thinks a meeting between two civilizations of vastly different technological development can end well, needs to go have a long talk with their nearest aboriginal culture. Oh, and they don't have magic as a hedge to fall back on anymore. So they're basically carrying bows and broadswords into direct contact with a civilization that has tanks and artillery and thermonuclear weapons at their immediate disposal. Yeah... This is TOTALLY going to work out well for them.
Let’s not forget also that other universes collided, Kelly’s war like civilization and other beings who are warlike alongside monsters are now gonna be a target for humans, or in a brighter note (as a warning this is not bright) the humans will enslave, and kill them... again no bright side here
All right, show of hands. If and when they do a sequel show, movie, or comic book, who wants to see Star and Marco’s wedding? I know I’m not the only one! Also, Vox and Roundtable, you guys got almost all the finale right. You’re either psychic, inside sources, or just really good at calling stuff.

I mainly just wanted to know what would happen with tom. Once we got him, I was unsatisfied, its wasn't fulfilling. And Marco and Star staying was a little aggravating mainly because not much took place And then the monsters live on earth now
Plus if your notice their cheek signs.. Star: hearts Moon: diamonds Eclipsa: spades Metiora: cloves Like the ones in the cards! Or is it just me not catching up! 😅😅😅
It didn't feel finished in the end. It felt like there were suppose to be more seasons afterwards to show the growth of this new world where Mewnie and Earth are one. Like what the hell happens to the humans? What do they think of this? Who's in charge now? What becomes of the villagers with no homes? I also wanted us to see the Starco relationship now grow rather than be a fantasy that was achieved at the very end. I really wanted to see if they would ever fight again, what their friendship would turn into after they got together, what would they be like now? Would it be awkward for Marco and his breakup pal? Would it be weird for their friends to see how Star and Marco are now? There are too many questions! It felt like they left us with wanting more but knowing there wouldn't be more and it was just upsetting. (This was edited to explain more of what my point was)
They forced too much into 1 episode. The mewni and Earth together made no sense at all,it was just so Marco and star could be together. No way that would have happned ever even if there was more seasons.

Actually no... Only the MHC and glossaryck are magically created, the mewmans, monsters and the others are not magically created... Only these people went out of existence for good... But the ending is actually amazing, but no one actually realise it ❤️
Well the only ones who died or vanished were the ones that are completely made out of magic like 100% magic unlike the mewmans who have magic but aren't completely made out of magic
Possibly, but we already know that wild dragoncycles exist in at least two dimensions. The Neverzone where Marco found Nachos, and whatever dimension Tom released his dragoncycle into earlier this season. So it's possible that Mewni also has its own population of wild dragoncycles. But if it was just Earth and Mewni, that sucks that Kelly and Talon Raventalon will never see their friends again. And will never even know what happened to separate them.
In all honesty I felt that season 2 and season 3's endings even outshined the series Finale. Disney should have gave Daron Nefcy and the team more time to develop this one. Regardless Star Vs. Still remains as one of my favorite shows :)
People say she had a lot more plans for the show, but Disney wouldn't let her go through with it and they rushed the crew with the finale. So she had to work with the time she had.

Both Eclipsa and Meteora had the same "antennae" coming from their heads. It could be because they're mother and daughter and therefore have similar physical traits, but I also wonder if it has something to do with them being of the true Butterfly bloodline.

remember that in a 2017 interview on Alfrely, Daron said that she was working on S4 and hopes that they get more seasons.
soooooo, Disney rushed them into wrapping everything up............in the middle of the season.....when they planned to do so much more.
ooof
It’s a lengthy video, but I’d recommend watching it anyway, it has a lot of insight on why season four is so poorly written
Also even if she *wanted* more seasons, that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t have planned an ending anyway.
Nick P I thought Phineus and Ferb had more than five seasons.

Or they should have put five more minutes in the finale to act as an epilogue a time skip 1-2 years later after the events of cleaved that would tie up all the loose ends and give a more climatic ending.
@@shadowlord9607 that's exactly what i meant to say!
I didnt get the whole multiverse fusion stuff,it just seemed like something made up so Marco and Star can see each other at the end.

I’m gonna be honest, I enjoyed cleaved but I was left very underwhelmed and disappointed.
It just didn’t feel like a series finale to me.
same
I think it should've been more epic and intense. It didn't have a Series finale Atmosphere
I just hope if they reboot it/do a sequel or spinoff series they do it well and it still has all the things that made this series so good in it
Dumbagon it felt like a new season could come out of that ending. i wish

I feel like the portal appearing after magic for destroyed signals that magic still exists. Just like you said, in another form.

We never got to learn about Selenia the Shy though and I think that was gonna be important and maybe even come back to Marco
Idk why people think Celena is related to Marco , it's just an effect of using the wand
@@phatly37 But no queens have the same cheek marks, there are so many symbols and things that especially could relate to Marco but they choose Celenas? I was really disappointed when It came to her chapter (I could barely read it tho bc of the swirly cursive) we learned nothing about her life and the fact that we only see the fan-part of her wand.

He also pronounced miscellaneous like "misk-kellaneous" which is a very weird choice.
The ending seemed very rushed
Yeah I was expecting a 1 hour episode, it would be sufficient to make things REALLY better
Well what do you expect. It's a series finale and they had to fit it in a 23 min. episode. It deserved a bigger ending. But I'm satisfied and happy non the less
Star basically killed half of the universe as half of the beings in the svstfoe universe are made of magic
Wow thats a pretty dark ending
Actually no... Only the MHC and glossaryck are magically created, the mewmans, monsters and the others are not magically created... Only these people went out of existence for good... But the ending is actually amazing, but no one actually realise it ❤️
@@saranaushad8211 well they cripple most magic people, but how is it good?
Well the only ones who died or vanished were the ones that are completely made out of magic like 100% magic unlike the mewmans who have magic but aren't completely made out of magic
@@nitroblaze6696 And besides, it was just so good! It's not to be taken seriously..... It was such a blissful cartoon!💟
@@nitroblaze6696 Only the MHC turned into mere objects... the others lost their magic, but they are still alive...
Based on the dragon cycles I think they cleaved all dimensions together
Yeah I was wondering this too, as I thought dragon cycles only existed in the neverzone.
nope, only Mewni, and that includes the Underworld
Kelly & the shades bird went back to their respective dimensions
Possibly, but we already know that wild dragoncycles exist in at least two dimensions. The Neverzone where Marco found Nachos, and whatever dimension Tom released his dragoncycle into earlier this season. So it's possible that Mewni also has its own population of wild dragoncycles.
But if it was just Earth and Mewni, that sucks that Kelly and Talon Raventalon will never see their friends again. And will never even know what happened to separate them.
After first seeing him, you'd never expect that Tom would be the most developed and most likable character in the show, but he definitely is.
*begins crying
I'll miss you H-poo!

Disney: We love magic!
Svtfoe: *Destroy le magic*
Disney: Ima end u >: O
LMAO
i laughed harder than i shouldve
*slowly disappears *
Disney: fudge
In all honesty I felt that season 2 and season 3's endings even outshined the series Finale. Disney should have gave Daron Nefcy and the team more time to develop this one. Regardless Star Vs. Still remains as one of my favorite shows :)
People say she had a lot more plans for the show, but Disney wouldn't let her go through with it and they rushed the crew with the finale. So she had to work with the time she had.
@@animelover-vj6qy do you know where she states that? I would love to read up on it
This is so true, they were really good but the very last seaosn finale was meh. Not bad but not epic and intense enough in my opinion.
@@animelover-vj6qy this just makes me so angry
So true it code have being much better and it is still one of my favourite too.
That scene were Jenna pretends to Flat line is hilarious and a nice laugh you get before it all ends.

Bro starco happends and evryone just... end it ;-;
After the finale I want the funko pop of eclipsa's butterfly form
I think a funko pop of Toffee is in order.
It would have been nice if moon's mother mouthed "I love you" or "I am proud of you" to moon
THERE SHOULD BE A MOVIE OF SVTFOE, THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL, AND GRAVITY FALLS!
Wait a minute if Reynaldo is in a place both the past future and present doesn't that mean than he's still existing cause magic is still in the past
Ye and for the love of--
FATHER TIME!! He kinda is magic, partly, I mean he lives for eternity and he can move a friggin enormous time wheel.... if he's gone then we're all frozen

Blame Disney 's 4 seasons rule
Disney is an ass for forcing Daron to finish the series for their 4 season rule. She also said that she had a lot of ideas to add to make a better finale :(
Dimentio is not pleased with this XD
Wait a sec ...... It's not just Glossaryck and the MHC that died/non existent......
Isn't Baby also made of magic?? THAT cat that said Star's powers is strong like Eclipsa's .........

I actually liked the ending a lot. Sure, it left a lot of stuff open to interpretation, but I enjoyed it overall. Simple ending with Star and Marco at the end was nice as well. Sure, I'd have loved to see more questions answered.. but alas. :(
RIP Hekapoo. The real MVP.

Glossaryck to Star: Dread it, run from it. Destiny still arrives
*Star destroys all magic*
Toffee: Balanced as all things should be
Nice reference
Are you sure magic is destroyed?? Luz and the Boiling Isles still use it!!
Toffee: they called me a mad man
I absolutely loved the scene with all the queens, while the finale wasn’t too great in my opinion (it was okay), that scene was great.
Actually I personally think that it had an amazing ending, and people are overreacting, and they prefer a sad ending than a happy one... I loved it ❤️ only mhc and glossaryck died and the others survived, and many got a second chance..
Ugh im getting that feeling of my heart hurting because a good series ended
The good series you know and love ended in season 2 everything after that is just fked up shit
