Sound engineer and guitarist Machiya said in an interview that the first two years involved trial and error before finding the recipe for how to do it. He writes at least 50% of the songs and is responsible for arrangements and has the last word, although it is Yuko with her dream of a band that fused the traditional and modern sides of Japanese culture that is the driving force. She had started the trio Hanafugetsu together with flute player Daisuke and koto player Kiyoshi in February 2012 Later that year she met Machiya who was a notable session musician. Wasabi was next. Wasabi, Daisuke, and Kiyoshi had all previously worked with wadaiko player Kurona. At the start they had Kanade on shamisen and Shirakami Mashiro on bass. The bassist was replaced with Asa who was a well-known vocaloid producer behind the hit Yoshiwara Lament. It is said that Beni sought them out at a gig they were having where she introduced herself as their new shamisen player.
ive been listening to this band 3 yrs almost...even i am not japanese... Please do try to reacr more to Wagakki band song and live performance like Guernica..Reloaded.. Kyogaisuetsu + Tsukini Sakeborouyo... They also hd a collaboration with Amy Lee of Evanesence....
I think the secret is to not have everyone playing all the time, and to imagine almost all of the instruments are being percussion. The flute takes up the vocalist space, and is thus melodic alongside the guitar, but everything else is percussion, most of the time. That simplifies the problem.
I wonder who the dancer in the video is, she reminds me of Mizuno Mikiko, one of Japan's best choreographers, who also got Baby Metal started with their choreography back in 2010, I think.
Thank you for the reaction! I love this awesome band!

And who could say no to Beni. Nobody could say no to Beni. ☺
@@TheCyberMantis Any no one puts Beni in the corner either. lol
Beni also gave up a successful modeling career when she joined the band.
Nothing compares to Wagakki Band. Nobody compares to Yuko. She is amazing.
A lot of fans also love Beni. ☺
I don't think that I am exaggerating when I call Yuko the personification of the goddess Amaterasu, she is simply divine.
@@mikeat2637 She spreads joy and happiness and love wherever she goes.

Congratulations to Yuko and Kiyoshi on the birth of their first child, a daughter. I think Yuko is now back to performing.

I think Yuko is the finest overall vocalist out there today. I don't think anyone can compare to her, she is so versatile and so amazing.
Its juat unfortunate for wagakki band because they are suppose to perform live in tokyo olympics but they didnt because of pandemic...
