Rose(or anyone else who may happen to see this and have suggestions),
I went to Fidelity to setup a Roth IRA. I am not at the step to start investing yet. I still have debts I am paying off, and I have to get an emergency fund built up, but I wanted to walk through the process to try and understand how to invest a Roth IRA into Index Funds exactly. I think I see now how I would go about that. However, during the process it gave me two Core Position options to hold my Roth IRA in, which were Fidelity Government Money Markey Fund (SPAXX) or FDIC Insured Deposit Sweep Program (FDIC). It said in small print that I may have other options become available after opening, but which one should I choose upon opening my account?

Thanks for all of the great information Rose. New subscriber here. I’ve taken your advice and opened my ROTH IRA. It’s also funded with the yearly max, however I haven’t done my asset allocation yet. Since the market has plummeted (today in real time 2/24/20), is this a good time to jump in? I’ve always heard to buy low.

Rose, I'm really surprised you didn't mention Charles Schwab in top 5. It's certainly up there....

Rose, Charles Schwab, is much better than Fidelity as I have used both extensively!

Schwab funds have like a $3,000 min investment, not good for smaller retail investors

@@HurricaneTrist I don't know what you're talking about... I have Schwab and there's no min investment.....

Anyone else here, bc your job layoff and need to transfer your Roth IRA and 401k from the company before the deadline of 11/30? I'm researching my options, bc I don't want Prudential to automatically transfer it to their company. I don't know a thing about investing, but here I am to learn. Thank you for your videos!!!

I'm 70, living on Social Security, and Veteran widow benefits and have a mortgage. I'm comfortable enough to invest a little to leave my family, maybe up to $100 a month. Wish this info had been around when I was younger!!! My son has retirement and pension at his job but no 401k. He wants to start investing also. I told him to watch your video.
