All of those years that Arkenstone spent in a zen like state of peace and tranquility has allowed him to tap into the deepest pits of aggression when making the Harkonnen soundtrack and I love him for it.
It's crazy that he's mainly known (I think?) for this peaceful new agey music and here he did the hardcore metalish soundtrack for the most evil faction in the universe.
This is when shit got real. Up until the civil war you had been able to throw your Harkonnen weight around and roll over the factions with your beefier units. Then you find your own advantage being used against you and it sucks.
You really do not want "Dune: Return of the Lootbox free-to-play edition" from the same experts, who gave you iOS version of Dungeon Keeper? Strange...
Under three conditions. 1 - No EA involvement, at all 2 - FMV is mandatory, with the hammiest actors they can get. 3 - Include Joseph David Kucan, for acting in the FMVs, for directing the FMV, and for calling the shots. He would make a brilliant piter de vries.
This track went so well with the Harkonnen civil war mission. When it starts in the background while whoever you chose briefs you on your mission. (I always chose Gunseng)
@@jawesomes6939 copek was a true Harkonnen. He didn't wait for the baron's passing, he just murdered him, just like a Harkonnen would. Gunseng tried to look more civilized, but he was just as evil . Always wanted to do artwork for something like that. Maybe a game called something like _Dune: Jihad_ where it's set in the war against thinking machines.
indie creators have pretty much ruined every great game, i PREFER if the original creators sit on the license and do nothing than giving it away to indies...
This and Surrounded are my favorite tracks from Arkenstone. Ride the Worm from Klepacki and the Strategist round out all the houses for me. A shame they didn't make a track for the Sardaukar, Ix and Tleilaxu
For the Sardaukar, they sorta did. Victory is Inevitable has a very different instrument section, with a lot of brass that gives it an imperial, authoritative quality compared to the industrial rock that encompasses most of the Harkonnen OST, just like how Ride the Worm could be considered a Fremen song because of how it sets itself apart from the Atreides OST. Dark Alliance sort of blends the Sardaukar and Harkonnen motifs, which would play into their canonical alliance in the Dune series.
I ran the Harkonnen track for PVP in a game I played and this one turned me into a hate-fueled murder machine. Been using it for arena games ever since, when I feel like I need a boost of rage to help me. When this plays, everything dies.
Some of us use various genres of Rock to purge the negativity out of their systems. Some use depressing rock, others use ultra fast rock, yet others focus more on vocals. And then.. There are creatures like me who purge their inner hate and rage on this sort of stuff. There is hatred in this track YAHAW! Feel the rage and let it out! :3
I would love to make a sequel to this game. Only major change I would make is replacing House Ordos with a resurgent House Corrino, with the explanation being the Corrinos razed the Ordos homeworld in order to avenge the deceased Emperor (who was killed through Ordos machinations); all happening while the 3 houses fought to defeat the Emperor Worm. Basically, after reclaiming the loyalty of the Sardaukar, the Corrinos aim to reclaim the throne; while fighting the Atreides and Harkonnens, who also aim to control the known universe. The subfactions would be the Fremen, the Smugglers, the Ixians, the Bene Tlielax, and the remnants of House Ordos.
So far I can only think of Tindalos Home or Eugen Systems to create a remake of Dune, EA (and by extention Petroglyph) are out of question after what they did to C&C and Relic still has to recover their credit after how they screwed all over the Dawn of War series. Tindalos have been learning some important development lessons with Etherium and Battlefleet Gothic Armada and their art department is absolutely fantastic (although they may need help with live-action films), while Eugen Systems actually got the guts to make a classic RTS despite limited funds and their Wargame series has been excellent. Funnily enough I think the original Act of Aggression may have worked quite interesting for a Dune setting, with spice being detected and mined at random positions. Maybe, just maybe, Gearbox could put Blackbird Interactive to work in a Dune RTS as a side project along with the current development of Homeworld 3. Come to think, who owns the right for a Dune game right now?

This guy was 49 years old when he composed this album. And it was a one-off project for him. Amazing.
Yeah his normal stuff is like peaceful new age I think? So us Emperor players saw him express himself in a way few others did. And it's great
