ruby is probably the most misunderstood character in this show because up until volume 9 i think all of us even the characters themselves pegged ruby to be this naive little girl who wanted to save the world but then we come to realize what has been bothering her this entire time and how she’s been trying to suppress all of it for her team and the people who looked up to her. the t0rtur3 scene was so hard to watch but on top of that i feel so bad for ruby because she just wanted to be understood and even after she had yelled at wby + jaune they were still confused as to how this came to be. yang’s line of “it’s not like we were asking her to be perfect” is significant because whether they intended or not they kind of held her to those standards. always looking to ruby for answers, plans, expecting her to always be sunshine and rainbows (which is probably one of the main reasons they didn’t make a big deal out of her moping the whole volume , they assumed she’d be okay). i’m glad ruby finally stood up for herself to be like “hey i’m here too” and “hey i have feelings too.” also i should probably mention that ruby has a tendency to blame herself for everything even when it’s not her fault hence why she takes what jaune said and doesn’t refute. ruby only suggested using the staff but was completely out of it after the whole hound situation so the other characters actually formulated the plan as we see at the table in the schnee manor. atlas was doomed from the start salem even tells them “they’re job was never to succeed (watts & tyrian” but to “set the stage for me.” salem was gonna come no matter what.

Neo was out for ALL the smoke 😂. She went in on Ruby and I can't even be mad at her. Her commitment game was on point that she wasn't even letting the Cat Ruin it 😂.
I love how Neo felt only emptiness after believing Ruby was finally dead. She thought revenge would satisfy her, but in the end it did not. Ruby had all of that emotion pent up for years and I like how it'd been bubbling up through this volume. She took it too far with the remarks to Jaune about his friends being "imaginary" especially since he's been there by himself for years waiting for them to come back. On top of that, I was not keen on her yelling at Weiss, who's been there for her and been one of her biggest supporters. I do think Jaune was wrong to just blame Ruby for the Atlas plan mostly failing since he was a part of it and it was a collective team effort and no one expected Cinder to show up with Neo. And yeah I do think they should also account for the fact that Jaune HAD to do what he did to Penny and he has to live with it for the rest of his life. If someone had told me Jaune would be making strides to elite tier character like 3-4 years ago, I'd have said he's upper-midcard at best. But nah, I really like the direction they're going. Also I am pretty sure that Neo was speaking through the illusionary characters she created. But yeah, she dropped the Atomic emotional damage bomb on Ruby. XD

Now, Neo can only feel hollow inside because of misconception of her own mimetic desire.
Neo is TAPPED, and after seeing HOW the cat took over her body, I'd be surprised if she was ever "normal" ever again. Her eyes during that scene were graphic 😬

Really mistook your name mentioned for Adachi. Can see both as the cat. They both manipulate and enjoy things out of curiosity sake. Personally Adachi just fits better though for me due to the whole "I just love what I do" mantra however.

If you read the books, you learn that 'Neo' is a young woman named 'Trivia'. Her parents were shitheels and broke her, and her Semblance gave birth to Neo (massive oversimplification) who it's IMPLIED is a separate person. If that is true, then the twist they COULD go for is Trivia resisting now that NEO is broken. Or I'm overthinking massively

Personally I'd assume no, unless they actually go deeper into Neo's backstory in-series - having something like a dormant personality suddenly surfacing with no explanation except in an expanded universe book would be poor storytelling, so if it does happen I wouldn't expect it for a season or two at the earliest.

This isn't like the early volumes where the World of Remnant shorts were released in order with the episodes, books are secondary media. No-one should be expected to read up on all the books to still be able to understand and enjoy the main series. Referencing stuff in those books for people who know the reference is perfectly fine, but if reading a book is critical to understand what's happening in the plot, that plot needs to be redone so the book is no longer critical. It doesn't need to be spelled out, but NO-ONE enjoys finding out halfway through a story that they should have been reading this other story beforehand.

It's either: - Leonardo Lionheart "the cowardly lion", but he has been dead since volume 5 after the battle of Haven, Salem's squid grimm stabbed him to death. - Hazel Rainart "From Hansel and Gretel", who did turn enraged when hearing Ozpin's name because he believed that Ozpin send out Hazel's sister to her death on a training mission. Allthough Hazel dead in volume 8 by holding Salem in place so Oscar could blast them. - James Ironwood "The tin man". As Oscar teamed up with alot of people (Winter, Ren, Jaune, Nora, Emerald) to take down Ironwood. Allthough he is assumed dead by crash landing with the entire city of Atlas at the volume 8 final. Most likely James, he had the iron body. 19:40 both parties went way to far, both parties are hurting, so both parties anger is also justified. Jaune finally found some people/beings that he was able to save for decades at this point, all in a desperate attempt to not be alone anymore after getting betrayed/poisoned by Alyx. It also didn't help that Jaune named them all after people he knew (his team, his friends, his family), it only made it harder to let the Paper pleasers go and it doesn't help that Jaune is used as the punching bag in the RWBY series alot, he never got over some of his losses, Pyrrha, Penny, Louis. He had to make extremely tough decisions that needed to be made to 'help' Penny pass the powers over to Winter, Jaune could had saved Penny but Cinder would had just attacked them in the process during Jaune's healing. Jaune could had run all the way back to Pyrrha as she was battling Cinder, but he would never make it in time and we don't know what happend to Louis yet, it's said that Louis and Alyx both reached to tree, but alot is still unknows as Louis was writen out of Alyx's story. Same for Ruby, she has lost alot and it's obvious that she's not over it, giving away Penny's blade to the Red prince. Giving away her mother's emblem (that contained a mother's promise). Blake and Ruby thinking that Yang died, once Yang fell first into the void. Ruby being the only one that was able to fight when the others got turned small put a big burden on her. The herbalist straight out confronting Ruby with her younger self that: "Ruby has to continue fighting for the rest of her life agains an immortal witch that took her mother". It was all set up that Ruby was reaching her breaking point. Then you have Neo that slapped Ruby way beyond her breaking point. At the same time completed one of her major goals, as Ruby was Neo's target ever since Roman got swallowed whole by a grimm, at the volume 3 final. Neo thought it was Ruby that killed Roman, but no, they themselfs and Cinder let the Grimm into the city. So Neo was an empty husk for the cat to take over her heart.
I think what’s important to note here is that the Curious Cat is much like the Salem of this verse. The gods left here before and cursed him with the need to be forever curious? Sounds like a certain cat tried something similar with the gods on this world before they left. So does that mean that falling off in the between worlds teleport you to different places the gods have made? And did they continue to make things after Remnant? I hope they do answer these things later on after opening this up to us.
I know they said that Penny sacrificed herself, but no one is actually acknowledging that Juane did an assisted suicide. And the guilt weight is killing him.
From what I understand, ruby didn't decide to be the leader so much as it was forced on her/nobody else did it. I dont watch the show but I've seen clips people showed of all the times people said she decided to be the leader and it turns out that isnt really the case. There's apparently not actually many if any times she dir3ctly says she has to be the leader. Also nobody else argued otherwise b3cause they agreed or realized they didn't have time/room to argue otherwise later in the story. You'll also note that when ruby dropped her gun sytche thing, they knew she was clearly emotionally disturbed but once again something else happens that directs everyone away from her suffering. My conclusion is that she was only in the wrong to say "make believe friends" but that everything else was valid. The dude even realized what he said wasn't true and wanted to take it back but couldn't. If you go back and watch season nine, everytime someone asks her if something is wrong immediately they ignore her right after becauae everything else is more important and then they don't follow up.
Again, I have not watched the show at all. Only got interested when I saw her outbreak in episode 7. But I've seen enough clips and did watch season 9 to say her outburst is justified.
I dont know whats worse. The fact i called Neo's stomp happening as a joke that would finally make her simp army realize shes an irredeemable monster after six volumes of defending a psychotic murder enjoyer, or the fact im still seeing them saying she can be saved and redeemed.

I've always said that Neo is an irredimible paychopath but her fans always pet her because she is cute, after this episode, will they still arguing that she could become an ally and friend to the protagonist? If they do, then they are more hopeless than Neo's redemption arc 😅
She's still not out of the ally closet. I don't expect her to do a full turnaround like Emerald but it's possible she will side with them against Salem under the right circumstances especially since she wants revenge on Cinder too not just Ruby.
I want Neo to survive because I love the character, but also because even despite all the horrible things she’s done, nobody, not even Neo, deserves to live as a puppet to the cat. She’s essentially trapped in her own mind while the cat pilots her body. What I’m hoping for is Jaune, who has tried and failed to save so many people, will save Neo from the cat’s possession. She doesn’t need to be redeemed, or even join the good guys, but simply giving her the CHANCE to do the right thing is what heroes do
I'm not ashamed to admit that... I'm still falling for the cuteness AHAHAH She's just such an entertaining character mann, with all the criticism of RWBY as a show, I can rely on Neo to at least be FUN to watch. If she dies, I'm 100% gonna lose it.

honestly in ep.7 when Ruby goes off on everyone I kinda didn't feel it as much as I probably should have. Yes the "Why do I have to be the Leader?" bit in the beginning was good it was unique enough to say it was something genuinely for Ruby Rose as a character, the other two parts of her going off were "What about me!?" and "So happy for you two sorting out your feelings finally!!!" and we've all heard the last two parts of this rant in a lot of other media almost word for word. 13:36 Not many that Oscar fought with someone that had a beard. It's either:
- Leonardo Lionheart "the cowardly lion", but he has been dead since volume 5 after the battle of Haven, Salem's squid grimm stabbed him to death.
- Hazel Rainart "From Hansel and Gretel", who did turn enraged when hearing Ozpin's name because he believed that Ozpin send out Hazel's sister to her death on a training mission. Allthough Hazel dead in volume 8 by holding Salem in place so Oscar could blast them.
- James Ironwood "The tin man". As Oscar teamed up with alot of people (Winter, Ren, Jaune, Nora, Emerald) to take down Ironwood. Allthough he is assumed dead by crash landing with the entire city of Atlas at the volume 8 final.
Most likely James, he had the iron body.
19:40 both parties went way to far, both parties are hurting, so both parties anger is also justified. Jaune finally found some people/beings that he was able to save for decades at this point, all in a desperate attempt to not be alone anymore after getting betrayed/poisoned by Alyx. It also didn't help that Jaune named them all after people he knew (his team, his friends, his family), it only made it harder to let the Paper pleasers go and it doesn't help that Jaune is used as the punching bag in the RWBY series alot, he never got over some of his losses, Pyrrha, Penny, Louis. He had to make extremely tough decisions that needed to be made to 'help' Penny pass the powers over to Winter, Jaune could had saved Penny but Cinder would had just attacked them in the process during Jaune's healing. Jaune could had run all the way back to Pyrrha as she was battling Cinder, but he would never make it in time and we don't know what happend to Louis yet, it's said that Louis and Alyx both reached to tree, but alot is still unknows as Louis was writen out of Alyx's story.
Same for Ruby, she has lost alot and it's obvious that she's not over it, giving away Penny's blade to the Red prince. Giving away her mother's emblem (that contained a mother's promise). Blake and Ruby thinking that Yang died, once Yang fell first into the void. Ruby being the only one that was able to fight when the others got turned small put a big burden on her. The herbalist straight out confronting Ruby with her younger self that: "Ruby has to continue fighting for the rest of her life agains an immortal witch that took her mother". It was all set up that Ruby was reaching her breaking point.
Then you have Neo that slapped Ruby way beyond her breaking point. At the same time completed one of her major goals, as Ruby was Neo's target ever since Roman got swallowed whole by a grimm, at the volume 3 final. Neo thought it was Ruby that killed Roman, but no, they themselfs and Cinder let the Grimm into the city. So Neo was an empty husk for the cat to take over her heart.
I think what’s important to note here is that the Curious Cat is much like the Salem of this verse. The gods left here before and cursed him with the need to be forever curious? Sounds like a certain cat tried something similar with the gods on this world before they left. So does that mean that falling off in the between worlds teleport you to different places the gods have made? And did they continue to make things after Remnant? I hope they do answer these things later on after opening this up to us.

From what I understand, ruby didn't decide to be the leader so much as it was forced on her/nobody else did it.
I dont watch the show but I've seen clips people showed of all the times people said she decided to be the leader and it turns out that isnt really the case. There's apparently not actually many if any times she dir3ctly says she has to be the leader.
Also nobody else argued otherwise b3cause they agreed or realized they didn't have time/room to argue otherwise later in the story.
You'll also note that when ruby dropped her gun sytche thing, they knew she was clearly emotionally disturbed but once again something else happens that directs everyone away from her suffering.
My conclusion is that she was only in the wrong to say "make believe friends" but that everything else was valid. The dude even realized what he said wasn't true and wanted to take it back but couldn't.
If you go back and watch season nine, everytime someone asks her if something is wrong immediately they ignore her right after becauae everything else is more important and then they don't follow up.
Again, I have not watched the show at all. Only got interested when I saw her outbreak in episode 7. But I've seen enough clips and did watch season 9 to say her outburst is justified.
Also if you want to know how new I am, I didn't know rwby was ruby and not literally r/w/b/y
I dont know whats worse. The fact i called Neo's stomp happening as a joke that would finally make her simp army realize shes an irredeemable monster after six volumes of defending a psychotic murder enjoyer, or the fact im still seeing them saying she can be saved and redeemed.
Did anyone else notice how little jaune cares for rubys problems and instead made everything about him and the comments about how she made evrthing about herself made him look so stupid. Ruby gave a its not about you anymore speech to him in vol 1 . not only that she put everything amd everyone else before herself i think all the time . also jaune needs to understand ruby suffered more than him evident in the next chapt yet stilles tried to downplay her struggle then give a dumb speech. he is the worst now to me

I've always said that Neo is an irredimible paychopath but her fans always pet her because she is cute, after this episode, will they still arguing that she could become an ally and friend to the protagonist? If they do, then they are more hopeless than Neo's redemption arc 😅

She's still not out of the ally closet. I don't expect her to do a full turnaround like Emerald but it's possible she will side with them against Salem under the right circumstances especially since she wants revenge on Cinder too not just Ruby.

I want Neo to survive because I love the character, but also because even despite all the horrible things she’s done, nobody, not even Neo, deserves to live as a puppet to the cat. She’s essentially trapped in her own mind while the cat pilots her body. What I’m hoping for is Jaune, who has tried and failed to save so many people, will save Neo from the cat’s possession. She doesn’t need to be redeemed, or even join the good guys, but simply giving her the CHANCE to do the right thing is what heroes do

She's just such an entertaining character mann, with all the criticism of RWBY as a show, I can rely on Neo to at least be FUN to watch. If she dies, I'm 100% gonna lose it.

honestly in ep.7 when Ruby goes off on everyone I kinda didn't feel it as much as I probably should have. Yes the "Why do I have to be the Leader?" bit in the beginning was good it was unique enough to say it was something genuinely for Ruby Rose as a character, the other two parts of her going off were "What about me!?" and "So happy for you two sorting out your feelings finally!!!" and we've all heard the last two parts of this rant in a lot of other media almost word for word. Like Harley Quinn I'm pretty sure she's had a breakdown like this about eight times already. it just didn't feel like something that was a Ruby Rose type of rant is what I'm trying to say here. comment, like/dislike (if you don't agree, obviously.)
