Nice - the bike manual describes a starting procedure if having trouble starting. If it doesn’t start straight away twist the throttle all the way then hit the start button ( half a second all that is necessary) then release throttle and fire up again. Works every time and in gear also!
Hey Jarrod Great review mate good to see. I ended up with the WR450F MY19 Transmoto project bike still goin strong it does have those niggling starting issues that you speak of with the 250 anyway I am thinking about selling it soon to maybe fund a CRF450L or DR400E project still no match for the Mighty WR say gday to your Dad / Wayne for me. Tony
Awesome video ! Appreciate the tips. Just two questions, - did the muffler swap and airbox change help with it stalling less in the techy stuff ? And does the radiator fan come as stock on the bike ? Cheers guys, subbed 👍🏻
Hey Mark, yes it did! Especially when we ran the different map linked in the video description. This map is specific to Australia 98 octane fuel. The radiator fan comes stock on the WR in Australia.
forks are way too hard for rocks and roots, I have tried hitting stuff slower, faster, nup too firm and apparently the mid valve is too stiff. Might be ok if you work out 6 days a week otherwise it just beats you up. Everywhere else is good, flow, downhill, jumps, whoops and all the other usual stuff you get on a trail
Did y’all have a problem with the header turning red hot while you were running the bike stock? I’m in the US and having that exact problem with stock settings
@@thq8i92 What do you mean? Why would that effect the header getting red hot? Will you explain what issue youre having? Did you ever find a fix for it? Are you running the stock settings?
@@thq8i92 I don't understand why you think it being ridden on the street in 5th or 6th gear have anything to do with it? A lot of people make these bikes street legal which would mean its always on the street. Will you explain what issue you're having to the tee? Did you ever find a fix for it? Do you still have the bike in stock form? or have you upgraded to the competition ECU, removed the intake snorkel and swapped the exhaust? So many people Ive spoken to that have a newer WR, have never experienced this problem other than you, myself and 1 other person on youtube. I think we got a lemon from the dealership to be honest. It sucks because of how expensive these bikes are but nobody I know has experienced this.
Glowing header pipes are most likely because the motor is running really lean. Add some fuel to the map and check it again. Also if you are riding in the dark or overcast conditions, you may always see a hint of orange glow coming off the header. It's thin metal and will heat up easily.
That was great . Most informative Wr 250 take i have heard..

Bloody love mine. Such a versatile bike. Will “borrow “that map and give it a crack though. Cheers 👍🏻

Nice simple mods. Nice one.
Thanks Mosca! The bike doesn't need much. It's pretty damn good out of the box for the bush.

@transmotoevents Do you have a part # for those radiator braces?
I too would like a part number for those radiator braces. I can't seem to find anything that looks similar or isn't for the yzf....
Have you guys put a lithium battery with more cca ? Also bike is a proper pain to get into nuturel
Is there any modification on stock exhaust on yz250fx to wr250?
@transmoto do you think these engine mods will affect reliability at all? Will maintenance need to be performed more often?
How many hours do you estimate before a engine refresh?
If ya not racing it or thrashing tf out of it everyday it should do 80-100 hours easily before a top end
