Glad you found the issue. Seems like the fuse did its job. The coils and injectors are powered up from the efi relay which gets switched by the ecu. So they do not have permanent power with the ignition on. They will only show power for a couple of seconds when you switch on the ignition and then again when the ecu sees crank signal.
I forgot to film my findings for this part. I noticed all this haha. I just dont have the schematics for the harness, so it's all kind of guess work / chasing wires.
Dang! I wanna put the same engine in my 99 4runner soon even though the 3.4L is running fine right now, it has 252k miles and really my only gripe is it uses too much gas
Never in my life have I ever seen a driveshaft quite like that. I have so many questions… lol Did you make that yourself? How does it hold up on the road? Road trips? Noise? Ya kinda just broke my brain..
Its much stronger, you can come off a boulder and have whole weight of truck on it and not damage it. And not even a little balanced for low speed and offroad use only. I would not go above 50kph with it.
Not sure what you mean about square tube driveshaft with 2 pipes welded together. Mine is the same as all the ones I've seen. We all rock pretty much the same style square tube shaft. No issues, we love them.
Do you actually stay that calm and collected during all these issues, or do you just edit out the rage-cursing? I know I personally would not be able to mess with all that without at least a few profanities :p Thanks for the great content, as always.
@@DirtGarage you said that you picked up these oem ones, they say volkswagen auto group. But instead I think that you should have said "I picked up some vw auto group oem ones that are the same style. Just my opinion. I love the 1uzfe and have wanted to put one in a truck for a while
fur fuck sake bud!! you were a ticking time bomb! your so lucky you made it home!!! lucky mullet! look up detail Dan wheelie stand on the utube. go team toyota !!
I really want to do this swap. Unfortunately the moronic Dictatorship of California won't allow its subjects to make our old vehicles more efficient and powerful...even when it spews the same or even cleaner emissions. Going GM connect and cruise is just stupid expensive and sacrilege for purists like myself. Nice work BTW! KEEP IT UP 💯

Bro that mullet is sick ....i wish i could touch it .
That drive shaft is crazy! What are the upsides downsides? More travel but what about balance at higher speeds?
I was wondering that, too. Never seen that before!
haha yeah first time i've ever seen anything like that.
I believe that’s his front shaft so it won’t matter at high speeds
Those coil pack wires are fragile for sure. Mine the clips break easily.
Looks like you figured out the culprit.
Fun video! Keep up the good work!
Would have never found it if you didn't pull the coils thats why you order of operation is so important in diagnosing. Good job
Nice touch with the factory air box. Nice, clean and serviceable!
Thanks!

The best yota youtube out there. Spokane WA
Thanks!!
Dang man can’t catch a break with that UZ!! Hope it finally gives you a break brotha! And hope that rear coil under the booster is good 😂
Stock T100 airbox and intake tube look like they will fit
Maybe time for a hydro boost master. Your tow rig should have one to mock up and would give you spare parts if something happened.
At least you found out the issue! Hopefully no problem from now on!
Liquid electrical tape exists. It's great for stuff like that, where you're too close to the connector to use actual heat shrink tube.
Shop kitty was supervising your work.
Love the videos man keep it up! You should get together with the guy from Toyota World Runner channel and do a wheelin video.
Haha we have discussed a meetup!
Very impressive!
You need a smaller booster maybe for a race car or something easier to service your plugs and coil packs
I can’t tell you how badly I want to 1uz swap my 91
That factory intake bellow outlet is 3.25"
Yup!
Awesome stuff bro
Hey love the channel! Just wondering how you mounted your front bumper to the truck?
That chopsaw has lived a hard long life..
Never in my life have I ever seen a driveshaft quite like that. I have so many questions… lol
Did you make that yourself?
How does it hold up on the road?
Road trips?
Noise?
Ya kinda just broke my brain..
Hopefully you were oiling that air filter. Those forever filters need washed and oiled every once in awhile.
You don't own a hacksaw pretty violent with the angle grinder with the cutting wheel on that coil pack
Worked mint
Enjoy the channel. One thing , it looks like That air filter looks to small for that V8. I would bet it’s choking down your power quite a bit.
It's rated for like 350hp. Small filters like that are fine. Not a big v8 by any means
Hey man I'm so curious about ur square driveline , never seen that b4 is it stronger that way?? Is it balanced? Love ur channel!
Its much stronger, you can come off a boulder and have whole weight of truck on it and not damage it. And not even a little balanced for low speed and offroad use only. I would not go above 50kph with it.
Have you noticed any difference in mileage since your swapped to the stand alone?
How much do you have into swapping the V8 in and what transmission are you using?
I'd say roughly $3000
I'm confused on the coil pack situation, why not use Ginuwine parts? I understand it might cost more.
There is no genuine parts for early 1UZ. They have distributors, I converted to coil on plug when I did stand alone.
Wow, I remember when you did the stand alone, but I didn't realize you converted to coils from distributor, that's crazy. Good job 👏
love this guy.
Your driveshaft! Never seen a square tube that didn’t have the two pipes welded together! Ever had any issues? Looks easier.
Doesn't that ride super rough with that balance?
@@sacrenough it’s just for trails. On the trails you don’t need a balanced driveshaft.
I was wondering the same thing

Would have been the ideal time to change plugs
If they where not only a couple months old
Factory air box & serviceable air filter must have.
Exactly
Why is it necessary to modify a stock part?
Because it's stock for a Audi, not a Toyota motor.
@@DirtGarage ah got it.
Lol yeah you don't need a hot air intake.
Yeah but everyone knows red will make it go faster! :0)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone cut a coil pack to fit lol
Me neither. But had to be done to fit OEM Audi coils in a Lexus motor haha
@@DirtGarage shit it was a good idea I woulda punkd out and been scared to mess them up lol
If it is oem, no cutting should need to take place
It's OEM for a Audi.. This is a Lexus motor.
@@DirtGarage you said that you picked up these oem ones, they say volkswagen auto group. But instead I think that you should have said "I picked up some vw auto group oem ones that are the same style. Just my opinion. I love the 1uzfe and have wanted to put one in a truck for a while
We toyota guys will always find a way to make it work.
Probably 75% of the reason toyotas are known for their reliability. 🤔
Haha the cat
Why not do a snorkel
Its always something stupid isnt it
Here from donut

Dude iI just snapped a cut off disk and put a piece in my arm, at least get ya some glasses for your squints .
I usually do. But cutting the plastic here I didn't
