I LOVE the new shoulder laser cannon with their lingering hit box! I have yet to see anyone miss a shot a mid to close range, because latency makes the lingering hit box follow you. Yeah!

That being said mine and Steels latency has never really been great and on BVO (the build style I was running) it's kinda impossible to beat that setup without good latency. So I ratted which is how you deal with just stacking a ton of firepower on a heavy AC. I'm a commentator. I'm a tournament host. I am no where near a top player lol. And yeah some of my own TH-cam comments are REALLY getting to me. Made a video on a lightweight player that beat 432 (Best Japanese player) in a tournament and SO MANY COMMENTS talked about how lightweights were overpowered. It still bugs me ngl
Laser cannons are attacker side hitreg, so thanks to fromsoft's weird netcode, they have phantom hit properties like status effects in ER. But they do like 1/3 your HP if both hit. So...yeah.

Yep we vets told em hard lock would trivialize battles in favor of the fattest builds. Well look up ranked. Its fat zimm builds, hold forward plasma rifle tanks, The only viable fighting "LW" "BVO" and RATS lots of Rats. And a few brave old school style rifle players.
This ranked mode is honestly the most evil use of PvP I've ever seen in my life. It lulls you into a false sense of enjoyment, but then the moment you get a rank, fun is made illegal.
I love the gameplay and want it to be more skill based. At the moment its like playing rock, paper, scissors, except theres a fourth option called gun that can beat all the other three. The ranked mode has only encouraged everyone to use the strongest builds they can put together, which has resulted in greatly narrowing the build variety and playstyles you'll encounter. Removing hard lock will go part way to helping the issues, but I doubt they'll remove something so fundamental. They could make the stagger period shorter to make punishing it something you need to be more prepared for, or make breaking ACS take longer? But Im not sure what knock on effects for balncing that might have. Still more enjoyable than Elden Ring Colloseum though.
The thing is in a perfect world this game is rock paper scissor, if you can execute the mechanics... But usually the more stats you have the more likely you are to win... If you build a heavy weight decently it just curbstomps 99% of all other builds... if you go like 19k AP with 1400 defense it has essentially has more than 30k hp or so because of extra defenses, which means you have like triple the hp of a light to midweight which goes arrround less than 9k At this point you just put on big fat lasers and rockets and you win automatically... Being like 40 to 50 kmh faster means nothing if you can get like 20k ap more and far more firepower... Steels point about hardlock wouldnt help much You need something that would distinguish lights from heavys. This would be something like turnspeed.

AC6 is heavily movement based, and playing these slow lumbering bipeds just feels like Im not doing anything exciting or fun. I much prefer light and mid weight bipeds and reverse joints. And tetrapods can be fun as well as they make use of different movement mechanics in the air. So I struggle a lot in ranked. I dont want to contribute to how frustrating the ranked gameplay can be with its win conditions being highly meta build based. Unless you or your team are just that much better at the game, but its so hard to make up a difference in build efficacy with game skill that it cant be expected to happen regularly. It could just be so much better than it is.
Nice to see that at least it is still somewhat possible to chase down a light build with AB even being heavy. That space map is just absolute garbage, not providing a single useful cover to implement any tactic. Edit: One more thing is that I am pretty disappointed at the choice of map the game devs think that will be good for ranked pvp. I don't understand why they didn't include maps with tall buildings and lots or cover but instead have wide open maps, which encourage players to use builds that prefer not to engage but maintain as much distance as possible using hit & run tactics.
@@biterness2323 the map overall is indeed "flat open space" but the engagement range of most AC is around 300 range from each other => you can lure opponent into your perfered section of a map and thus making that "1%" became 50%.
I hope they release a game mode without hardlock. I honestly think Ranked should be this way regardless. You've no idea how much I love PvE in this game, and was trying to get into PvP, but it's so hollow for me to put in the time and effort.
Actually, I've encountered quite a variants of build in rank so far, not all that different from regular matches tbh. I mean, those who gotta win will always go for the best stuff possible, doesn't matter whether its ranked or not, but also vice versa.
Man, Elden Ring has so much things going for it: spacing, reaction checks, mix-ups, swaps, pseudo combos, animation blending etc. Only thing important in AC6 is what robot do you have. Elden Ring is an infinitely more engaging experience(on low lag especially)
The lack of a minimap and the addition of the stagger mehanic has been the biggest frustration for me. Sometimes you spawn really far away from the battle and have no idea where anyone is. Somtimes you spawn in the middle of the enemy team and have no idea which direction to attack or retreat to. You get instantly staggered, cant fight back or move at all then instantly destroyed. By far the worst map in rotation is the floating city (I quit if I see that map dont care), but the new ones suffer from a lack of overhead cover.

I disagree wholeheartedly that the game is bad. I was hosting a fightclub and left my settings on global when I went back to ranked to face down your behemoth of a heavyweight. I know what our lat is like in ER so I knew I didnt really have a chance against dual zimm dual LCA so I ratted. Which is legitimately how you deal with slow setups that just stack a ton of firepower. Its why bornemissza tanks still havent won a major event. You just get times out. Sadly when I actually did engage you I couldnt dodge anything due to latency. I was streaming as well and you can see this on the vod. It was unplayable which is a big bummer. The game isnt bad. Its pretty fantastic. But fromsoft netcode will always be fromsoft netcode. Now with that all being said youre fucking Steelovsky so I might have lost anyway lol. But please dont go around saying this game is terrible or it doesnt take skill. There are a lot of dedicated players that participate in tournaments and do well. This game DOES take skill. Tournaments start back up in January. Maybe try one out. See ya around gamer

Found the person who never played a previous entry. There was more skill expression beyond toggle hard lock and wiggling your stick left/right to dodge missles and rush target. Only good thing about hardlock is melee being more viable. More than likely a hard lock nerf is coming or gasp they may remove it. If the japanese want it gone.
I disagree. I think they need to make all guns more accurate with faster projectiles and increase mech health. Its absolutely shit that most of the weapons just miss 90% of the time then land a single hit and damn destroy the other player or are completely ineffective because of the range.
