    10:37 - in Poland it's very common to use "Plak" (this is brand name, but is used as a name for any type of it) - interior cleaner product. Cheap, big cans, and it's "softer" for engine (less explosives, but enough to start a car, even diesel one). Oh and you have nicely smelling fumes :)

    Excessive rust on/in weird spots are often from mice urine that's that's pooled for ages or dripped down into lower areas. Rust from salt usually attacks exterior bits, and would need a hole or something to leak through and THEN pool up in to start rusting.

    For the gas tank you can take it to a radiator shop and they can fix the pin hole plus line it so it won't rust anymore. That's what we do here in the states for vintage cars when you can't find a replacement.

    Well I started watching your channel after seeing the is200 throttle body vid. Something I was looking into for my is200... Then this was a suggested vid. I went a little bit nuts with my old cappo; 698cc displacemnt, forged pistons, ported, take off 3 puck clutch, rebuilt & heat treated gearbox, billet ally flywheel & pulleys and heaps more. I miss it, but rust absolutely ruins them here in the UK.

    Found a few here in the US, mostly in Baltimore. Duncan Import & Classic has Honda Beat, Suzuki Cappuccino, Daihatsu Kei trucks and Mira Box trucks, Mazda Cosmo, Nissan Figaro and Skyline, Toyota Sera. And so many cool unknown to most of us in the US cars. I could spend hours just browsing that page lol. Mostly your fault Benny, had me looking for a Cresta or other project car that would be unique here in the sates. And yes I still have that run over Cup that fell out the trailer here in Charleston lol.

      It made 64rwkw with the N2 suzukisport ecu and 1.2bar on the factory turbo, but they run out of puff very early. Apparantly it should do 80rwkw+ with the HT07 on the same boost. But we'll see how it does!

    Mate you should really look into a long socket extension bar. I bought a 900mm impact extension many years ago and have never had to gang like 6 extensions since! a 900mm extension and ball sockets will make you wonder why you dicked about with anything else for getting gearboxes off! Strap-on does a really good one with 1/2" drive at the back and a collar based locking detent on the other end in 3/8" drive, which allows me to get into some really tight spaces, and sockets never jump off.

    • @BennysCustomWorks

      Toyota's C56 is pretty light, too; When my MR2 blew her transmission out, I was able to carry both the old carcass and the replacement unit pretty easily. Then again, it's a transaxle, not a longitudinal unit like the Cappuccino's, so since it's literally the only transmission I've ever personally hefted about, maybe transaxles're all just super lightweight compared to traditional FR-style designs and the C56 is no heavier or lighter than comparable units. Hell if I know! XD

    • @sw96
      @sw96 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      e199sigma
      I’d think that an equivalent transaxle would be heavier than a regular transmission, considering the additional weight of the diff in it. The only transmissions I’ve pulled have all been fwd transaxles, I only weighed one of them on a whim (from a Pug 306, was ~40kg) a comfortable lift when working on stands, I’d not want to try and lift it overhead under a hoist though.

    I know this feeling.... It's the "I never should have sold my other one that I put so much love/effort into" :'(
    I grudgingly sold my clean af FTO that I'd sunk so much money and time into (and loved dearly) as I was only using it very infrequently. I had bought a newer, faster and more convenient car, but I hung on to it for nearly 2 years before the rego/insurance costs became a burden.
    I am now condemned to forever looking for another one, only to be perpetually disappointed by what is available and the effort it would take to re-attain that high revving v6 2 litre NA life again 0.o
